The rear hatch glass exploded when the driver door was shut. Was parked outside out house in our driveway. Not driven all day.
My rear glass mirror shattered. This occurred after I closed the door.
Back window shattered randomly.
This is the second time my rear windshield spontaneously blew out in cold weather after using the rear deicer. This is a known problem pursuant to Acura Service Bulletin 22-014. Instead of replacing the windshield with the. OEM, the component should be redesigned. and recalled.
Spontaneous rear window shattering twice. Danger to the driver and passengers.
The rear window spontaneously shattered while parked. I cut my hand when cleaning up the glass.
There is rust on all door hinges and the vehicle is still under warranty. Crown Acura in Clearwater, Florida said they will NOT fix it under warranty. Outside sources caused the rust on the inside of the door hinges was their statement.
Good day, I bought this car at an auction in the USA, repaired it, and on [XXX], while driving without any foreign objects, the rear window burst, later I found out that this could be a factory defect in these models. Is it possible to receive any compensation from the official dealer for this event. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Our 2020 Acura RDX windshield spontaneously shattered. After reading a bulletin that this is a common issue we contacted our local dealer. We were told it was not a recall and was not covered. We contacted Acura to speak about the issue and were told we could take it to a dealer to determine if a small portion would be covered but even that was not a guarantee. This is an obvious issue with this vehicle.
I was driving my car and had just entered the highway and my panoramic sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gun had went off in my car. I immediately drove to the dealership who informed me that it was not covered under warranty. I had it replaced as I was out of town 8 hours from home and the glass started falling onto the headliner which I kept closed for safety. I did catch the incident on my dashcam which recorded the audio and video through the windshield. There was no warning that it was going to happen and we were not close enough to other vehicles for incidental contact.
Tailgate window randomly shattered with no force or impact to the vehicle and had to replace it with my insurance.
Rear windshield combusted without external impact while parked. There was sharp pieces of glass inside my vehicle. Acura is aware via a service bulletin. It was inspected at Acura service. There were no symptoms for prior warning.
Rear windshield shattered while parked and the car was not running. There was a bulletin only at the time. Called customer service. They advised to submit an insurance claim, which I didn’t do. The dealership disputed with them and ended up replacing it at their cost. Later several others in the area experienced the same thing. Acura acknowledged there was a problem with the rear windshield defroster. I still have pieces of glass within the hatch.
When backing out of my driveway and turning wheel to the left I get two loud popping noises from behind me. Other online reports identify this as a problem with the sunroof. I also have instances where the sunroof does not fully close unless I repush the close button. Dealer rep suggested this is most likely due to an issue with the sunroof.
Reported problem of rear tail gate making loud popping noises First reported at 4454 miles Current reading 21470 miles Gunshot popping noises continue when tailgate opens. Contacted dealer and Acura with ticket numbers Unresolved with incessant diagnosis and false assurances
Opened my Acura RDX car door, sat down, closed the door - and then my rear windshield shattered and collapsed into my trunk. I knew of no damage to it - the car is a 2020, relatively new - This incident caught me my complete surprise. Searched on internet, and see similar complaints from other Acura owners about exploding rear windshields after closing driver side door.
When this RDX’s weight distribution shifts/flexes from turning out of a driveway or any parking entrance with an incline/decline the panoramic moonroof makes a popping sound across the rear of the moonroof. This occurs from both rear corners of the moonroof. The moonroof frame may be knocking around the body of the car due to lack of insulation or the moonroof frame not fitting properly. The problem appears to be fairly widespread with some owners on the Acura Forum site, Acurazine, claiming the popping actually shattered the moonroof glass while driving. The popping sound that I experience daily, combined with the countless similar complaints is what has prompted me to file this complaint. https://acurazine.com/forums/third-generation-rdx-2019-454/panoramic-sunroof-popping-982149/ Hopefully this can lead to an investigation and recall. Thank you.
