Car rolls backwards when stopped on an incline until the brakes are pumped two to three times

I receive a message on my screen stated to shift to park when it is already in park. I have to wiggle the shifter as well as try multiple times before the screen clears. I looked at information stating this is a problem but not to the level of recall but fixed by the dealership. I was told my vehicle did not qualify for the free repair. Wondering why?

I am uncertain of what’s causing this major issue to happen. I see a lot of forums of other customers having the same exact issue and it is a HUGE SAFETY RISK in my personal opinion from experience. For the last maybe 9 months I’ve been dealing with the auto stop feature coming on, then once you let off the break the car doesn’t crank back up. This is very scary in traffic and stoplights much less everywhere!!! I have to turn the key to off and place it back in park, then proceed to crank back up. Only nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME it also will not crank up manually. Also, this issue is not showing ANY check engine codes, so diagnosing this issue has not been resolved. I’ve been stuck waiting 20 minutes or so. Please PLEASE recall whatever is causing this issue for so many of us customers!!!

have a 2014 Malibu with 132,000 miles. . It stalls in traffic, at intersections and stop signs, which is a dangerous safety issue. The Auto Stop will engage and when I put my foot on the accelerator, it stalls out. Also does it right when I start the engine at times.

I have to change sensor for the oil every year. Small battery in the back I have to replace it every year

Auto Start Stop Function (ASSF) malfunction. When releasing foot off brake when (ASSF) was engaged, engine failed to restart. After putting car in park and restarting the engine, it took multiple attempts for car to restart. This has happened numerous times, all of which have been while city driving (i.e. stopping at stop lights, waiting to turn in turn lane, stopped at stop sign) High safety concern for me and for other drivers on roadway. vehicle has been looked at by automotive shop, no definitive answer for the cause. no warning lights or messages appear before/during/ or after malfunction.

It did not cause a wreck/collision but almost has in several instances. The Start/Stop function will activate but then when it's time for the car to start again it will not and my car will go into traffic and then completely turn off to the point I have to hard start my vehicle. This is making the cars engine light stay illuminated and I've replaced several parts and nothing seems to fix the problem. Every person I've spoke with that has the same year vehicle is having the same issue.08

There seems to be problems with the auto stop that can’t be fixed and is not being addressed by Chevy. When your car gets over 100,000 the problems starts. When your car auto stops when it try’s to switch back to running the car shuts off. You have to turn your car off and restart it. Sometimes it takes more than one try to get your car started. Just recently my car stopped and would not restart til the next day. Luckily I was just at a drive thru and the workers had to push me out. I been doing research and this seems to be happening to a lot of people. It’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt. This problem needs to be fixed. Chevy needs to look into this and find a fix it.

My car shut down while behind someone at a traffic light, I had to park car, take key out ignition and but back in then drive. The dealership said I needed new batteries in less than 24hrs and less than 30 miles driven car was doing the same thing. Now sane dealership is saying need a transmission without explanation on what is actually going on. After reading several messages boards it appears this is not an uncommon thing in Chevrolet vehicles with the stop start feature enabled

I’ve had 2 warning messages appear and disappear I now they have been on permanently for the last two days.They messsges are reduced engine power and Service stabilitrac. My car does not seem to want to drive over 40 mph

I TOOK MY CAR TO TWO DEALERSHIPS. MY CHECK EBGINE LIGHT I ON. THEY SAID I NEEDED A ROCKER ARM VALVE SOLENOID . PART NO. 1633613 BUT CANNOT SEEM TO FIND RHAT PART.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN JANUARY 2020, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AND THEN ACCELERATES SUDDENLY WHICH IS A HAZARD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THE FAULTY PART WAS GM# 12633613 ROCKER ARM CONTROL-SOLENOID VALVE. THE DEALERSHIP FRIENDLY CHEVROLET IN DALLAS, TX TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX THE CAR BECAUSE THE DAMAGED PART WAS OBSOLETE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHEVROLET AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE #9-5872869989 BUT AS I TRY TO FOLLOW UP THEY DON'T ANSWER MY CALLS ANY MORE. CHEVROLET JUST GAVE ME SOME WEBSITES WHERE TO FIND THE PART, BUT NONE OF THE SITES HAS THE PART AND I CONTINUE DRIVING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY SOLUTION FROM CHEVROLET AND THEY HAVE JUST SENT ME TO LOOK FOR THE PART IN THE AFTERMARKET OR JUNKYARDS. I HAVE WASTED COUNTLESS HOURS LOOKING FOR THE PART WITH NO SUCCESS. PLEASE HAVE THE MANUFACTURER RECALL THE VEHICLE OR START PRODUCING THE PART NUMBER AGAIN SO MY CAR CAN BE FIXED. GOT CODE P16CF, MALFUNCTION OF ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE. CAME ON WHILE DRIVING, NOW UNABLE TO BUY PART.

PART NO. 12633613 WHICH IS A VALVE IS CURRENTLY ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 23,000 CUSTOMERS WAITING FOR THIS PART. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED IT'S NOT POSSIBLE THAT 23,000. PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NOT BE RECALLED. NOBODY (DEALERSHIP OR GM) SEEMS TO KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT THE PART, WON'T SAY WHO MAKES THE PART OR WHY IT'S ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER.

