2008 Chevy Suburban 1500 LT - the dashboard has cracked for no reason. This vehiclas has NOT been in any accident that could have caused this to happen. The cracks have speard now throughout the top of dashboard.
Dash is cracked in multiple places. I am concerned that this would cause a safety issue of plastic projectiles in case of crash and airbag deployment
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN I HAD HEARD A CREAKING NOISE COMING FROM MY DASH AREA OF MY 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, I LOOKED AT THE DASH AND DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING LOOSE OR THAT WHAT CAUSE THIS NOISE. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE, I NOTICED THE NOISE AGAIN AND NOTICED MY DASH WAS CRACKING IN TWO DIFFERENT PLACES. ONE CRACK BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE OTHER ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GAUGE HUMP ON THE DASH.THE CRACK BY THE AIRBAG IS ABOUT AN INCH AND A HALF. AND THE ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG AND STILL GROWING. I TRIED TO SEAL THE CRACKS WITH SILICONE, AND THAT DID NOT WORK.
BROKEN UPPER DASH THAT POTENTIALLY COULD BECOME PROPELLED BY A DEPLOYING AIRBAG CAUSING INJURY TO DRIVER OR PASSENGERS
I'M A OWNER OF A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN AND I HAVE BEEN THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. MY DASHBOARD HAS TWO LARGE CRACKS AND THE ONE I'M MOST CONCERNED ABOUT IS THE ONE THERE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD TO LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC INJURY IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS.
I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN WITH CRACKS IN THE DASH. ONE BY THE AIR BAG AND TWO OVER THE STEERING WHEEL.

CRACKED DASHBOARD IS DANGEROUS IN AN ACCIDENT.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG AND AROUND THE DEFROSTER AND MORE CRACK STARTING. THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR SO MANY.
CRACKED DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 5 PLACES, WHICH IS QUITE A SAFETY CONCERN. IF AIRBAGS WERE TO GO OFF, SHARP CHARDS OF PLASTIC WOULD COME FLYING. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED FIRST CRACK 5 YEARS AGO, ALL THE OTHERS HAVE COME YEARLY AFTER THAT.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. RATTLES, MAKES A LOT OF CABIN NOISE AND IS DISTRACTING. NOT A SAFETY ISSUE PER SE. BUT DASH WAS CRACKED NOW FOR MANY YEARS. WHAT IS GM'S POSITION ON REPLACING DASHBOARD?
THE DASH DEVELOPED MINOR CRACKS INITIALLY AND HAS SINCE CRACKED COMPLETELY ON EACH SIDE OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I AM CONCERNED THESE SHARP PLASTIC PIECES COULD BECOME AIRBORNE DURING ROUGH ROAD CONDITIONS OR CRASH IMPACT LEADING TO SHRAPNEL LIKE SITUATIONS.
I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN FOR THE PAST 3.5 YEARS. THERE WAS A SMALL CRACK THAT STARTED ON THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD WHICH IS NOW A LONG CRACK SINCE IT CONTINUES TO GROW. THERE IS ALSO A CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ABOVE THE AIRBAG. THESE CRACKS WERE NOT CREATED BY CONTACT WITH ANOTHER OBJECT, ACCIDENT, ITEMS LAID ON TOP OF THE DASH, OR VANDALISM. I FEAR THAT IF AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED, THE DASH WILL BREAK APART AND PIECES OF PLASTIC WILL BE PROJECTED TOWARDS THE PASSENGERS CAUSING GREAT BODILY HARM OR DEATH.
DASHBOARD CRACKED ON PASSENGER SIDE AT TOP LEFT CORNER OF AIRBAG AS WELL AS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BEHIND THE INSTRUMENTATION PANEL. CRACKED APPEARS OVER TIME, AT 48,000 MILES AND 62,000 MILES, GM SAID THEY WOULD PRO - RATE THE COST THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY BUT AFTER 100,000 MILES THE REPAIR WOULD BE ON ME TOTALLY.
DASHBOARD CRACKED EXPOSING ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND MAY BE DANGEROUS DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. IT CRACKED ON ITS OWN AND WAS UNTOUCHED.
I NOTICED THE DAMAGE ON YESTERDAY. THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS A CRACK FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM NEAR THE AIRBAG. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT HAS ALREADY CAUSED DAMAGE OR WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRBAG AND/OR CAUSE HARM TO A PASSENGER RIDING ON THAT SIDE. I AM SOMEWHAT CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING IT. I NOTICED IT ON YESTERDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2017. I HAVE READ QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS BY OTHERS INVOLVING DAMAGE WITH THE DASH AREA ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE.
AS WITH MANY SUBURBANS 2007 AND OLDER, I HAVE TWO CRACKS ON MY DASHBOARD - ONE BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, THE OTHER ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I BELIEVE THIS ISSSUE IS VERY WIDE SPREAD. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE? CLEARLY ITS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
THE DASH IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES AND MOST SEVERELY AT THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. CRACK IS ALSO LARGE OVER THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED MOSTLY. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 188,00 MILES BUT CRACKS STARTED APPEARING ABOUT 60,000 MILES.
THE DASH STARTED CRAKING BY THE AIR BAG WHLE PARK IN THE GARAGE AND A COPLE OF WEEKS LATER ANOTHER CRACK APPEAR ON TOP OF THE CLUSTER.
DASHBOARD OF 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN CRACKED IN 2 PLACES, INCLUDING AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND ABOVE DRIVERS SIDE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/STEERING WHEEL. CONCERNED FOR THE PROPER DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG DURING POTENTIAL CRASH DUE TO THE CRACKED DASH THAT SURROUNDS THE AIRBAG. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES POSSESS THE SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE DASHBOARD AND ALL HAVE REPORTED LARGE CRACKS IN THE EXACT SAME AREA. *TR
INTERIOR PAINT ON RADIO BUTTONS, STEERING WHEEL BEGAN PEELING OFF SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.
THE PLASTIC JACK WING NUT THAT HOLDS THE JACK STORED SECURLEY IN THE INTERIOR WHEEL WELL TWISTED OFF THE FIRST TIME IT WAS USED. THE JACK WAS THEREFOR UNACESSIBLE FOR USE. THE LUG WRENCH TWISTED APART WHEN IT WAS USED TO ATTEMPT TO LOOSEN THE LUG NUTS. THE METAL IN THE LUG WRENCH WAS VERY SOFT.
