I HAVE A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN AND THERE IS A LARGE CRACK ACROSS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH. I AM NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT. UPON READING EMAILS ON THIS AND OTHER WEBSITES, IT APPEARS THAT I AM NOT ALONE WITH THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
DASH BOARD CRACKING AND SPLITTING APART IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS// IT STARTED OFF SMALL, AND IS CONTINUING HEADING FOR THE GAUGE CLUSTER.~~~ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE IT HAS COMPLETED A SPLIT FROM THE DEFROSTER DUCTING TO THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG COVER.
DASH 2 CRACKS. ONE ABOVE STEERING COLUMN AND ONE AT THE TOP LEFT OF AIRBAG.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN TWO DISTINCT PLACES AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT IS NEXT TO THE AIR BAGS
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AND IM WORRIED IT WILL AFFECT AIRBAG. IT CONTINUES TO GET LOOSER BY THE DAY.
DASH BOARD HAS BEEN CRACKING OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS. EVEN THOUGH A SUN BLOCKER SCREEN HAS BEEN USED. OIL HAS BEEN USED WEEKLY SO THAT IT DOES NOT DRY OUT , WHEN I WASH IT. BUT IT STARTED CRACKING MORE AND MORE. NOW THE CRACKS ARE WHERE THE AIRBAGS ARE. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE COMPANY LAST YEAR BUT NO RESPONSE
DASHBOARD HAS COMPLETELY FALLEN APART AND IT IS BROKEN INTO PIECES. IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY (WHICH AIRBAGS ARE ALSO A RECALL), THIS PIECES OF DASHBOARD CAN BE DEADLY PROJECTILES TO MY FAMILY. THE DASHBOARD STARTED COMING APART SINCE 2010. I USE MY VEHICLE DAILY.

THERE IS A BIG CRACK SPANING THE LENGTH OF THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD. STARTSIN THE CORNER AND OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND GETTING BIGGER.
TWO LARGE CRACKS IN DASH, ONE OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE OTHER WHERE DASH MEETS AIRBAG. I NOTICED A VERY SMALL CRACK APPROX FOUR YEARS AGO AND HAS NOW GROWN SUBSTANTIALLY. RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET HAS SHOWN THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, I AM JUST ONE MORE COMPLAINING OF A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW WITH POSSIBLE SAFETY RAMIFICATIONS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. MA 10/25/15
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AT THE FRONT LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT HAS ALSO CRACKED AT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THESE CRACKS ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNING, ESPECIALLY IF I AM IN A CRASH. I AM CERTAIN THAT THE CRACK NEAR THE AIRBAG WILL EXPAND AND CREATE SHARDS OF PLASTIC OR WORSE, PREVENT THE AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING PROPERLY.
CHROME PLATING ON INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES PEELED OFF FROM THE PLASTIC BASE MATERIAL AND CAUSED FINGER INJURY . *TR
DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK AT AROUND 50000 MILES. CONTACTED THE DEALER. QUOTED $1400. CONTACTED GM. WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO PAY $400 OUT OF POCKET AS A DEDUCTIBLE. I COULDN'T AFFORD IT AT THE TIME SO I HAD TO PASS. BUT I FEEL I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A FACTORY DEFECT THAT GM CONTINUES TO IGNORE. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. THIS IS UNSAFE. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WHICH COULD CAUSE SHARDS OF PLASTIC TO AFFECT THE FRONT AND DRIVER UPON THE AIRBAG BEING DEPLOYED. *TR
DRIVERS DOOR HAS HAD TROUBLE CLOSING. HINGE WAS STIFF AND CREAKED LOUDLY. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS JUST TOLD NEEDED GREASED. SO WE CONTINUED TO GREASE WHEN NECESSARY AT HOME. KEPT GREASING THE HINGE. FINALLY THE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT AT ALL AROUND 90,000 PLUS MILES WHEN FIRST NOTICED THE DOOR ISSUE. HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE COME AND HELP CLOSE THE DOOR. THE DOOR TURNED OUT TO BE DEFECTIVE METAL AND NEAR THE HINGE THE METAL HAS TORN ACROSS AND THUS LOWERED THE DOOR TO WHERE IT DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. A SMALL WELD WAS DONE TO HOLD WHILE I PURSUED HELP THROUGH CHEVY TO NO AVAIL AS BY THEN WE WERE OVER 100,000 AND TOLD TOO LATE. I EVEN HAD THE BODY MANAGER TELL THEM NO RUST AROUND HINGE, DEFECTIVE METAL. NOW THE PASSENGER DOOR HAS SAME ISSUE. WINDOWS ARE STARTING TO HAVE TROUBLE CLOSING SINCE DOOR OFF LINE.
DOOR HANDLES ARE ALL COMING OFF ON EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE ON BOTH OF THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS. *TR
MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE INTERIOR SILVER COATED DOOR HANDLES IN MY 2008 SUBURBAN. THE COATING HAS SPLINTERED AND IS CUTTING OUR HANDS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE IN THE 2007 AND 2008 MODEL, WHEN I LOOK IT UP ONLINE. I'M WONDERING WHY A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR SOMETHING THAT IS DANGEROUS TO ME AND MY CHILDREN? IT IS A PRODUCT THAT WAS MADE POORLY AND THEY ARE HAPPY TO CHARGE ME $200 PER DOOR TO FIX IT! IF USE BROKE A MECHANISM IN THE DOOR HANDLE THEN FINE, BUT I'VE NEVER HAD A METAL DOOR HANDLE PEEL BEFORE! I ALSO HAVE A CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD THAT IS NEAR TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, IT IS SLOWLY GROWING. I HAVE A FEELING IF IT WASN'T GARAGE KEPT THAT IT WOULD BE A LOT LARGER THAN IT HAS BECOME. *TR
I CUT MY FINGER ON THE INTERIOR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WHEN EXITING MY VEHICLE LAST WEEKEND. THE METAL LIFTED, MAKING AN EXTREMELY SHARP EDGE. I EMAILED CHEVROLET ON SATURDAY IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON, BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM YET. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, AND I AM NOT SURE HOW TO PROCEED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! *TR
BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CHROME PLATING ON DOOR HANDLES PEELING OFF. MY FINGER HAS BEEN CUT MULTIPLE TIMES BY THE PEELING "CHROME". THE CUT IS SIMILAR TO SEVERE PAPER CUT. MY HUSBAND HAS ALSO CUT FINGERS ON THE DOOR HANDLES. I HAVE TWO VERY SMALL CHILDREN AND WORRY ABOUT THEM CUTTING THEIR FINGERS ON IT. *TR
OUR 2008 SUBURBAN DASH HAS STARTING CRACKING UPON FURTHER REVIEW EXACTLY WHERE MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE ISSUES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR HATCH LOCK WAS NOT OPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A MANUAL RELEASE BUTTON. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR FIRE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
INSIDE DOOR HANDLE CHROME IS PEELING AND HAS CUT OUR HANDS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. *TR
PASSENGER'S SIDE HANDLE OF OUR 08 SUBURBAN KEPT CUTTING PEOPLE'S HANDS ON EXIT. FINALLY HAD DEALER REPLACE FOR $120+. NOW, ABOUT A MONTH LATER, MY SIDE (DRIVER) IS DOING THE SAME THING. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A QUALITY/DESIGN DEFECT AND I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS WHEN I'VE FOUND SO MANY ONLINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. CURRENTLY I'M TYPING THIS WITH A SLICED INDEX FINGER THAT HURTS LIKE SIN. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. *TR
