THE SRVD (BLIND SPOT) NOT WORKING INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON--MEANING THE BLIND SPOT MECHANISM WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED AGAIN WHICH MAY ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PUBLISHED COMPLAINTS AS DETAILED IN CONSUMER FORUMS ON THE INTERNET. THE BLIND SPOT LIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS WILL WILL NOT WORK IF THE SRVD IS NOT FUNCTIONING.
WINDSHIELD SPONTANIOUSLY CRACKED FROM PASSENGER B PILLER TO CENTER. WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE A MOTEL IN AZ ON A COLD, FROSTY RAINEY DAY. I HAD TURNED ON DEFROSTER AND HEATER. AS WE STARTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE FREEWAY , PASSENGER AND I BOTH HEARD A POP AND NOTICED A CRACK RUNNING FROM BEHIND THE PASSENGER B PILLER TO THE CENTER. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE MOVING NEAR MY VEHICLE. SUBARU HAS DENIED CLAIM CLAIMING WINDSHIELD DAMAED BY A ROCK. I HAVE NEVER NOTICE A ROCK STRIKE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BUT NOT IN TRAFFIC- ON ACCESS ROAD.
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN I PARKED AND TRIED TO TAKE KEY OUT. I WAS AWAY FROM HOME. EVENTUALLY, I MOVED GEARS AND I PUSHED KEY INWARDS AND IT RELEASED. I JUST HAD A HEFTY REPAIR BILL BEFORE DISCOVERING RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE ON EARLIER MODELS.
WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED WITHOUT OBVIOUS CAUSE.
THE PIPES THAT CONNECT TO MANIFOLD TO MUFFLER NEED TO BE REPLACED AFTER 50,000 MILES. SUBARU SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANT, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE MANIFOLD.
THE SUNROOF ON THE VEHICLE EXPLODED RANDOMLY. CAUSING GLASS TO GO EVERYWHERE ALL OVER THE CAR WHILE ON THE FREEWAY.
PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, STOPPING WHEN VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED JUMPED CURB AN HIT A TREE, HAPPENED IN A COUPLE SECONDS. ## VIN PASSED ## SUBARU OUTBACK 2015 ##
SUNROOF EXLOSION. ON FEBRUARY 1, 2016 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT ABOUT 8:00 AM RUSH HOUR AND WHILE IN THE MOVING LINE ENTERING THE EASTWARD US I69 AT THE TEXAS HWY 6 SOUTH ENTRANCE IN SUGAR LAND TEXAS, AT AN AVERAGE SPEED BETWEEN 5-10 MPG THE SUNROOF OF OUR 2016 SUBARU 3.6R WITH 11305 MILES EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO HUNDREDS OF SMALL PIECES THAT COLLECTED ON THE SUNLIGHT PROTECTIVE SCREEN. AFTER I TALKED TO MY WIFE AND VERIFIED THAT SHE HAD RECEIVED NO DAMAGE FROM THE INCIDENT I CALLED THE GILLMAN SOUTHWEST HOUSTON SUBARU DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR ON MAY 30 2015 AND MADE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THE NEXT DAY. DURING THE SERVICE CHECK-IN ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016 TOGETHER WITH THE GILLMAN SERVICE CONSULTANT WE LOOKED AS THOROUGHLY AS IT WAS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE GLASS DEBRIS TO TRY TO FIND ANY FOREIGN OBJECT THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE DAMAGED BUT WE DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. I VERY SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED THAT WHEN THE SUNROOF WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR FOR REPLACEMENT THAT THEY PERFORM ANOTHER SEARCH SINCE IT WOULD BE EASIER TO DO THE SEARCH WITH THE SUNROOF ASSEMBLY OUT ON THE FLOOR. WHEN THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND RETURNED THE GILLMAN REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAD DONE ANOTHER SEARCH BUT FAILED TO FIND ANY FOREIGN OBJECT ON THE GLASS DEBRIS. BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE A SUNROOF ON STOCK I LEFT THE CAR ON THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL FEBRUARY 5, 2016 WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED. DURING THE CHECKOUT I WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE CAR WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS ASSUMED THAT A FOREIGN OBJECT HAD CAUSED THE DAMAGE AND I WAS CHARGED $666.34 THE DECEMBER 2017 EDITION OF CONSUMER REPORTS MADE ME REALIZE THAT THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE REPORTED.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH THE SUNROOF CLOSED, THE SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERED SENDING MOST OF THE GLASS OUT OF THE CAR, BUT SOME LANDED ON THE DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND CENTER ARMREST. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES WITHIN A MILE OF IT. WE WERE WEARING SUNGLASSES WHICH PROTECTED OUR EYES. THE CAUSE WAS AND STILL REMAINS UNKNOWN.
