MY CAR WAS ACTING LIKE IT HAD BAD GAS. I TOOK TO T HE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD IT FOR DAYS AND SAID TRANSMISSION. I AM AT 45,000 MILES ON THIS CAR. THEY HAD MY CAR IN LAST MONTH AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT OR SO THEY SAID. YOU DID SAY THERE WAS A RECALL/PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION ON THE 2017 2018 AND 2019 TRAVERSE. IS MINE COVERED TO BE FIXED?
The vehicle is having issues recognizing when I shift it to park. It is dangerous because I don't know if it is really in park or not. There was a warning saying : "action required shift to park " when I already shifted it
Shift to park
I had the alternator replaced in 4/2023 and already have to have it repaired again in 7/2025. Hole in exhaust pipe as well. Chevy traverse 2019 Vin - [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Shift to park issue the car is in park but when I shut the car off it is telling me shift to part on my dash not allowing me to shut my car off all the way at first I was able to just tap the shifter and that worked after a few weeks I had to keep restarting my car and try to get the shift to park to go away and for the car to shut off all the way. I finally was able to get it into the dealership where I showed them a photo on my phone what it was doing the said even with the picture they would still have to running a diagnostics on it charging me $160 for along with the repair I feel they know the issue we should not have to pay for diagnostics test
Chevy traverse 2019 second time tried breaking down on the highway. First incident engine light came on. The vehicle slowed down and would shake pushing on the gas pedal. The moment the car arrived at the destination is stop working. Second incident it stop on the highway and would go on drive or reverse. Had to stop the car and turn it back on while on the freeway. The car drove for 1 hour then when the car stop at the stop light it had a hard time driving had to push all the way just to get it drive slow. It had a hard time moving but it tried. The emission warning would come on but then would disappear. The vehicle never received a recall.
Intermittent warning “shift to park”. Vehicle doesn’t shut off. It’s in park. Luckily it has a feature that shuts the car off after some time. I have to use the key fob to lock the doors. Began march of 2024 and is still occurring. Known GM issue. It sure why no recall
I had 1 air conditioner stop blowing cool air and it was covered on the warranty. In 2023, my AC stopped working again and had to be replaced again. Recently, my AC went out again. All three times it stops blowing cool air. I only have $70k miles on it.
My 2019 Chevrolet Traverse when putting my car in park to turn off the vehicle. The dashboard is telling me to put my car in park when it is already in park. Then the car doesn’t shut off completely and it kills the battery. The parking assist is a safety issue. If in fact my vehicle isn’t noticing the car is in park then it’s a safety concern. This needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt.
My 2019 Traverse has cut out since I have had it. When you first take off it starts jerking slightly. It has gotten worse over time. It also, gives me a Shift to Park error when the car is in park. I had to have the alternator replaced at 10,000.
I have a Chevy Traverse. When I shift into park. There is a display that reads " shift to park" It takes a while for that to disappear. It seems like it is getting worst. How can that be fixed?
Shift to Park message on the dash when attempting to turn the vehicle off (in park). Known issue for GM vehicles and safety issue because you can't turn the vehicle off or lock it and it continues to get progressively worse to the point you can't leave the vehicle, and I am getting worried the vehicle may not actually be in park. This is a known issue that costs around 1000 to fix and should have been corrected when it was discovered years ago to prevent issues with the vehicle.
Vehicle: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse High Country Mileage at Failure: ~68,897 miles Problem: Rear auxiliary evaporator leaked refrigerant, causing the A/C to blow warm and fail. Safety Concerns: Loss of cooling performance in high summer temperatures → potential heat stress risk for passengers, especially children and medically vulnerable occupants. Refrigerant leaking inside the vehicle → potential inhalation exposure for occupants. Diagnosis: Dealer confirmed refrigerant leak from rear evaporator; repair cost $1,763.05. GM Awareness: GM has published TSB 16-NA-046 and PIT5335A describing this exact failure mode (evaporator corrosion from blower motor copper dust), but has not issued a recall or extended coverage.
When I shift into park the vehicle is fully stopped and in park, but after I shut the vehicle off it beeps and the dashboard informs me I need to “shift to park”. The vehicle will continue to beep and won’t lock properly until I mess with the shifter enough to get it to register that I’m in park, sometimes taking minutes and multiple restarts. This seems to be a common issue in this vehicle based on a simple Google search, which tells me this is a manufacturer issue and should be recalled. I’m worried the whole shifter is going to malfunction. This is a safety issue and has caused me to almost be late in many instances because I can’t leave my vehicle.
I go to shift my vehicle into park and it stays on. I have to hit it for it to turn off. After two weeks of this it gets a little tiring. Help
When trying to shut off vehicle, the car says “ Shift to park” Even though the car is already in park and battery won’t shut down.
When shifting to Park error, the car will not turn off and on. This should be a recall! It affects many models and is well documented. They start with the sensor and eventually replace the whole transmission to try to fix the issue. This should not be on the customer! This is a Defect!
Shift to park message when turning car off.
Shift to park message
After car is parked and turned off, a message comes on "shift to park" and I'm unable to get out and lock the car.
I have repeatedly had to deal with the shift to park sensor not allowing me to shut my vehicle off. I am clearly in park but the alert of “shift to park” begins when I try to power my traverse off. It is coming particularly worse and at times will not allow my to power off.
First time occurrence , while driving on highway when all of a sudden the vehicle begin to forcefully jerk then immediately after we heard loud thump. The “D” gear that’s seen in dash begin to flash and the car lost acceleration. Took truck to Chevy dealer, obviously not repaired. Second occurrence, driving on highway and all of a sudden again, the vehicle jerks, the “D” gear seen in dash begin to blink and truck lost acceleration. Warning lights appear at random times include park brake, then says park brake release, power steering reduced message, check engine light illuminates. We had to park the truck and pay for a rental car, as we didn’t feel safe to drive for 6 hours to our planned family vacation in Orlando. For this to happen and then happen again after extensive work at the Chevy dealer definitely put my family and I at severe risk each times because the car would not move while on a busy highway, dangerous to say the least. We have multiple service records and mentioned the initial occurrence that we thought was fixed but apparently there is a major issue . Disappointing that I don’t feel safe putting myself or my children in my own truck, for the fear of it happening again. Please help!
Recall N212356540 does not include the second flex pipe and gasket. I have spoken with several owners & dealerships who state this pipe is bad as well. My personal vehicle has a hole in the 2nd flex pipe that's not covered by the recall. The fumes inside the vehicle are suffocating.
Shift to park issue. Vehicle again has shift to park issue after it was already been repaired. Causing vehicle to be stranded or not being able to be shut off.
When putting my car in park, I constantly get the alarm started and I have an error message that says “shift car to park”. I then need to restart and shift several times before the error message ends.
