2015 Toyota Corolla Structure

Approximately 2022 the driver, front side panel paint began to bubble and come off. I noticed the back hood started doing the same a few months later. By 2023, the roof was doing the same thing. I took it into Young Toyota in Logan, Utah that year and spoke with the service Manager, Russ Otley. He looked at the paint and took some pictures on this cell phone and told me he would call Toyota Customer Care. I don't he ever did because I did not hear back from him. Now it is 2026 and I have send several complaints into both this website and through the dealership manager Russ Otley. The pain is much worse now. Knowing that Toyota has had paint recalls on this issue before, I think Toyota company should get this fixed asap.

Factory paint on my 2015 Toyota Corolla is delaminating and peeling in sheets down to primer on multiple body panels (hood, fender, and door area). There is no impact damage, scratches, or external cause. This appears to be a factory paint adhesion failure. Exposed metal creates corrosion risk and loss of vehicle value. The condition has been confirmed visually by a Toyota dealership, but Toyota corporate denied assistance stating the extended paint program expired. I was never notified of any paint defect program. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while stopped in traffic, white paint chips were floating in the air. The white paint peeled off the trunk lid. Upon further investigation, the prime color had peeled off, and the contact could see the metal part of the trunk lid. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that the warranty on the vehicle had expired, and there was no assistance to be offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

THIS IS A STRUCTURE COMPLAINT. Paint is peeling off of my 2015Toyota Corolla. see attached pictures. Per the Toyota Dealer in Logan Utah, they referred me to you on this issue. I was not made aware of the paint recall that ended in January 2025. I hope this complaint will reopen another recall.

I had a recall on my paint. I took it to the dealership where they denied approval.

I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED BY A DRIVER GOING APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. THE IMPACT SHOVED ME INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS WELL. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND THE INSURANCE ADJUSTERS BELIEVE THE CAR IS TOTALED. I HAD A PREVIOUS ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS T-BONED IN DRIVERS SIDE AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF AT THAT TIME EITHER

THE INTERIOR HAS A SILVER DECORATIVE ACCESSORIES NEAR THE DASH THAT REFLECT THE SUNLIGHT. THE REFLECTION CAN PRODUCE PROBLEMS IN THE VISION ABILITIES, PROVOKING YOU NEED CLOSE YOUR EYES AND KEEP OUT THE LOOK IN THE ROAD.

CAR STARTED HAVING PAINT PROBLEMS AT 3 YEARS OLD. PAINT MISSING ON CERTAIN PROTECTED AREAS OF CAR, WITH PRIMER ONLY (TRUNK AND HOOD AREA.) PAINT ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FORMED BUBBLES ON THE EDGE. PAINT SCRATCHING EASILY ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR. FIRST CAR I HAVE OWNED THAT WAS HAVING PAINT ISSUES AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS. NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS NO DIFFERENT THAN OTHER CARS I'VE OWNED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHROME FINISH ON THE DASHBOARD CREATED A GLARE IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR THAT DISTRACTED THE CONTACT FROM DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLARE WAS PRESENT REGARDLESS OF THE PRESENCE OF SUNLIGHT UNLESS THE WINDOWS WERE DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED THAT WAY AND COULD NOT BE CHANGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. I RENTED THIS CAR (TOYOTA COROLLA 2015) AND WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH ALL THE DETAILS. MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH MANY CARS OVER THE YEARS NEVER BROUGHT ME AN AWARENESS THAT THE TRUNK LID COULD POTENTIALLY DAMAGE MY HEAD, NECK, OR BACK IN A SEVERE AND POSSIBLY LONG LASTING WAY. I NATURALLY OPENED THE TRUNK LID, BENT IN TO PULL OUT MY BAG, AND WHAM! THE LID SLAMS DOWN ON ME.ONE OF THE MOST DAMAGING PARTS IS THE LATCH WHICH PROTRUDES PAST THE TRUNK'S EDGE AND FORMS A TRIANGLE SHAPE. THIS IS WHAT CONCENTRATED THE BLOW DIRECTLY INTO MY SPINE. I HAVE SEEN COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM, "TRUNK LID WONT STAY IN UPRIGHT POSITION" DATING BACK TO 2009. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN FIXED YEARS AGO BEFORE IT WAS ABLE TO INJURE ME? AND HOW MANY UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO BE INJURED IN THE FUTURE? THIS IS WHY I AM TAKING THE TIME TO EXPRESS MY ANGER, FRUSTRATION, AND DISGUST. PLEASE I AM CALLING THIS OUT, DO SOMETHING!
