WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED UNDER NORMAL STOPPING CONDITIONS THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS SITTING AT A LIGHT WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE FROM THE BACK, PUSHING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE 100 FEET, AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION DUE TO THE LEFT CALIPER STICKING. NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TWICE. ALSO, EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THEY FREEZE UP. BRAKE PEDAL IS BARELY TOUCHED AND BRAKES LOCK INSTANTLY CAUSING OCCUPANTS TO JOLT FORWARD. A VEHICLE CLOSE BEHIND MAY NOT HAVE TIME TO STOP TO CRASH. ABS IS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. *AK

ABS BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE LEFT, AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK
ON-GOING / INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD LOCK UP WHEN EVER VEHICLE COMES TO A SLOW SPEED / TO A COMPLETE STOP. DEALER / MFR. NOTIFIED. SEEKING HELP FROM NHTSA IN THIS MATTER OR PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *AK *YC
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED HARD, VEHICLE WOULD JERK TO LEFT & PULL OFF THE ROAD. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO MECHANIC & HAD NUMEROUS WORK DONE ON BRAKES. FINALLY DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE HOSES ARE COLLAPSING & NEEDED REPAIR. *AK
I HAD ANTILOCK/BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH A 95, AND CHEVROLET REFUSED TO LET ME TRADE THE NEW CAR. BOUGHT ANOTHER 96 AND CONTINUE TO HAVE BRAKE PROBLEMS. *AK
THE SUBURBAN HAS HAD NUMEROUS BRAKE PROBLEMS SINCE NEW, HAS HAD THREE BRAKE JOBS AND MOST RECENTLY REPLACED THE HYDRAULIC BOOSTER ASSEMBLY. POOR DEALER RESPONSE. *AK
FIRST SET OF FRONT DISC PADS REPLACED ON 1/20/98 (29362 MILES ON ODOMETER). GRINDING NOISE ON BRAKING NOTED IN 12/98. INSPECTION ON 12/14/98 BY GMC DEALER FOUND NEED TO REPLACE FRONT PADS DUE TO WEAR (40610 MILES ON ODOMETER). PROBLEM IS EXCESSIVE AND RAPID BRAKE WEAR. WE DO NOT RIDE THE BRAKES. PADS SUBSEQUENT REPLACED BY NON-GMC DEALERSHIP. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP. VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
I CONTACTED CHEVROLET'S CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER SEVERAL TIME BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SATISFACTION. I CONTEND THAT A CRITICAL SAFETY COMPONENT SUCH AS THE BREAK BOOSTER SHOULD NOT FAIL DURING THE NORMAL LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD WERE MADE ABOUT THE PEDAL BEING SOFT. I WAS TOLD THIS BREAKS WERE OK. I KEPT THE PART AND OFFERED TO SEND TO CHEVROLET TO DETERMINE IF WAS DEFECTIVE. MY CONTENTION IS THAT IF A PART IS DEFECTIVE IT SHOULD BE REPLACED REGARDLESS OF THE WARRANTY. IF IT WAS NOT DEFECTIVE THE PART SHOULD BE REENGINEERED TO PROVIDED A FAILURE RATE LESS THAN 10-6. SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED IF THE SPEED HAD BEEN GREATER.
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE PEDAL BECAME HARD OR WENT TO THE FLOOR, ,RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE . THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE VACUUM BOOSTER. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK

EA95-026; WHEN TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A GRADUAL STOP, UPON DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD, RESULTING IN THE CONSUMER GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. DEALER HAS REPLACED VARIOUS PARTS, SUCH AS SHOES/ROTORS. PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. REPAIR INVOICES AVAILABLE. *AK
ABS BRAKES SOMETIMES PULL TO THE LEFT, RIGHT, AND SOMETIMES WORK OKAY. REPLACED TWO TIMES. DEALER STATES PULLING A TRAILER WEARS THE BRAKES OUT. BRAKE SHOES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 20,000 MILES. PROBLEM CANNOT BE DUPLICATED, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK *ML