THIS CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH THE AUTO STOP/AUTO START FEATURE. MEANING WHEN YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE CAR SHUTS DOWN, THEN WHEN ITS TIME TO GO BY RELEASING THE BRAKES IT WILL RESTART AND MOVE AGAIN. WITH MY MALIBU IT WILL AUTO STOP CONSTANTLY AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN IT WON'T RESTART FOR SOMETIMES MINUTES AT A TIME. HOLDING UP TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND CREATING CHAOS. I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK MODE, PULL OUT THE KEY, REINSERT THE KEY AND TRY TO START IT. SOMETIMES IT RESTARTS AFTER ONE TIME OF DOING THIS, BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO FINALLY GETTING IT STARTED. IT STARTED DOING THIS ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND SEEMS LIKE ITS GETTING WORSE. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AND AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THOSE OF OTHERS IN MY CAR AT THE TIME. ROCKER ARM CONTROL VALVE- GM PART # 12633613 . CAUSES CHUGGING, SHUDDERING, SLOW ACCELERATION, DELAY WHEN GOING FROM A STOPPED POSITION (I.E. STOP LIGHT/ SIGN), POOR GAS MILEAGE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON AND WILL NOT ALLOW FOR REMOTE START TO BE USED. DRIVING AT ANY RATE OF SPEED OVER 15 MPH, EITHER IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY/ INTERSTATE, THE ENGINE WILL CHUG OR TRY TO STALL. ALSO GOING OVER 45 MPH, WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHUDDER WHEN DRIVING. ACCELERATION IS DELAYED, CAUSING ISSUES WHILE AT INTERSECTIONS

HVAC CONTROL MODULE. MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED.

CAR HAS PROBLEM WITH AUTO STOP. STALLS AND HARD TO RESTART. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND GETS CODE WITH BRAKE ASSIST. CALLED CHEVY AND THEY STATED MY CAR HAD A RECALL WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE BUT STATES IS CLOSED HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT GET ANY INFO ON WHEN FIXED AND WHERE. CALLED DEALER WHERE BOUGHT CAR AND THEY STATE NO RECALL ON CAR EVER AND NEVER EVEN HARD OF THIS RECALL. CALLED BACK OTHER DEALER AND THEY WILL LOOK AT CAR BUT CANT FOR DAYS AND WONT GIVE A LOANER. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH CAR IS WHT THE RECALL IS. DEALER THAT WILL LOOK AT CAR THINKS IT IS VERY STARNGE THAT COMES UP WITH THIS RECALL BUT CLOSED WITH NO OTHER INFO. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS STALLS AND HARD TO RESTART AND HAVING BRAKE ASSIST ISSUES.

AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CAR STARTS JERKING AND STALLING AND THEN JUST SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT ACTS LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING ANY GAS. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, OXYGEN SENSOR, AND A HOST OF OTHER PARTS AND IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I HAVE TAKING IT TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WHERE I BROUGHT IT FROM, THEY PUT IT ON THE MACHINE SAID IT WAS A PART THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED I HAD THE PART REPLACED AND IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING SHUTTING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE A 3 YEAR THAT IS ALWAYS WITH ME IN THE CAR AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE BEGINNING OF MARCH.

WHEN DRIVING CAR STARTS TO JERK. SOMETIME IT FEELS LIKE A MAJOR JOLT AND OTHER TIMES IT A SLIGHT JERKING FEELING. I'VE COMPLAINED THE 1ST YEAR I GOT THE VEHICLE AND THEN 2 YEARS LATER I ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN IT WAS IN FOR SERVICE PROBLEM WAS NOT DUPLICATED NOR ANY INDICATION OF OF ISSUES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY THE DEALERSHIP. NO WARNING LIGHT INDICATING VEHICLE ISSUE ARE PRESENT. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AND NO ONE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT WHATS GOING ON. THIS REALLY NEED TO BE RESOLVED ASAP.

JULY 16,2016 MY 2014 CHEVROLET MALIBU WAS PARKED IN A PARKING SPACE SPACE AND BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE CAR WAS OCCUPIED WITH A FRONT SIDE PASSENGER AND 2 REAR PASSENGERS. I WAS ABLE TO JUMP IN THE CAR AND PRESS THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR FROM GOING FURTHER. I DO NOT SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL OR THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL. I AM CHECKING AFTER SEEING AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT ON THE NEWS OF THE SAME PROBLEM RESULTING IN DEATH.

MY VEHICLE AT HIGH REVS WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS IT THEN BEGINS TO STALL AND LOSE SPEED. I HAD THE ISSUE INSPECTED BY MY DEALERS AUTO SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD A BLOCKAGE IN MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. NO CODE HAS APPEARED FOR THIS ISSUE.

SIDE VIEW MIRRORS KEEP FALLING OFF. TABS HOLDING MIRRORS IN PLACE ALWAYS BREAK WHICH CAUSES MIRRORS TO FALL OUT OF SOCKETS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH MIRRORS ON VEHICLE AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE.
