Driving down the road on 2 different instances and the head rest deployed on its own fist the driver side next the passenger side. Can’t be reset the clip inside broke. Do accident at all.
The contact's fiancé owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon start of the vehicle, the front, passenger side headrest air bag deployed without impact. The contact stated that the air bag hit the contact's fiancé in the neck. The contact's fiancé had suffered from neck pain as a result of the incident, but did not seek medical assistance. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and was given the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. The VIN was not available.
The active headrest failed. It is a safety issue due to it failing out of nowhere with no signs of an issue. It broke free and pushed my head forward aggressively causing neck pain. I am a licensed mechanic and verified the cause of failure.
Passenger Occupant Detection system is faulty. Airbag service system indicator light comes and goes. The vehicle has been seen by an independent service center and they say this is a common issue with dodge and thus issue should be covered by dodge.
Passenger seat Headrest popped out for no reason. Got a headache from it cause of the impact it caused. Was only driving in my neighborhood at 25mph. No accident occurred
While driving down the road the passengers headrest exploded and now I can’t get it to close back. Almost caused an accident.
Air bag stating it needs serviced the light will come on periodically it is not present every-time vehicle is driven.
1. I had just entered my 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel and shut the driver side door when the driver side headrest safety restraint burst open unexpectedly hitting the back of my head and thrusting it forward. Thus far, I have suffered muscle pain and soreness requiring an x-ray and some medications. 2. I had not yet started the engine. The car was sitting still in the parking lot and it was not running when the incident occurred. It frightens me thinking how bad this could have turned out had I been driving down the interstate at 70 mph or if one of my grand daughters had been sitting in that seat. 3. Post incident my husband drove the vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased, they removed the headrest and informed him Dodge had issued an extended warranty on the headrest so there would be no charge (the headrest is still at the dealership). They had to order a new headrest however, they sent him home driving the Dodge Durango with a disabled airbag system (UNSAFE). This has been a known issue with Chrysler-Jeep-DODGE since 2010 and there has been no recall. 4.The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. I have notified my insurance company and Dodge Customer Service. There were NO warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. 5. I have a call in to the dealership requesting a loaner vehicle to drive as mine is unsafe with a disabled airbag system.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while the driver was driving at 35 MPH with the contact seated in the front passenger’s side seat, the front passenger’s side headrest was inadvertently deployed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact sustained a headache but did not seek medical assistance. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense because the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure via email. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
As the driver, I reached into the back seat to hand my son something and both front seat head rests deployed! There was not accident or anything that should have caused this. This could have hurt me if my head was rested on the head rest at the time and now I have two head rests that are deployed and can’t fix them! I shouldn’t have to pay for something that shouldn’t have happened without an accident occurring.
My driver head rest seat deployed without an accident. It’s very difficult driving this way and unsafe
Active head restraint randomly deployed on passenger headrest under normal driving conditions.

ON APRIL 26, 2020 THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED WHILE IN OPERATION AT NORMAL CONDITIONS/SPEED LIMITS (30-35 MPH) ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES WERE INCURRED, HOWEVER THE HEAD REST HAS BEEN FULLY DETACHED AND IS NOW HANGING OPEN, REVEALING ALL EXPOSED MATERIALS INSIDE. PER THEDODGEDEALERSHIP AND MOPAR (EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICES), REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED AND THERE WOULD BE OUT-OF-POCKET CHARGES FOR PARTS AND SERVICE UP TO $900. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, THIS COSTLY SAFETY ISSUE IS BEING EXPERIENCED BY OTHERDODGEVEHICLE OWNERS SOME OF WHOM HAVE GOTTEN THE FCA TO COVER ASSOCIATED COSTS; AND THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN FL AS OF FEB. 2020. HOPEFULLY THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT AND AN UNREASONABLE SAFETY RISK IS GRANTED A RECALL TO REMEDY THE SITUATION SOON BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. PLEASE SERVICE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION AND WARNING INDICATOR WILL COME AT START OF VEHICLES.
THE SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT KEPT COMING ON EVERY TIME I DROVE IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WIRING HARNESS AND PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG AND THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED. SINCE THIS WAS A DEFECT I FELT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BUT BECAUSE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT I HAVE NO CHOICE. NOT RIGHT!!
THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING AND LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON FOR A WHILE (LIKE 2 TO 3 WEEKS) THEN JUST DISAPPEARS WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY.
SINCE APPROXIMATELY 32,000 MILES THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS ILLUMINATED RANDOMLY. AFTER 48,000 MILES, THE LIGHT TURNS ON ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING AND WILL STAY ON AND DING RANDOMLY DURING THE DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED IN STORED MEMORY MODE, WHICH MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE SIDE AIR BAGS WERE MALFUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000. UPDATED 04/14/16*LJ *TR
