WHEN I AM MAKING A COMPLETE TURN EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT MY STEERING WHEEL WILL STALL OUT ON ME INTERMITTENTLY BEFORE THE TURN IS COMPLETED. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION EITHER ON A STREET, MY DRIVEWAY, OR TURNING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY
THE STEERING BECOMES VERY STIFF AND DOES NOT RETURN TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION AFTER MAKING A TURN IT FEELS LIKE IT IS NOT POWER STEERING AT ALL. I AM FEARFUL OF PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM

ITS REALLY HARD TO TURN
2018 TOYOTA CAMARY SE. STEERING WHEEL IS STIFF AND LOCKS IN PLACE AS YOU ARE DRIVING AND TURN THE WHEEL SO IT DOES NOT RETURN IF YOU LET GO OF THE WHEEL AND YOU HAVE TO PUT A LOT OF PRESSURE TO TRY AND TURN BACK AND TURN MORE IN TO THE CORNER,
POWER STEERING VERY STIFF AND DOESN'T RETURN TO NEUTRAL AGAIN. HAD HAPPENED SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, WENT BACK TO NORMAL, BUT RETURNED YESTERDAY AFTER A CAR WASH. DIFFICULT TO CORRECT WHEN IN THE DRIVEWAY OR ON SHARP TURNS AFTER STOPPING. 49,000 MILES ON 2018 CAMRY HYBRID LE. WILL HAVE TOYOTA REVIEWS AT 50K SERVICE IN A FEW WEEKS. REALLY VERY DISTURBING.
WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF TO TURN, UNPREDICTABLE, AND WOULDN'T RETURN TO NEUTRAL POSITION WITHOUT EFFORT. SAME SENSE WHILE STEERING IN THE DRIVEWAY. HAPPENED AT ANY SPEED. THE STEERING ISSUE SLOWLY WENT BACK TO NORMAL AFTER A WEEK OR ABOUT 300 MILES. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE TOYOTA DEALER BUT CANCELLED WHEN STEERING IMPROVED AND WILL MENTION IT TO THEM AGAIN AT THE 50,000 MILE SERVICE. *TR
THE CAR HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO STEER. SOMETIMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. THIS WAS INITIALLY FELT OCCASIONALLY WHEN DRIVING AND IS NOW HAPPENING ALL THE TIME. IT FEELS LIKE ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE STEERING SHAFT AND STEERING BOX. ISSUES STARTED ABOUT TWO MONTH AGO AND HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE.
AS I WAS STARTING OUT MY DRIVEWAY THE STEERING SUDDENLY GOT VERY STIFF AND WHEN IT WOULD TURN IT WOULD NOT RETURN TO CENTER, SO I HAD TO DO THAT MYSELF. IT ONLY DID IT ONCE SO I CONTINUED TO MY DESTINATION, BUT WHEN I STARTED HOME IT BECAME MORE AND MORE STIFF AND WAS MAKING A GROWLING NOISE. I DROVE IT SLOWLY HOME AND HAD TO PARK IT FOR NEARLY TWO WEEKS TO WAIT FOR AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE I WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT IT WOULD LOCK UP TOTALLY,. FINALLY GOT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND SERVICE SAID THAT THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS BINDING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A VERY ODD PROBLEM TO HAVE WITH ONLY 47,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE STEERING STIFFENS UP AND THEN RELEASES ABOUT EVERY 5 DEGREES BEFORE STIFFENING UP AGAIN. THIS IS AN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED POWER STEERING.
WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS THE STEERING WHEEL GOES FROM TIGHT TO LOOSE AS YOU MAKE A TURN. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS REALLY TIGHT AND HARD TO TURN. THIS ISSUE STARTED AT 37,429 MILES, WHICH IS CONVENIENTLY 1,429 OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DURING CLEAR CONDITIONS DURING A TURN ON A CITY STREET, THE STEERING BECAME HEAVIER. THE STEERING WHEEL NOW STICKS AT MULTIPLE POINTS AND DOES NOT TURN BACK TO CENTER WITHOUT HEAVY FORCE, IT ALSO RATTLES LOUDLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE 2018 CAMRY HAD APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES WHEN THIS ISSUE STARTED TO HAPPEN.
