The CVT transmission has only 80k miles and is changing gears for no reason up and down at all speeds and won’t drive safely. Rpm’s increase and randomly gear kicks in and hits very hard and then stops working.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while accelerating from at a complete stop, the vehicle jerked forward but failed to move. The contact continued to depress the accelerator pedal until the vehicle responded. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while accelerating from a complete stop. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 83,300.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The contact also stated that the vehicle made abnormally loud sounds while exceeding 20 MPH. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 31,700.
The CVT transmission has gone bad on this vehicle, while on vacation the car started sputtering and shut off at a stop light. When I had the car towed to the dealership they told me I needed a new transmission because the torque converter has gone bad. When I complained that the car has only 97,000 some miles the dealership directed me to I-800-Nissan. I provided the requested information and received a call and the gentleman told me my car was not covered under the extended warranty (was extended to 80,000 miles), he went on to say that after researching to see if Nissan could help in any way he found that I had not have service done at one of their dealership and they could not offer any assistance at this time. The quote to replace the transmission with a remanufactured transmission is $4000.00. Upon researching this issue (I believe a transmission with a first maintenance schedule at 100,000 miles should at least make it to that maintenance timeline) I have discovered this CVT transmission problem is widespread among many Nissan models, the Versa included. There were no warning lights or prior problems before it just quit.
A REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED AND WAS REPLACED AT 14,900 MILES IN 2017. NOW, A REAR WHEEL BEARING HAS FAILED AGAIN AT 59,500 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT MAKE ANY CONCESSION ON THE FAULTY PARTS AND/OR FLAW IN THE QUALITY THAT NISSAN IS USING. WHEEL BEARINGS SHOULD NOT FAIL AT THIS POINT IN A VEHICLE'S LIFE (LOW MILES). THE WHEEL GETS EXTREMELY HOT AND COULD LOCK-UP CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY. THESE CAR MODELS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND REPLACED IF NEEDED BY NISSAN AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. MY VEHICLE IS TILL WITHIN THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT 4 MONTHS BEYOND THE 60 MONTHS.

NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES FROM HITTING STEERING WHEEL. NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS CONTACTED. NO POLICE REPORT WAS MADE. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE'S TO THE REAR BUMPER. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT DEALER (NISSAN SOUTH UNION CITY 4080 JONESBORO RD, UNION CITY, GA 30291 (678) 379-2598) WHERE IT WAS TEST DRIVEN BUT UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, STATED ISSUES CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENTS WHERE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME OUT AND DIAGNOSES THE VEHICLE WHICH DETERMINED THAT THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODEL) FAULTILY AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NO RECALLS WAS UNDER THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 66,000. *LN*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD ONLY ASSIST WITH 60% OF THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

VEHICLE STALLS AND JERKS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT ANY SPEED. NO INDICATOR OR WARNING LIGHTS PRESENT.
THE GEAR SHIFT DOES NOT LOCK AND THE TRANSMISSION JUMPS GEARS. OCCASIONALLY IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER WHILE DRIVING
I PURCHASED A USED 2015 NISSAN VERSA FROM DRIVETIME BACK ON 04/20/18 WITH 46,732 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ALMOST 8 MONTHS AND IT NOW HAS CLOSE TO 60,000 MILES. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH DRIVING HERE IN THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS WITH THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN, TRANSMISSION JERKING & TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP WHO ADVISED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY QUOTED ME BETWEEN $2000.00 TO $4000.00 DEPENDING IF I BUY A USED OR NEW TRANSMISSION. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SEE THAT THIS IS WELL KNOW PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION. IT SHOWS THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY OUT TO 10 YEARS AND 120,000 ON SOME OF THE THEIR VEHICLES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, I JUST CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND ADVISE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. FOR THE CAR TO SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE IM DRIVING IT, COULD RESULT IN ME BEING INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR BEING KILLED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT REMEDIES I HAVE GOING FORWARD WITH THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU.
CVT TRANSMISSION, WHINES SHUTTERS SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO EITHER LET OFF OF THE GAS OR GIVE IT MORE GAS FOR IT TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SINCE THERE IS NO LIGHT ON THE DASH AND NO CODES NISSAN WILL NOT FIX IT I HAVE HAD IT TO THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES

3 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE, THE CAR HAS STALLED ON A CROSS STATE TRIP. LOST THE PURCHASE OF THE TRIP AND TIME. VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND VEHICLE CUTS OFF. STARTED UP, VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD AND STOPS AGAIN. CALLED A TOW-TRUCK-- HAULED INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, WHO INFORMS THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACING. CVT TRANSMISSION IS INSTALLED ON VEHICLE. WHY? DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED THAT WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS VEHICLE.??

GWINNETT PLACE NISSAN (2555 PLEASANT HILL RD, DULUTH, GA 30096, (877) 567-8412) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, ACCELERATED WHEN IT TURNED GREEN AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. FINALLY DID MOVE ENOUGH TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. HAD CAR TOWED OVER 150 MILES BACK TO AUSTIN, TEXAS AND DROPPED OFF AT LAMB'S TIRE & AUTOMOTIVE ON W. SLAUGHTER LANE. TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BRAND NEW WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 6500.00. REBUILT ABOUT 1/2 THAT AMOUNT. DID NOT FIX. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO OUR HOUSE WHERE IT STILL SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY.

WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT AND IT ONLY HAS 79K MILES I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN OCT OF 2015. I AM JUST CHECKING TO SEE IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED IN 2014 SINCE THOSE TRANSMISSIONS WERE RECALLED ON THE 2014 VERSAS WERE USED IN THE 2015 VERSAS. THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED WITH THAT MILEAGE. I AM SURE NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS, AS I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM NISSAN VERSA OWNERS. WE NEED A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES CONSUMERS SIMPLY CANNOT PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE THEM REPLACED THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND NISSAN SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY FOR THE TOTAL REPAIRS TO REPLACE THESE TRANSMISSIONS ON ALL THE 2015 VERSAS, MAYBE YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING TO BE INSPECTED AS THEY ARE TWO WEEKS BEHIND AND NOW I HAVE TO RENT A VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK. PLEASE TAKE THIS COMPLAINT INTO SERIOUS CONSIDERATION.
ON SEPTEMBER 25,2018 MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. IN MARCH 2018 I TOOK IT IN THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECK FOR A LOUD STRANGE NOISE WHEN I WAS HITTING THE GAS PEDAL . THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AT 56,000 MILES . SO I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR. THE CAR HAD STARTED JERKING AND MAKING REAL LOUD NOISE . WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE THE CAR WOULD CUT OFF. AT 76,122 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.
AT 90,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING UP. IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS SLIPPING WHEN YOU TAKE OFF FROM A DEAD STOP. AS TIME WENT BY, AT 114,000 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AT THE SAME TIME THE TRANSMISSION GOT WORSE. NOT ONLY IT WAS SLIPPING AT TAKE OFF, BUT JERKING AT 20 AND 40 MPH. WHE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER WHEN I CHECKED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO SAID IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SERVICED EVERY 36,000 MILES. SHE I WHEN IN FOR OIL CHANGES NOTHING WAS SAID PRIOR.
" TAKATA RECALL" MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA IS DRIVING SLOW AND THERE IS NO EXCELARATION, THE CAR WONT DRIVE OVER 35 MILES AND THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY DRIVING SLOW. I AM ABLE TO TAKE THE CAR TO O'REILYS BY HOME AND THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE A DIAGNOSTICS ON THE CAR AND THEY ADVISE ME THAT IS WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC TO COME TO HOME AND HE ADVISE THE SAME. I CHECK NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA WEBSITE AND I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE NISSAN VERSA BUT THAT WAS IN 2015 FOR THE CVT-TRANSMISSION AND THIS HAPPEN TO MY CAR IN JAN 2017. I DIDNOT HAVE ANY WARNINGS ON MY DASH BOARDS, AND I WAS IN TRAFFIC WHEN IT HAPPEND. I FIRST BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JAN 2015 FOR THE FOOT PEDAL AND THE CAR STAYED THERE ALMOST 2 MONTHS BEFORE THEY FINALLY FIXED IT CORRECTLY AND THEN I NOTICE A RECALL AFTER THAT. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN DEC 2014 AND THE CAR IS NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO BE GONE. I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WHY SHOULD I SINCE IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR. WHEN THE CAR WAS DRIVING SLOW ON THE EXPRESSWAY I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND IT COULD HAVE PLAY OUT WORST. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE LET IT SIT AND THEN I STARTED IT BACK AGAIN DRIVING WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND THE CAR KEPT JERKING AND NEVER GOING OVER 35 MILES, THE CAR REVS ON ITS OWN WITHOUT STEPPING ON THE FOOT PEDAL. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR NOW I DO NOT GO FURTHER THAN 3 MILES FROM MY HOME FOR FEAR THE CAR WILL STOP AGAIN OR I CAN BE IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I LIVE BY 2 MAJOR EXPRESSWAYS THAT TRUCK USE AND I CANT AFFORD TO TAKE THE CHANCE WITH GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. TRYING TO MAKE 1 TURN OFF MY STREET THE CAR JUST REVS AND THEN IT SLOWS DOWN AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR WILL SPEED OFF ON IT OWN TO ABOUT 35 MILES.I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 4,000.00 TO PUT A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH I DONT HAVE.
THIS CAR HESITATES. I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I JUST ROLL. WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN - I HAVE CARS BEHIND ME HONKING AT ME TO GET MOVING, BUT NOTHING WORKS. THEN, SUDDENLY THE CAR SHOOTS FORWARD. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND NOT ONLY ON LEFT TURNS, BUT THEY ARE THE WORST. BEFORE MAKING A LEFT TURN, EVERYONE MAKES SURE THERE IS NO CAR APPROACHING. BUT, EVERY LEFT TURN IS A REAL ISSUE FOR ME, BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF THE CAR IS GOING TO MOVE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE, ONLY TO BE TOLD IT WAS FINE WHEN THEY TESTED IT AND BRING IT BACK WHEN IT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT. I WAS EVEN TOLD THAT THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS ARE CLOSE TOGETHER AND MAYBE I WAS PUSHING BOTH OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME. SO, IT WAS A WOMAN'S CRAZY PROBLEM SHE WAS CREATING HERSELF. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
WAS DRIVING ON SOUTH ON HWY 86 IN CALIFORNIA ..I CAME UP ON THE BACK OF A TRUCK AND SLOWED DOWN... I WENT TO PASS TRUCK AND FELT LIKE THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING. THEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED OVER AND I PULLED THE PEDAL OUT AND LET GO AND IT SHOT BACK TO THE FLOOR IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS A LARGE SPRING PULLING ON THE PEDAL. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW OIL SPLATTERS THAT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE SLAVE CYLINDER. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING US THAT IT IS ABUSE HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON OPEN HIGHWAYS WITHOUT IT BEING NECESSARY TO SHIFT FOR 95% OF ITS SHORT 4400 MILES LIFE ! *TR
