TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE STARTING THE IGNITION, ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THOROUGHBRED FORD (8501 N BOARDWALK AVE, KANSAS CITY, MO 64154) WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.

FORD EXPDETION LEAD FRAME RECALL. I EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT IN MY VEHICLE. THIS WAS ATTRIBUTED TO LEAD FRAME ON MY CAR. THIS ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED BY A RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED.
MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DOWN IN SITUATIONS IT SHOULDN'T. IT ALSO DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST I AM GOING. THIS CREATES AN ISSUE WITH STEERING. I TRIED TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME SO I COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM FOR THEM. THE PROBLEM ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I AM TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS (60-80) AND USUALLY WHEN I HAVE BEEN GOING UP AND DOWN MOUNTAINS IN MY AREA. IT HAPPENED VERY FREQUENTLY WHEN I USED CRUISE CONTROL IN THE PAST AND I START GOING DOWNHILL. I STOPPED USING CRUISE CONTROL BECAUSE OF THAT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION. ON APRIL 3, 2018, THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WORSENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ABOVE 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
I HAVE THE SAME YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, TRANSMISSION AND THE SAME EXACT UNEXPECTED MALFUNCTION WITH THE LEAD FRAME AS WHAT THE RECALL NUMBER 16S19 IS FOR HAPPENED 3 SEPARATE TIMES. ONE TIME WAS WITH MY WIFE, TWO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 5 AND MYSELF ON A BUSY ROAD RIGHT AFTER A DOWNHILL BLIND CURVE WHERE MANY BAD ACCIDENTS HAPPEN FROM SPEEDERS. THE REASON MY VEHICLE IS NOT BEING RECALLED BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED LESS THAN 60 DAYS AFTER THE RECALL DATES FOR THE MALFUNCTIONING VEHICLES. SO I HAVE TO COME PUT OF MY POCKET $750+ TO GET IT FIXED WHEN FORD MOTOR COMPANY WHO I HAVE BEEN WITH FOR 15 YEARS NOW IS REFUSING TO ACCEPT THAT THE PROBLEM IS STILL ACTIVE IS OTHER EXPEDITIONS OUT SIDE OF THE DATES OF THE 2012 RECALLS. ALL IT'S GOING TO TAKE IS JUST ONE TIME FOR SOMETHING BAD TO HAPPEN OR ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND I WILL BE SEEING FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN COURT. I AM SO BOTHERED BY THIS, I HAVE REACHED THE POINT TO WHERE I WILL MOST LIKELY NOT GIVE FORD ANOTHER PENNY OF MINE.
ON A BUSY STREET THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER. IT WAS STRUCK IN A LOWER GEAR AS WE WERE ON A ROAD THAT HAS TRAFFIC GOING AT 55 MPH. THIS OCCURRED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.
VEHICLE, WHILE TRAVELING, WILL DOWNSHIFT INTO LOWER GEAR AND CLUNK. YELLOW WRENCH WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND SPEEDOMETER WITH DROP TO ZERO ALL WHILE STILL MOVING. A SERIES OF ADDITIONAL WARNING LIGHTS WILL APPEAR. VEHICLE WILL LOOSE POWER TO ONLY LIMP MODE. WARNING WILL RESET UPON SHUTTING OFF ENGINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE.
OUR 2012 EXPEDITION IS EXPERIENCING REPEATED INTERMITTENT LOSS OF TRANSMISSION OUTPUT AND UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR (AS NOTED IN THE FORD RECALL NOTICE DATED APRIL 2016). THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY RISK FOR OUR FAMILY. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED FORD, BUT THE RECALL HADN'T BEEN ADDRESSED. TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM, WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THEY MADE THE REPAIR SPECIFIED IN RECALL NOTICE (CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING), BUT THAT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM: THE INTERMITTENT LOSS OF TRANSMISSION OUTPUT CONTINUES. NOW THE RECALL NOTICE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM OUR RECORD AND THE RECALL NOTICE IS NO LONGER ASSOCIATED WITH VIN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE NEED THIS TO BE REPAIRED!
