TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE DRIVING IN SECOND AND THIRD GEARS, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED SIGNIFICANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROMIN CHEVROLET IN BROMIN, FLORIDA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER MADE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED HARD INTO GEAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOLENOID CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DRUM WAS CRACKED AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL LINE COOLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 67,674. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE IS LEAKING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS COLD THE CRIMPS FAIL AND AUTOMATIC TRANS FLUID IS LOST CAUSING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO BECOME A FIRE HAZARD WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE 4 OTHER PEOPLE I WORK WITH WHO HAVE THE SAME YR DIESEL TRUCK OR PRIOR HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, NOT TO MENTION COUNTLESS OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE THAT I HAVE TALKED TO STATING THE SAME THING. PART NUMBER GM 20759971, GM 20759973, GM20759972. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT I AS A CONSUMER AND EVERYONE ELSE HAVE TO PAY FOR A DEFECT THAT COULD POSSIBLY ENDANGER MY LIFE OR OTHERS IN DAILY COMMUTING. THIS IS WAY TO COMMON TO HAVE US PAY FOR THE FACT THAT THEY SENT US OUT ON THE ROAD WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS AND ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR THERE MISTAKES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICE. THE TECHNICIAN DETECTED DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY. THERE WAS CONCERN OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000. UPDATED 02/13/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES THAT WERE REPLACED BEGAN TO LEAK AS WELL ON OR AROUND JANUARY 2, 2010. THE LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID ENTERS THE ENTIRE COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE CREATING A POTENTIAL RISK FOR A FIRE. THE CONSUMER STATED GM WAS NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE PROPERLY AS THE UPDATED TRANSMISSION LINES WERE FAILING IN THE SAME LOCATION . UPDATED 02/16/10. *JB
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LINES 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH ALLISON TRANSMISSION. FACTORY TRANSMISSION LINES LEAK AND MUST BE REPLACED. WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS COLD, THE LINES/CRIMPS HOLDING THE RUBBER HOSE TO THE PIPES FAIL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID IS LOST, SOMETIMES IN CATASTROPHIC MANNER, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE PROPULSION. REPORTS OF FAILURE ARE EXTREMELY COMMON, AND IT IS NOT UNUSUAL, THAT THE LINES MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES WITHIN THE 1ST 50,000 MILES. GM HAS ISSUED 'NEW, UPDATED' PARTS, BUT THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL PARTS. THE NEW PART NUMBERS ARE 20759971, 20759972, 20759973. WHILE REPAIR IS COVERED ON THE 36K BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, THERE IS NO COVERAGE ON THE 100K WARRANTY. GM SHOULD REPLACE THE LINES FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE 1ST 100K MILES WITH A HOSE THAT WILL NOT FAIL. CONSUMERS CAN TAKE THE ORIGINAL GM LINE TO A HYDRAULIC SHOP, HAVE THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE LINES REPLACED WITH STANDARD HYDRAULIC HOSE SUITABLE FOR ATF FLUID AND THERE ARE NO FURTHER FAILURES. IF CONSUMERS CAN FIX THE LINES, PERHAPS GM CAN FIND A SOLUTION. *TR
MY TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES BEGAN LEAKING 3 MONTHS AGO. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND INSTEAD OF THEM REPLACING THE LINES, THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND LINES AND IT WOULD COST ME $6200 TO FIX IT. *TR
WHILE DOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE TRUCK I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES LEAKING. THE FAILURE IS THE CAUSE OF A POOR FITTING DESIGN ON GM'S BEHALF, AND THEY HAVE NOT COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AN UPDATED PART BUT INSTEAD CHOOSE TO REPLACE THE LINES WITH THE SAME INADEQUATE PART. THE LEAKING LINES HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. *TR
TOOK MY SILVERADO 2500 IN FOR SOME MAINTENANCE AND THE DEALER INFORMED ME THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES WERE LEAKING AT THE FITTINGS FROM THE COOLER LINES TO THE COOLER. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THEY HAVE SEEN A LOT OF, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL AND IT WOULD BE A RATHER COSTLY REPAIR. I DID NOT PAY THE OUTRAGEOUS FEE AND HAVE NOT YET FIXED THE PROBLEM... *TR
LEAKING TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES, FAILURE AT CRIMP BETWEEN RUBBER LINE AND METAL LINE, STARTED AT 11,000 MILES, REPLACED WITH NEW LINES NOW LEAKING AGAIN AT 20,000 MILES. *TR
FAILURE OF HOSE CRIMP IN PRESSURIZED TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE. NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABILITY THROUGH DEALERS (10) OR MANUFACTURER, IS INDICATIVE OF A LARGER PROBLEM. OTHER HOSE FAILURES HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED, BY OTHER OWNERS OF BOTH 2006 AND 2007 MODEL YEARS. POSSIBILITY OF CATASTROPHIC HOSE JOINT FAILURE, AT HIGH SPEED, WITH POSSIBLE RESULTING ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE OR EXPLOSION. HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY INDEPENDENT ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC. DEALER REPRESENTATIVES CONFIRM (UNOFFICIALLY) THAT THEY ARE AWARE A PROBLEM EXISTS WITH THIS LINE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40-60 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED FROM UNDERNEATH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME, THE DEALER DID NOTHING TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND TIME, THEY REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT AND REBUILT THE REAR END. THE THIRD TIME, THEY REPAIRED THE TRANSMISSION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
