The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon cleaning the tailgate, the driver's side cable of the tailgate loosened, and the bolts fractured. The loosened cable struck the contact on his left leg. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the bolts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer as the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
Rear window area not sealing properly from issues with body causing water to leak into the cabin. This is causing mold growth, electrical shorts and possible fires. There are hundreds of trucks dealing with this issue discussing this via online forums. Many are breaking the rear windows just to have insurance fix it, some are slapping silicone everywhere to stop the leaks.
The plastic frame at the top of the rear back glass has two cracks causing significant leaking into the cab of the vehicle.
Water leaks on roof that stain interior head liner over rear window that also may affect rear curtain air bags.
The Rambox door randomly pops open fully while going down the road allowing items stored in the Rambox to come out of the compartment while traveling down the road. This poses a severe risk to the vehicles following behind my vehicle. I brought the truck in for service and was told that this is not a safety recall, which is incredulous to me. I was told that the cause of the failure was a remote switching device in the B pillar, which is obviously nothing that has been damaged by my use. Since this started happening to me, I have heard of two other drivers of trucks with the Rambox with this same incident. I believe both of those vehicles were 2020 Dodge trucks. This has happened multiple times to me, and they want over $400 to fix it!
Rear window structure frame cracks prematurely causing structural damage due to water leaking through into the cab of the truck. This defective backlite by RAM 1500 has been leaking causing the rear window visibility to be affected by fogging up too easily and water dripping through the windows frame on to the inside of the window, also the vehicle is equipped with a battery pack behind the rear seat and if left to get wet will cause failures and damage to vehicle electrical system. The vehicle has been inspected and confirmed by the Ram certified dealership. Manufacture has been informed of this ongoing issue and has issued prior TSB cases for this defect. No prior issues with rear window prior to noticing the faulty cracked window frame. It appears this has been happening to several ram 1500 from years 2019-2022 this should not be happening on a like new 2 year old well taken care of vehicle
Water leaking through the rear window. Headliner gets wet when it rains and when the truck gets washed leaving a smell after it dries. Dealer was notified about a year ago.
Tailgate unlocks and opens on its own while driving.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the rear window frame fractured and caused water to penetrate the vehicle and damaged the wires located in the driver’s side rear passenger’s seat and rear passenger’s side seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic replaced the rear window frame unit and glass. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 49,500.
REAR WINDOW HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS IN THE UPPER FRAME ALLOWING WATER IN THE CAB. THIS ALLOWS WATER TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ON THE REAR WALL. WHICH HAVE A POSSIBILITY TO SHORT THE SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
REAR WINDOW LEAK THAT LET MOSITURE IN MY VEHICLE AND SOAKED MY HEADLINER
Water is leaking into the cab of the truck from the back window. Took the vehicle to dodge and they stated it was an issue with the window and seal and it shouldn't have failed like this. Declined warranty because it isn't covered past 12k miles. Customer service via phone call on 5-17-21 stated windows are similar to brakes and windshield wipers as they wear out and that makes it not a manufacturers issues. The water damage is severe and causes a moldy smell and could comprise the live wires in the third brake light. There was no warnings and there isn't anything caused by the user. This seems to be a known problem that others have reported to the nhtsa and on message boards monitored by Dodge Inc. Seat belts by the water damage had to replaced as they were locking up randomly causing child restraint to get too tight.
CRACKED REAR WINDOW TRIM WHERE THE WINDOW OPENS, DAMP HEADLINER NEAR THE CRACKED TRIM AREA.
WASHING/WAXING TRUCK WHEN CRACK WAS FOUND OVER DRIVER DOOR JAMB WHERE THE ROOF AND THE DOOR SURROUND MEET. TRUCK HAS 11,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN WELL CARED FOR AND NOT ABUSED. ZERO ACCIDENT DAMAGE. FCA HAS ALREADY DENIED THE INITIAL CLAIM BUT IT IS REPROCESSING. ABSOLUTE TEXTBOOK MANUFACTURER DEFECT, BE IT IN STEEL USED OR WELDING PROCESS. CRACK FIRST FOUND ON 8/15/2020, NO IDEA HOW LONG IT'S BEEN THERE.
VEHICLE IS LEAKING WATER THROUGH MY BACK WINDOW SEAL, CAB BRAKE LIGHT AND IT HAS DESTROYED MY HEADLINER. WHEN IT RAINS OR WAKING MY TRUCK IT LEAKS EVERY TIME WHEN STATIONARY OR MOVING.
WATER LEAKAGE INTO THE REAR OF THE CAB. MOLD STARTED GROWING IN THE CARPET. NOTICE IT IS MOR PREVELENT AT SEAM INDICATING ITS BOTTOM UP. ALSO, MOISTURE PRESENT INSIDE CAB WHEN NOT DRIVEN REGULARLY. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS LOCATED ON YOUTUBE AS WELL. NOTICED REAR CAB LOOKS LIKE SEALS ARE NOT SEATED CORRECTLY.
REAR POWER SLIDING WINDOW DEVELOPS CRACKS AT THE TOP ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CENTER GLASS. WINDOW LEAKS INTO CAB WHEN MOISTURE IS PRESENT OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE SUCH AS SNOW, RAIN OR CAR WASH. I AM TRYING TO GET RAM/FCA TO FIX ISSUE BUT THEY ARE NOT CALLING ME BACK. MANY 2019 RAM TRUCKS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE.
I WENT TO OPEN MY TAILGATE AND IT CAN OFF THE HINGES AND FELL TO THE GROUND, PULLED THE WIRING OUT AND SCRATCHED THE PAINT. NOW MY GPS AND BACK UP CAMERA DOESN'T WORK. ALONG WITH INJURING MY ARM SINCE I JUST HAD LIGAMENT SURGERY. IT WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY.
WHEN REACH SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH OR WIND PRESENT, THE HOOD FLEXES INWARDS. IT CREATES A CONCAVING HIGH ON THE HOOD AND COVERS AN AREA OF 12-18 INCHES. THIS CAN'T BE GOOD FOR THE HOOD OR THE PAINT.
TEST DRIVE AT VEHICLE PURCHASE, AND EVERY DRIVE THEREAFTER. VEHICLE MAKES A CYCLIC HARMONIC NOISE/VIBRATION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON ALL SURFACES. NOISE IS SIMILAR TO A VERY LOUD SUB WOOFER BASS WITH VIBRATION THAT CAN BE FELT ON ALL HARD SURFACES. NOISE VARIES FROM SOFT TO VERY LOUD, AND CYCLES IN AND OUT, BUT NEVER STOPS. MY RESEARCH REVEALED AN ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION SYSTEM (ATMM) INSTALLED ON THIS MODEL, CONSISTING OF NOISE GENERATING MODULES FASTENED TO FRAME, DESIGNED TO OFFSET TRANSMISSION AND MDS NOISES. NOISE CAN BE INTENSE, AGGRAVATING AND VERY DISTRACTING. TWO DEALERS HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE NOISE, BUT CANNOT REPAIR IT.
