TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE STRUCK THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND HEAD THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT STAYING ON (STATIONARY AND IN MOTION)
MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON, ON MY DASH FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW. I SEE NO RECALLS, BUT RESEARCHED IT. LOOKS LIKE MY AIRBAGS AREN'T WORKING PROPERLY.
THE LIGHT FOR AIRBAG CAME ON DASHBOARD
MY VEHICLE WAS TURNING LEFT ON A CITY STREET. ITS RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE IN THE INTERSECTION. THAT IMPACT SPUN THE VEHICLE AROUND WHERE IT WAS ONCE AGAIN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. SO, BY THE TIME IT WAS OVER, THE PASSENGER-SIDE QUARTER PANEL, PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR, AND THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE FRONT-SEAT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A STEEL POLE. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT KICKED THE DOOR OPEN AND CRAWLED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A LOT OF INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED VIA AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE POLICE CONTACTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. UPDATED 04/06/16*LJ *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA. WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED FORCEFULLY INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM STRAINED CHEST MUSCLES AND CRACKED RIBS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 178,000.
MY CAR WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, BY A DRIVER THAT WENT INTO OUR LANE, RUNNING MY CAR OFF THE ROAD, WHICH CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO GO UP OVER CURB AND HEAD ON INTO A BRICK WALL. THE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED FROM THE IMPACT OF BEING HIT AND CRASHING STRAIGHT INTO A BRICK WALL. I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT I NEED TO REPORT THIS AND FIND OUT IF THE AIRBAG IS FAULTY. MY CAR IS REPORTED TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE PICTURES FROM THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT TO SHOW HOW THE CAR WENT INTO THE BRICK WALL AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. *TR
OUR SON REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 40 MPH AND THE AIR BAG NEVER WENT OFF CAUSING HEAD INJURIES. HE WILL BE OK BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER HAD THE BAG WORK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION DUE TO HIS HEAD STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. IN ADDITION, HE SUSTAINED BRUISES AND CUTS TO THE HEAD FROM THE BROKEN GLASS. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE BUT A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
UPON IMPACT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHICH WAS AT A FULL STOP, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY CAUSING INJURIES TO MY WIFE, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
MY WIFE HAD AN ACCIDENT, HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THE AIRBAGS IN THE OTHER CAR WENT OFF, THE AIRBAG IN OUR CAR DID NOT. MY WIFE HIT THE WINDSHIELD WITH HER HEAD, CRACKING THE WINDSHIELD AND SIGNIFICANTLY BRUISING HER HEAD. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 30 MPH A VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY AND SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP WHICH CAUSED HER TO CRASH INTO A VEHICLE. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE AIR BAG FAILURE. REPORT NUMBER 1001104565 WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WERE NOT ABLE TO EXPLAIN AT WHAT SPEED THE AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY AND THE OTHER DRIVERS RIGHT KNEE WAS INJURED. THE SAN ANTONIO POLICE REPORT NUMBER IS 0000326. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 125,000. MY SON IN LAW DIED IN THIS CAR IT WAS SAID THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT INFLATE, AND THEY THINK THAT THE TROLLER WAS STUCK. *AK
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA SOLARA. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH UNDERIN WET CONDITIONS IT STRUCK THE REAR END OF A SECOND VEHICLE. HE THEN DROVE OFF AN EMBANKMENT, WENT THROUGH ABOUT 12 WOODEN POSTS, AND CRASHED INTO A BOLDER WHICH CRUSHED THE FRONT BUMPER IN HALF. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POLICE CAME TO THE SCENE AND FILED A REPORT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE PICTURES THAT WERE TAKEN BY HIS INSURANCE COMPANY FROM THE CRASH SITE TO TRY AND DETERMINE IF THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. *AK
ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2006 I PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION AND STARTED MY 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA. THE CAR WAS STILL IN PARK AND HAD NEVER BEEN MOVED. WITHIN SECONDS OF STARTING THE VEHICLE THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED. AS A RESULT OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT I SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LEFT ULNA, NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN (CERVICAL SPRAIN) AND ISSUES WITH HEARING IN MY LEFT EAR. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE!*JB

WHILE DRIVING 25-30 MPH, THE CONSUMER STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING AND ANOTHER MOTORIST VEHICLE T-BONED THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED INJURIES. *AK THE FRAME HAD BROKEN IN HALF AND THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35 TO 40 MPH, THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. ALSO, AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT DIDN'T APPEAR PRIOR TO THE CRASH; DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. *LA
I HAD AN AUTO ACCIDENT WHERE I HIT THE BACK OF A VAN STOPPED TO TURN ON A ROADWAY (LEGALLY) AND I FAILED TO SEE IT UNTIL I WAS RIGHT UPON IT. I HIT THE BACK OF THIS VAN AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR. ALTHOUGH THE VAN WAS HARDLY DAMAGED, MY WHOLE FRONT END OF MY CAR WAS DAMAGED, INCLUDING PARTS OF MY RADIATOR, FANS AND BUMPER, LIGHTS, AND GRILL. HOWEVER, MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE PLACE THAT FIXED MY CAR, CERTIFIED COLLISION CENTER ASSOCIATED WITHOUT THE DURANT TOYOTA HOUSE HERE IN WEATHERFROD, TEXAS SAID THAT ONLY ONE OF MY SENSORS WAS DAMAGED DURING THE IMPACT. NOW I WANT TO KNOW IS MY AIRBAG GOING TO DEPLOY WHILE I AM DRIVING OR WHEN I HIT A BUMP OR POTHOLE AND WHY DIDN'T IT DEPLOY DURING THIS IMPACT? I SUSTAINED BACK AND NECK INJURIES FROM THIS IMPACT. I AM HAVING PHYSICAL THERAPY TO HELP MY THORACIC MUSCLE. I ALSO HIT MY KNEES ON THE DASHBOARD DURING THE IMPACT. I ALSO HAD A LARGE BRUISE AND A SMALL CUT ON MY LEFT SIDE OF MY THROAT FROM WHERE THE SEAT BELT CAUGHT ME. TOYOTA NEEDS TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG AND EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IT DID NOT GO OFF. A 40 MILE PER HOUR IMPACT HIT SQUARELY BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE SET OFF MY AIRBAGS, AT LEAST I FEEL IT SHOULD HAVE. I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE AIRBAG THAT IS PRESENTLY INSTALLED IN MY CAR AND I FEEL THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THESE BACK AND NECK INJURIES IF IT HAD GONE OFF AS IT SHOULD HAVE. I WANT MY CURRENT AIRBAG COMPLETELY REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE SENSORS, BY TOYOTA.*JB
