The vehicle was taken to the dealer for an advancetrac repair however, the transmission failure was not diagnosed. TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUES SHIFTING AFTER SLOWING DOWN AND THEN SPEEDING BACK UP. IT IS JERKY AND TRANSMISSION LIGHT COMES ON .SOES IT AT HIGH SPEEDS AND AT SLOWER SPEEDS. WAS RANDOMLY DOING IT BUT DOES IT DAILY NOW.

EXITING OFF THE FREEWAY AND CAR LOST POWER WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND WRENCH ICON CAME ON
VEHICLE HAS 54,096 MILES ON IT. POWER TRANSFER UNIT FAILURE AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE. NOTICED A NOISE, TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR BEFORE IT GOT WORSE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN AND COMMON ISSUE. VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR WITH LOW MILES.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER. THE ENGINE RPM WOULD INCREASE AS WELL AS THE SPEEDOMETER BUT NO MOVEMENT. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO MOVE WITH THE VEHICLE IN PARK. TOWED TO SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AXLE RETAINER CLIP HAD FALLEN OFF AND THE CV AXLE AND IT SLID OUT OF THE THE INNER SHAFT AND STRIPPED THE ENTRY TEETH AND THE END OF THE CV SHAFT. KNOWN PROBLEM ON 2012-14 FORD EDGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 8 MPH, THE REVERSE SENSORS WENT OFF. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND BACK UP CAMERA WENT BLANK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE GEAR BECAME STUCK IN REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED INTO THE VEHICLE IN THE REAR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF UNTIL IT BECAME OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS NOT RECOGNIZING WHAT GEAR WAS SELECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDWEST KIA (8725 W KELLOGG DR, WICHITA, KS 67209, (316) 448-8493), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO KAYSER FORD LINCOLN (2303 W BELTLINE HWY, MADISON, WI 53713, (608) 271-6000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND ACCELERATOR DID NOT FUNCTION. NEEDED A NEW THROTTLE BODY MOTOR ASSEMBLY. FORD ESTABLISHED "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" IN LIEU OF A RECALL FOR OTHJER FORD MODELS BUT THE EDGE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN SUCH.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN TRAFFIC, THEN IT ALL OF A SUDDEN CUT OFF, I ABLE TO RESTART AND MOVE A SHORT DISTANCE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP NEED COMPLETE POWER TRAIN REPLACEMENT, WATER PUMP, POSSIBLY ENTIRE NEW ENGINE.
SHIFT TO PARK WARNING INDICATOR KEEPS COMING ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE IS SHUTOFF. THIS CAUSES THE WHOLE CLUSTER TO LIGHT UP AND WILL EVENTUALLY RUN THE BATTERY DOWN LEAVING A PERSON STRANDED. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS IT OCCURS ON SEVERAL MODELS. THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS DEFECT IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,412.
MY TRCT CNTRL LIGHT HAD COME ON A FEW MONTHS AGO, I HAD NOT GOTTEN IT FIXED YET AND AS I WAS DRIVING HOME THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND MY CAR STOPPED. I TOOK IT IN, AND AS TOLD IT WAS A BAD FUSE. A FEW MONTHS LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, HIT A SMALL PUDDLE THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND I STALLED IN THE FAST LANE ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS NOT HIT BUT I COULD OF BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIS IS BECOMING A HUGE PROBLEM!

THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAR DRIVING AT ANY SPEED WILL ABRUPTLY SHOW YELLOW WRENCH, LOSE POWER AND ACCELERATION, STEERING BECOMES HEAVY AND YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THE NOW SHAKING CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD. AFTER SWITCHING OFF IGNITION, WAITING TEN SECONDS, IT RESTARTS AND RUNS PERFECTLY FOR ANOTHER FEW WEEKS. DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPLICATE ISSUE. MY RESEARCH POINTS IN THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ISSUE. HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 12 TIMES IN 18 MONTHS. EACH OF DIFFERING TERROR AND DANGER, BUT NO-ONE CAN HELP, DESPITE OTHERS ONLINE HAVING SAME ISSUE.
DURING ACCELERATION THE CAR SHAKES, LOSES ACCELERATION AND CUTS OUT. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES THIS WEEK (IN TRAFFIC) TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO KICK ON THE HAZARDS REALLY QUICK AND FIND MY WAY TO SAFETY. ONCE IT IS CUT OFF, PUT IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT ACTS LIKE NOTHING WAS EVER WRONG. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT COMES ON IT THE YELLOW WRENCH ON THE DASH WITH NO OTHER WARNINGS OR INFORMATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING MAINTENANCE PERFORMED, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE PRESSURE PLATE CRACKED AND AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,950.
WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN PARK, THE P IN THE DASHBOARD DOES NOT TURN RED AND I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE IN THE DASH THAT THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET THE GEAR SHIFT TO SHOW THE P IN RED, IT RUNS YOUR BATTERY DOWN. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD EDGE; HOWEVER, THE ONLY ONES COVERED TO BE FIXED BY THE DEALER ARE 2012 THRU 2016. WHY WAS THE 2011 FORD EDGE NOT INCLUDED IN THE CORRECTION REQUIRED OF FORD DEALERS? WILL IT BE ADDED TO THE LIST SOON?
HAD LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH NO WARNING. WRENCH LIGHT ON DASH COMES ON AND CAR SLOWS TO APPROXIMATELY 10MPH. ACCELERATOR HAD NO RESPONSE, BRAKES AND STEERING STILL WORKED.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND FELT VERY UNDER POWERED. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. AFTER RESTARTING THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SCENARIO. HOPEFULLY FORD MAKES IT RIGHT AND HAS A RECALL FOR THIS COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO PARK. DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEE TOLD ME THAT THIS HAPPENS SO OFTEN IN FORD EDGE AND EXPLORER THAT THEY HAVE TO KEEP THE AFFECTED PARTS IN STOCK CONSTANTLY. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY DEFECT AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD BE LEFT IN GEAR WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION BEING LOCKED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD CORRECT THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH RESULTS.