VOICE ACTIVATED NAVIGATION SYSTEM. THE VOICE ACTIVATED NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE. THIS COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. I
PASSENGER SIDE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR IS INTERMITTENT (PERHAPS 50%). IT DOES NOT ALWAYS INDICATE THAT AN OBJECT IS IN IT'S VIEW WHEN IT ACTUALLY IS. IF YOU DEPEND UPON THIS DEVICE TO MAKE LANE CHANGES, YOU COULD HAVE A COLLISION. IT FAILS WHILE MOVING AT ANY SPEED ABOVE ABOUT 5-10 MPH AND WEATHER DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A FACTOR. I HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND HE IS UNABLE TO FIX IT EVEN AFTER REPLACING BOTH BLIND SPOT SENSORS. THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW AND CONTINUES TO DATE. THE DEALER GAVE ME A 2016 LOANER MODEL WHEN WORKING ON MY CAR AND IT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
I HAVE AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH SLIDING THE DRIVER'S WINDOW, IT GOES UP AND RAPIDLY GOES DOWN, IT LOOKS LIKE IT DOESN'T FIT TO THE UPPER FRAME, IT IS ESPECIALLY INCONVENIENT WHILE RAINING. THAT PROBLEM APPEARS WHILE DRIVING OR PARKING.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION (ALSO CALLED SRVD) DID NOT WORK WHEN WE PICKED UP THE NEW CAR IN FEB 2015 THE FIRST TIME FROM DEALER. WE DID NOT NOTICE IT AT THE TIME. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY REPLACED A PART AT NO CHARGE UNDER WARRANTY. THE SRVD FEATURE WORKED FOR 6 MONTHS. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE SRVD. IT FAILED AGAIN JUST 2 MONTHS LATER. WE ARE GOING BACK INTO THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME TO FIX THE SRVD.
SRVD SYSTEM KEEPING GETTING DISABLED FROM NO REASON, RANDOMLY.
RIGHT REAR PASSGER WINDOW BLEW OUT AND SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY.
LINES HAVE APPEARED ACROSS MY NAVIGATION SCREEN. LINES MAKE THE SCREEN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE SCREEN ESPECIALLY IN STRONG LIGHT DUE TO THE GLARE. THE BACK UP CAMERA VIEW IS ALSO IMPEDED BY THE LINES AND THE GLARE. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL AS IT IS PART OF THE TOUCH SCREEN. THESE LINES WERE NOT ON THE SCREEN FOR THE FIRST YEAR I HAD THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE LINES APPEAR AT ALL TIMES (WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STOPPED).
SUBARU REAR VEHICLE DETECTION (SRVD) SYSTEM HAS FAILED AFTER OWNING CAR FOR 16 MONTHS. THE 2015 OUTBACK HAS VERY BAD BLIND SPOTS AND PRESENTS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC WITH THIS SYSTEM INOPERATIVE.
