Transmission issues vehicle shakes while accelerating
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while reversing into a parking space, the vehicle vibrated and made an abnormal sound. Additionally, the vehicle jerked and stalled while driving. The "Check Monitoring System” message was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The transmission was shifted to drive (D), but the vehicle failed to respond immediately. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
on approx 09-18-2020 I was driving from Chicago to Wisconsin Dells, when I was also there the Check Engine light come on, when i got off in Wisconsin Dells you could hear a knocking noise coming from the engine. the next day I had the vehicle towed to Don Larson Chevrolet in Baraboo, WI. they ran a check and informed my the the engine was NO GOOD, The vehicle only had 67,500 miles. GM said that they would pay 50%, but we were still stuck paying the other $4,000.00.
VEHICLE PERFORMANCE DETERIORATED TO THE POINT WHERE ACCELERATION BECAME AN ISSUE FOR PASSING, EXPRESSWAY ENTRANCE ETC., AND FUEL ECONOMY WAS DIMINISHED. FINALLY SET A MIL INDICATING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS PLUGGED. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING ABOUT 18,000 MILES IT NOW HAS THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND MILES ON IT AND IT'S STILL AN ISSUE. IT GETS SO BAD TO WHERE THROWS YOU FORWARD WHEN IT SLIPS. IT SLIPS BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. I'VE HAD IT INTO THE CHEVY DEALER MANY TIMES THEY SAY THAT'S NORMAL. HOWEVER A TRANSMISSION SLIPPING IS NOT NORMAL. THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN THE SNOW, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE VENTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER, OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR, AND FOUND SMOKE RISING FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT MOVED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND, MOMENTS LATER, IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS PRESENT AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. ON FEBRUARY 19, 2019, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RHINELANDER GM AUTO CENTER (1935 NORTH STEVEN STREET, RHINELANDER, WI 54501, (715) 365-8100) FOR INSPECTION BECAUSE THE CONTACT NOTICED A SMOKE ODOR. THE DEALER SMELLED SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT UNDER THE HOOD, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ODOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5089683949. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
MY ENGINE, WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, MADE A LOUD CRANKING NOISE. IT SOUNDED LIKE LARGE METAL PIECES GRINDING TOGETHER. THE ENTIRE CAR WOULD THEN RUMBLE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. AFTER SITTING FOR A WHILE IT WOULD STOP. THE RUMBLING WOULD HAPPEN ALMOST EVERY TIME MY VEHICLE IS AT A STANDSTILL. IT WOULD ALSO DO A JERKING MOTION WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THE GM REPAIR MECHANICS SAID IT WAS A SMALL VALVE. THEY REPLACED IT BUT THE SAME THING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. MY CAR WAS BRAND NEW WHEN I PURCHASED IT IN 2017.
