The vehicle's Super White Factory Applied paint (040) is peeling around the exterior window frame. Took it to local dealership and was advised to speak with Toyota Customer Service who advised that my year had not been included in the SRP 23TE08 with the same issues for years 2016-2022. They asked me to file complaint here so hoping that it can be added to get the repairs approved.
Toyota has a Customer Support Program for white Toyota vehicles with peeling or chipping paint. The program covers vehicles in Blizzard Pearl or Super White that are within 10 years of their production date. The Tacoma is not listed on that recall. However, I am experiencing the very same issue with my Toyota. I took it to the local Toyota dealer and they confirmed the issue.
Paint failure. Rear drives side door where window seal meets door frame. Dimensions 2 inches high by 3/4 inch wide. No rock chip or other damage that would cause paint to fail. Vehicle is white paint color.
Clear coat on roof is coming off
BUSHING BETWEEN TRUCK BED AND FRAME WORE OUT CAUSING BED TO BOUNCE AROUND
PAINT IS VERY WEAK, THIN, AND SCRATCHES VERY EASILY. VERY LOW QUALITY PAINT JOB. CLEAR COAT IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS IS A BLACK TRUCK AND THE PRIMER IS WHITISH COLOR SO EVERY LITTLE SCRATCH SHOWS VERY CLEARLY. A TENNIS BALL BOUNCING OFF THE TRUCK LEAVES SCRATCHES INTO THE PRIMER, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. TOYOTA RESPECTFULLY DECLINED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF CONTACTING COOPERATE, AND THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO SPEAK TO MANAGERS. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, A WHISTLING SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WEATHER STRIPPING OF BOTH DOORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THE WHISTLING SOUND I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR WHILE I WAS DRIVING OVER 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN I HEARD SAME WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR THE NEXT TIME I WAS ON HIGHWAY GOING OVER 55 MPH. THEN IT CAME FROM BOTH SIDES OF PICKUP AND SOUNDED LIKE NOISE COMING FROM BOTH OUTSIDE MIRRORS ON FRONT OF MY TRUCK. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND OTHERS WHO REPORTED SIMILAR NOISE WHILE DRIVING PICKUP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT MY TOYOTA TACOMA IN AUGUST OF 2015 AND THE SERVICE CENTER REPRESENTATIVE, ALAN ADVISED ME THAT TO DATE THERE WAS NO RECALL BUT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WOULD TRY TO DO SOMETHING TO ALLEVIATE THE NOISE FROM FRONT AREA OF THE PICKUP.
