These units are being sold at various retailers and deceptively marketed. I purchased one with the warning label defaced. The listing stated it was a bStock item due to cosmetic damage otherwise fully functional. It was only after receiving it did I find the truth of the 2 NHTSA recalls in 2019. https://bigjeffaudio.com/products/open-box-ioxus-12v-group-31-smart-power-bluetooth-car-audio-ultra-capacitor After I brought it to their attention and a little convincing, did they add the disclaimer at the bottom of the listing. To be transparent I purchased the same item, through that specific vendor on eBay. I did capture the listing before they added the disclaimer. Ultimately they refunded the purchase and I sent the item back. The photos explicitly omit the "warning" that has large print ultracapacitor and small print, "follow this link to the the actual warning" Going further the manufacturer went as far as to post a video of an employee throwing the battery, showing that it is completely safe and instructs the viewer to hit up a distributor and go buy one now. It is one thing to inform the customer and quite another to sell to an unsuspecting person.
WIRE HARNESS FOR THE REAR POWER SLIDER (BEHIND THE REAR SEAT) CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE MARSHALL SAID IT WAS A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS. CAUGHT OUR CARSEATS AND THE ENTIRE CAB, AND BED ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS OFF, PARKED AND VACANT WHEN THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE, BUT ONLY FOR 10 MINUTES, SO IT MAY HAVE STARTED WHEN IT ON, AND WASN'T VISIBLE RIGHT AWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BY HENDERSON NISSAN (295 AUTO MALL DR, HENDERSON, NV 89014, (702) 558-5800); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
VEHICLE WAS JUST BELOW 1/4 A TANK MARK. I TURNED ENGINE OFF. RESET TRIP ODOMETER. PUT FUEL INTO VEHICLE. GAS GAUGE TOOK OVER 10 MINUTES TO GO FROM BELOW 1/4 TANK TO JUST ABOVE 3/4 FULL.
2006 NISSAN TITAN. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIR BAG WARNING LAMP RECALL NOTICE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG ISSUE, WAS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITIAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER FAN HAD MELTED THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE HOOD AS THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AREA. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THE WIRING HARNESS IS BROKEN BETWEEN ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,450 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 92,850.
NISSAN TITAN (36K MILES), 2006 MODEL. THE ABS CONTROL MODULE WENT BAD CAUSING THE CAR SPEEDOMETER TO QUIT WORKING AS WELL AS THE CARS TRANSMISSION TO JUMP INTO AND OUT OF GEAR WHILE ON THE ROAD. CAUSED THE CAR TO SLOW DRAMATICALLY ON THE INTERSTATE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO NISSAN AT RIVERGATE IN TN (THINKING THIS WAS BEING CAUSED BY THE CURRENT RECALL TIED TO THE EMC, ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE ABS CONTROL MODULE AND IT WOULD COST $1,500 TO REPAIR, WHERE THE EMC COSTS $2 TO REPAIR. MAKES ME WONDER IF NISSAN CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THEIR CURRENT ISSUE WITH THE CARS ELECTRONIC CONTROLS, OR MAYBE THAT THEY'VE CHOSEN TO TIE THE RECALL TO A CHEAP COMPONENT AND ALLOW THE DEALER TO THEN JIG THE CONSUMER FOR THE HIGHER PRICED COMPONENT. IN EITHER CASE, I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT HAD BEEN CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE FUEL FILTER OR BATTERY. AS A PRECAUTION THE CONTACT REPLACED BOTH PARTS. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO REFERRED HIM TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
IPDM COMPONENT FAILED. CAUSED 2006 NISSAN TITAN TO DIE 6 TIMES IN A 2 MILE JOURNEY. LOST POWER STEERING, COULD NOT SAFELY COMPLETE A TURN, HAD TO DRIVE INTO A WOODED ROADSIDE TO AVOID HITTING AN ON-COMING CAR. ONCE AT A REPAIR STATION, THEY COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO START AND I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. COULD HAVE COST ME MORE... IF THE ENGINE WERE OVER CRANKED IT COULD DAMAGE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP. SCARY EXPERIENCE TO HAVE WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE DEALER AGREED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE RECALL COVERED THE DRIVER SIDE HARNESS BUT NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH WAS SLOWLY DETERIORATING. THE DEALER WOULD NOT AGREE TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE HARNESS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000.

THE PART IS $273.38 AND IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE TRUCK HAD 30,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF DIAGNOSTIC. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE PART. *TR

2006 NISSAN TITAN BATTERY DIED WHILE DRIVING. CUSTOMER STATED THAT HE HAD NO PRIOR INDICATIONS BEFORE THE FAILURE. HE ASKED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE BATTERY . *KB THE CONSUMER STATED A BATTERY SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 11 MONTHS. *JB
ON APRIL 16, 2007 THENISSAN TITAN' DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE DOOR POCKET THAT COULD HAVE IGNITED, JUST A BOTTLE OF WATER, AND THE KEYS WERE OUT OF THE IGNITION. THE FIRE APPEARED TO HAVE STARTED AROUND THE SPEAKER AREA AND SPREAD TO THE REST OF THE DOOR PANEL. I GOT THE FIRE PUT OUT BEFORE IT SPREAD TO THE REST OF THE TRUCK, BUT THE REAR SEAT AND DOOR WERE DESTROYED. *AK
