2017 Ram 1500 Air Bags

Air bag light is on and doesn't disappear. It says service air bags soon.

Was traveling at least 45mph. Car pulled out in front of me. Had impact on passenger front side of my truck.

We were involved in an accident and the air bags did not deploy. We were turning left and another vehicle went through a red light and hit my 2017 Dodge RAM 1500. The other vehicle was traveling at a high rate and and collided with the front of our truck. I'm very shocked that the airbags did not deploy.

I have water leaking out of both front grip airbags. My warranty started in 2019 as I bought the vehicle new from the dealer. They said this is not covered under the warranty. It is a safety issue and I believe it should be covered.

WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON WET ROADS RAINED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WAS RAINING THAT MORNING, I ROUNDED THE LAST CURVED ON A 30 MPH ROAD AND I WAS ONLY DOING BETWEEN 25 TO 28 I STARTED SLIDING AND TURNED MY WHEEL LEFT HANDED SO HARD THAT IT BROKE THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH AND HIT HEAD ON INTO A TREE IT LIFTED THE REAR OF MY TRUCK UP AND SLAMMED IT BACK DOWN I HAD 300 LBS OF SAND RATCHET STRAPPED WITH 2 RACHET STRAPS THE SAND BAGS ARE NOW AT THE CAB PART OF THE BED. NO MESSAGE LIGHTS OF ANY KIND WERE ON THE DASH PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT AND MY FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THAT'S POSSIBLE WITH HITTING A FIRM OBJECT AT 25 MPH TO 28 MPH. THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS INVOLVED WITH THE ACCIDENT AND THE TRUCKS WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP BUT NO WORK HAS BEEN PERFORM ON IT AS OF YET BECAUSE I REQUESTED THE AIRBAGS BE INVESTIGATED.

On June 29 2023 the weather conditions were Rainy the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle the vechile the vehicle had ran into a guard barrier and pushed the vehicle into the middle lane of the highway when the vehicle hit the concrete barrier head on the air bag didn’t deploy

Air bags deployed while vehicle was parked and engine not running….vehicle was not hit or tampered with ..I was inside vehicle vacuuming when air bags went off without any warning..insurance gave me points for incident when there was no reason for air bags to deploy and I had to pay deductible…I should be reimbursed

Was in an accident on 7/8/2022. A vehicle pulled out in front of us and the speed we was traveling at was 45 mph at the time of the impact and airbag’s did not deploy.

I was in a vehicle accident May 28, 2021 in my 2017 Ram 1500 on my way to my sons very important medical appointment in Ann Arbor. It was raining horribly and the roads were pretty slick. We were going about 60mph with the rest of traffic due to the visibility. I was rear ended by a hit and run driver in the left lane which caused my vehicle to hydro plane into the right lane where my vehicle hit a steel guard rail and I was then t-boned by an oncoming vehicle in the right lane. My vehicle then did a complete 360. My vehicle was struck twice by two different vehicles and also hit a guardrail, none of my vehicles airbags went off. I was a back seat passenger and seat belted in. I. suffered a bad whip lash. I went to the emergency room a few days later because the pain was unbearable. My 1 month old son was in the vehicle as well as his father. Thankfully my son was in a car seat and the seat belts worked and was wearing one, my injuries could have been worse. Because the air bags did not go off, my car may not be considered as totaled. When picking up my vehicle from the tow service, there was a newer model Ford F150 same size vehicle and similar damages as my truck, all of that vehicles air bags went off. Why didnt mine? I have attached my 2017 Ram 1500 photos as well as the Ford F150 photos to show the similar damages to both vehicles with one vehicles air bags failing to go off and one did not.

2017 Dodge Ram 1500 with less than 30,000 miles is showing an air bag system warning. Have checked all the components under the seat as well as the fuses. Nothing seems to be faulty or out of place.

I was in a front end collision. The other vehicle failed to yield right of way and it was a direct hit to the front of my truck. The other vehicle was a 2007 Toyota vin # jtezu14r270089246. My truck was spun almost 360 degrees. I had on my seat belt but the airbag did not deploy. The accident resulted in my having a fractured sternum. The vehicle has not bee inspected but is a total loss.

Saturday, October 23rd at around 11:00 am the airbag system check light came on. Brought it to my local mechanic who reviewed the code for the warning and it stated Code B0028-13 Ride Side Seat Deployment Squib 1 Circuit Open. Asked him if it could have been hit with one of my kids feet and he stated absolutely no based on where the connections where located under the seat.

EVERY 5 OR 10 MILES THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATES ON THE DASHBOARD. THE WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION HOWEVER IF IT IS ACTIVATED AND THEN THE VEHICLES PUT INTO PARK SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE WARNING LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR ANYWHERE FROM ONE MILE TO A HUNDRED MILES THEN SHUT OFF AND ANOTHER 5 OR 10 MILES LATER TURN BACK ON

TAKATA INFLATOR WAS HIT IN THE SIDE, NO AIRBAG THEN TRUCK ROLLED ON SIDE NO AIRBAG WHEN THEY ROLLED TRUCK BACK OVER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED *DSY

WASHINGTON STREET, NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA 02760) AND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED AN INVESTIGATION. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER, STATING THAT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE DID NOT SUSTAIN ENOUGH MOMENTUM FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AFTER THE HIT. THE IMPACT WAS ON DRIVERS SIDE TO MIDDLE OF THE TRUCK AND PER DODGE THERE WAS A DRIVERS SIDE FAULT CODE FOR THE LEFT SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR. THIS WAS NOT INSPECTED BY THEM WHILE IT WAS AT THE SHOP AFTER INFORMING THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I WAS SENT HOME WITH NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT WAS WRONG WITH AIR BAGS. THEY SEEN THE PICTURES OF ACCIDENT AND STATED THEY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. PER CHRYSLER THEY SAID TO CONTACT DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND PAY THE FEE. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK AFTER ACCIDENTS AND AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYING. I HAD THE ORC RECALL DONE AND THERE WAS ALSO ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAGS THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND THE REPLACED THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ALONG WITH COMPUTER. THIS TRUCK IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND CHRYSLER IS NOT DOING MUCH TO ACCEPT LIABILITY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
