TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE CONTACT STATED PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT STATED HE AND 3 OTHER BYSTANDERS PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT THE REAR WHEEL WHEEL-BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,500.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE STARTED EXHIBITING A CLICKING SOUND AND FELT AS IT WERE ATTEMPTING TO SEIZE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DRIVE KNUCKLE THAT WAS WITHIN THE DIFFERENTIAL HAD FAILED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPLACE PARTS ON THE DIFFERENTIAL AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE AN ENTIRE REAR END FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR ASSEMBLY. TWO YEARS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE IDENTICAL FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN TITAN SE 4X4 OFF ROAD EDITION. WHILE GOING AROUND A CONNER I HEARD A LOUD POPING NOISE. I STOPPED THE TRUCK AND LOOKED UNDER IT. I NOTICED FLUID COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY INSPECTED IT. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARING. I ASKED THEM TO FIX IT. THEY PUT IN A NEW PART BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THAT WORK. I THEN TALKED TO THE SHOP FOREMAN OF NISSAN AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A DOWL PIN COMING LOOSE BETWEEN THE SPIDER GEARS WITHOUT PULLING THE COVER OFF OR ANYTHING. HE SAID THAT THE REAR ENDS FAIL A DIME A DOZEN WITH MODELS 2004-2007. I ASKED HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE TO FIX IT AND I WAS TOLD 3200 DOLLARS. IF NISSAN HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME I THINK THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND ACTUALLY ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. I HAVE THE TRUCK IN STORAGE RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE MILITARY, BUT I WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET AND GET IT REPAIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE HEARD A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE REPAIRS NEEDED BUT STATED THAT THE NOISE WAS RELATED TO THE SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD BEEN REPAIRED BEFORE UNDER A MANUFACTURER'S VOLUNTARY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
MY REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLE SNAPPED PUNCHING A HOLE THOUGH THE TRUCK BED OPENING IT UP LIKE A TUNA CAN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND NEARLY LOST CONTROL IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHERE THERE WERE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WORKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. DID SOME INVESTIGATING AND IT SEEMS LIKE A PRETTY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 04-07 TITANS AND AM WONDERING WHY I (OR THE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WHO'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM) WERE NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS FROM THE FINE FOLKS AT NISSAN BEFORE PEOPLE GET KILLED. I WOULD HAVE PAID TO REPLACE THEM MYSELF HAD I JUST BEEN TOLD.....ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY...SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M HAULING AROUND MY 18 MONTH OLD IN SOMETHING THAT THE FACTORY KNOWS HAS A LIFE THREATENING DEFECT AND DOESN'T TELL ANYONE!!!!!!!! LOWERED TAIL GATE TO LOAD AND NOTICED A LARGE BUMP IN THE BED LINER. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THE LEAF SPRING SHACKLE HAD BROKEN AND THE SPRING HAD GONE THRU THE BED OF THE TRUCK. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLES THAT HELD THE BRACKETS WAS PUNCHING A HOLE THROUGH THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE SPRING WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH MAKING A TURN, A LOUD CLICKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED WITHIN A THIRTY DAY PERIOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL PERTAINING TO THE MALFUNCTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,700.
TAC-WELDS BROKE ON LEFT REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLE. CAUSING THE ROLLED PORTION OF THE SHACKLE TO EXTEND OUT CAUSING THE LEAF SPRING TO HIT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRUCK BED. THE LEFT SIDE REAR OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 3-4" INCHES CAUSING HANDLING DIFFICULTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE CHANGING THE REAR BRAKES, HE NOTICED THAT THE SEALS ON THE REAR AXLE WERE LEAKING OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED, BUT THE SEALS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE SINCE RECURRED THREE TIMES. AFTER THE FIRST TWO RECURRENCES, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT RECURRENCE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR NUMEROUS WHEEL ALIGNMENTS BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A CAMBER KIT WAS MISSING. THE CAMBER KIT ALLOWED THE FRONT END TO ADJUST PROPERLY DURING WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITHOUT A CAMBER KIT AND HAS TO BE PURCHASED AS AN AFTERMARKET PART. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE CAMBER KIT AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE CAMBER KIT WAS AN AFTERMARKET PART PURCHASED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CAMBER KIT SHOULD HAVE COME WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS A SAFETY DEVICE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES, THE REAR END LOCKED UP AND SKIDDED ABOUT ONE HUNDRED FEET BEFORE IT STOPPED, CAUSING THE REAR DRIVE AXLE TO POP OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE VEICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS AWAITING INSPECTION BY THE DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,130 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,130.

LEAF SPRING SHACKLE BROKE AT WELD, AND REAR PASSENGER LEAF SPRING PUSHED THROUGH THE BODY OF MY PICKUP BED . IT WASN'T THAT DISTINGUISHABLE, IT SOUNDED LIKE A CLUNK IN THE REAR AND THAT WAS IT. I WILL CONTACT NISSAN AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY. HOWEVER, I WILL BE PURCHASING AFTERMARKET SHACKLES TODAY FOR INSTALL. *TR
