[XXX] No accidents thank God no accidents have occurred. The vehicle was not starting and the Ford Dealership ultimately diagnostic the issue to be repaired needed an Instrument Cluster Panel. Dealership advised there was no open recall for my 2014 Ford Escape Titanium with the 1.6L was not eligible for the vehicle under the terms of the 15V406- despite the fact the production date noted in the RECALL notification was May 19, 2014 through Feb. 6, 2015. The production timeline for VIN: [XXX] (my Ford Escape) was Feb. 12, 2013 through Sept. 2, 2014. The Instrument Cluster Panel was replaced at a cost of over $3000.00. That service was completed around the first of July 2025. A very expensive repair especially it appeared it should have been cover under RECALL 15V406, although necessary to ensure my college student daughter was driving a safe vehicle. This complaint is to express my concern, however, it is for other 2014 Ford Escape Titanium 1.6L owner's who may be unsafely driving around with a malfunctioning Instrument Cluster Panel that they can not afford to pay out of pocket. When they were unfortunately being denied the repair as required under RECALL 15V406 because the appearance that Ford Motor Company has been negligent in correctly identifying all of the 2014 Ford Escape Titanium 1.6L which increases the risk of a car crash especially the young inexperience drivers. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Electrical issue for headlight having to replace the socket and lightblub everytime the light blub goes out. Every 2 months. Back up camera not working, blue screen, glitches, upside down, or says rearview camera not working.
2014 Ford Escape. Shortly after the warrant period ended the back-up camera stopped working properly. The picture is Intermittent, upside down, and stops working completely. No accident yet but very unsafe. Ford is aware of problem and conducting a recall, but my vehicle is not part of the recall. The dealer is aware of this problem and tried to fix it. Please require ford to expand the back-up camera recall to ALL vehicles with malfunctioning cameras.

The control visual display above the steering column went totally white. I noticed that there is a recall for this same defect on 2014 Ford Escapes, but the dealer checked and said my vehicle wasn’t included in this recall. This display shows you all important functions your car is doing, but being it is pure white you cannot tell a lot of important information that you would normally see.
My instrument cluster/panel went out on my car. I know I have a 2014 but my car only has 89,000 miles on it. I cannot imagine that something as important as an instrument cluster/panel was made to last under 100,000 miles let alone ever. So I looked for a recall and was excited to know that I would not have to pay for such an expensive repair. It was short lived however when I realized that my vehicle having a manufacture date of 02/12/2014 was not included in the recall which is for May 2014 - July 2015. Seriously this is unbelievable to me. I had to pay $1,130.18 to fix this and I can't believe that others have not had the same problem.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the LED Instrument panel flickered and then became inoperable. Back up camera at times is showing upside down view, sometime squiggle lines, and sometime a message that reads camera not available. I have become used to using the camera and rely on it for backing up in in parking lots and such. I grew up using the mirrors and can still do that but the camera give extra security. My vehicle has about 78,000.00 , the camera should not be acting up. I have taken it to the local dealer and got a large quote to replace it. I did see on the news last night about a recall on this issue, but my year model was not included. This started about eight months ago. I had no idea I could file a complaint until today after calling Ford directly and being transferred to National Highway Safety Division. I am always available if someone want to inspect my vehicle. I don't drive much, as you can tell a 2014 with 78,000 miles, but when I do i like to feel like I can rely on the safety features of my vehicle.,

I drive a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium. My battery keeps draining and my car won't start. I tested my battery and it tested 12/14. Next week, car wouldn't start again. Got my car tested and stated that there is an unknown code meaning that the ECM is faulty. This falls under recall 15V40600 or what now could be 22V413000. My car isn't covered under the recall being two months shy of the production date. Additionally, I've had issues with the cooling system since I purchased the vehicle. Again, this isn't covered under the recall either.

I had a faulty instrument cluster repaired, which apparently is a recurring issue with this model of vehicle. In fact, my car is only 3 months outside the period that would have qualified it for a recall for this exact issue. It’s clear that this vehicle should have qualified for recall, as the mechanic who repaired it was happy to admit. Myself and other Escape owners who have experienced this same issue with slightly newer cars should be eligible as well.