I WAS FORCED TO REPLACE A 2ND FAILED WHEEL BEARING (LEFT FRONT WHEEL) ON MY 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK 4CYL. LIMITED AFTER 35270 MILES TODAY 29JULY2016. THE FIRST FAILED WHEEL BEARING TO BE REPLACED OCCURRED ON 15JANUARY2016 INVOLVING THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. IN BOTH CASES ABNORMAL NOISE LEVELS WHILE DRIVING FROM THE RESPECTIVE INVOLVED CORNERS OF THE CAR LEAD ME CONTACT TO DEALER TO CONFIRM SUSPICIONS OF POTENTIAL WHEEL BEARING FAILURE IN THE MAKING. BOTH BEARINGS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTEE CONDITIONS AND I AM FOR THE MOST PART SATISFIED WITH THE REPAIRS PERFORMED. HOWEVER, HAVING TWO BEARINGS FAIL THAT NORMALLY COULD BE EXPECTED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR LEADS ME TO CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS A BATCH OF DEFECTIVE BEARINGS PRODUCED FOR SUBARU THAT MAY ALSO BE FOUND ON OTHER CARS ASSEMBLED APPROXIMATELY THE SAME TIME MY CAR WAS MADE IN DECEMBER 2014 AT SUBARU'S INDIANA ASSEMBLY PLANT. I FEEL THIS IS WORTH A FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY YOUR ORGANIZATION AS MOST CONSUMERS PROBABLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT A FAILING WHEEL BEARING SOUNDS LIKE AND MORE LIKELY HAVE NO IDEA HOW POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IT IS TO IGNORE TO WARNING SIGNS TO THEIR DETRIMENT. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED FOR NO KNOWN REASON. SHATTERED GLASS RAINED DOWN INTO DRIVER COMPARTMENT. SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME. HAD SIMILAR ISSUE WITH FRONT WINDSCREEN CRACKING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. CAR WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY.
THE POWER LIFT TAILGATE DOES NOT OPEN ROUTINELY IN COLD WEATHER. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 40 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE POWER LIFT TAILGATE MAY NOT OPEN OR LOCK PROPERLY UNTIL THE CAR HAS ACHIEVED A STABLE INTERIOR CABIN TEMPERATURE OF 70 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OR HIGHER. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN OCTOBER OF 2015, NOT LONG AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD EYESIGHT SYSTEM RECALL SERVICE. THE PROBLEM IS MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN NOT BEEN RUNNING OR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS DURING COLD WEATHER. I HAVE CALLED AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT SUBARU DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND ALL CLAIM TO BE UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM, EXCEPT IN OCTOBER (2016) ONE SERVICE MANAGER DID STATE HE BELIEVED A BULLETIN ABOUT THE PROBLEM COULD BE FORTHCOMING.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING OUR VEHICLE, A PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING A CHIP IN DRIVERS SIDE. CHIP WAS REPAIRED BY OUR DEALERSHIP, BUT WAS IN LINE OF VISION. WAS EXCEPTING THIS REPAIR, BUT THOUGHT THE WINDSHIELD MATERIAL WAS TOO SOFT OR BRITTLE FOR THIS SMALL REPAIR, NOW HAVE A BROKEN WINDSHIELD FROM CHIP ON LEFT SIDE, NEEDS REPLACING.
WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A18 INCH HORIZONTAL CRACK AT EYE LEVEL STARTED FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE CRACK IS TRAVELING. AIR TEMP WAS IN THE 70'S, NO RAIN OR HAIL, HAPPENED SOMETIME BETWEEN DEC 24-26, 2015. ODOMETER WAS 9200. I SAW ON A CAR COMPLAINTS WEBSITE MANY OTHER 2015 OUTBACKS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND HAVE HAD 3 WINDSHIELDS CRACK. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR THAT HAD THIS MANY INCIDENTS WITH CRACKED WINDSHIELDS
THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED EARLIER THIS YEAR AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CRACK EXTENDED FROM THE UPPER RIGHT TO THE DRIVERS SIDE. LAST WEEK A ROCK HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND WITHIN MINUTES A 2 FOOT CRACK APPEARED (EXTENDS FROM UPPER RIGHT TO THE MIDDLE). THE CRACK IS CONTINUING TO GROW. I'M CONCERNED THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELD.
NOTICED A SMALL WINDSHIELD CRACK AND WAS TOLD IT COULDN'T BE REPAIRED. IT STAYED SMALL FOR A MONTH OR SO THEN SPREAD RAPIDLY WHEN WEATHER HEATED UP. I'VE HAD DINGS BEFORE IN PRIOR CARS' WINDSHIELDS, BUT NEVER A CRACK.