VEHICLE RANDOMLY DOWN SHIFTING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED CAUSING REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP. SAME EXPERIENCES AS LISTED IN APRIL 27, 2016 RECALL NOTICE. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN SAME MANUFACTURED PLANT BUT A FEW DAYS OUT OF THE RECALL DATES FOR VEHICLES. TRANSMISSION KEEPS SLIPPING WHILE IN MOTION OF VEHICLE. NO ACCIDENTS OCCURRED BUT SEVERE SAFETY CONCERNS AT THIS POINT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE RECALL REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT LEGACY FORD OF MCDONOUGH (LOCATED AT 413 INDUSTRIAL BLVD, MCDONOUGH, GA, 30253), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THE NEXT DAY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT SHE WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE COULD TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANY OTHER FORD DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT CALLED A CLOSER LOCAL DEALER (COURTESY FORD LOCATED ON 1636 DOGWOOD DR SE, CONYERS, GA, 30001). WHILE DRIVING TO THE SECOND DEALER, THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO, THERE WAS A JOLT, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 30 MPH. AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK, THE SECOND DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 12629998. THE CONTACT ALSO INQUIRED ABOUT A LOANER VEHICLE, WHICH WAS DENIED DUE TO NOT HAVING DIAGNOSIS RESULTS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
MY 2012 EXPEDITION LIMITED HAS 102,000 MILES. IT HAS BEGAN TO DOWNSHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY IN THE RANGE OF 15MPH TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. IT SEEMS TO DOWNSHIFT THEN GET STUCK IN A LOWER GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION SLOWS YOU DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY, AND WON'T ALLOW YOU TO INCREASE SPEED UNTIL YOU PULL OVER AND LET IT GO DOWN TO 0 MPH THEN RESUME ENTERING BACK INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE FOUND SITES LIKE 360 LEGAL WHICH SAY FORD HAS A RECALL FOR A MODULE TO BE REPROGRAMMED, BUT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATES THERE IN NO SUCH RECALL AND NO COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE REGARDING THIS DEFECT. IT'S VERY UNSAFE IN TRAFFIC WHERE YOU SLOW THEN GIVE IT GAS TO EXPECT IT TO INCREASE SPEED AND IT SUDDENLY SLOWS NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL. THE TRANSMISSION REVS UP LOUDLY AS IT YOU WERE INCREASING SPEED BUT YET YOUR SPEED CANNOT INCREASE. THIS HAS HAPPEN AFTER SLOWING FOR TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND ACCELERATING AGAIN, WHEN I PULL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND ACCELERATE TO DRIVE AWAY, AND IN THE SCHOOL ZONE AT MY CHILD'S SCHOOL.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET IT DOWN SHIFTED AND CAUSED TIRES TO SKID. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM AND FINDING A RECALL FOR THIS SITUATION (16S19). HOWEVER THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH, AND THE VEHICLE ON THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO HAVE A SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT. THE CARD DRASTICALLY REDUCE SPEED VERY QUICKLY AND REMAINED IN A LOW GEAR ALTHOUGH IT SAID IT WAS IN DRIVE. THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAPPENED MATCHES RECALL 16S19, HOWEVER, THEY SAID MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THAT RECALL. SAME YEAR AND VERY SIMILAR ISSUE.

COULD HEAR A LOUD METAL TO METAL GRINDING SOUND. FINALLY HAD THE EXPEDITION TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. 3 STRUTS NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE SHOCKS. DRIVER SIDE BEARING WAS WORN OUT. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS ALMOST THERE. THE EXPEDITION ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES. AFTER GETTING THIS INFORMATION FROM THE DEALER WE READ THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY WILL ONLY REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE BEARING. WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MAKING THE SAME NOISE DEALERSHIP SAID TO BRING IT IN.
ON MANY OCCASIONS FROM AROUND MAY OR JUNE OF 2013, WHEN THE CAR IS ACCELERATING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR IT "JUMPS". IT FEELS AS IF SOMEONE HAS HIT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES. EACH TIME THEY HAVE UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND SUPPOSEDLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM. AFTER EACH RETURN OF THE VEHICLE THE PROBLEM HAD ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. THE SECOND TIME AFTER BEING "FIXED" BY THE DEALERSHIP THE VERY NEXT DAY SOMEONE ALMOST REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE "JUMP" WAS SO IMPACTFUL THAT I SUDDENLY APPLIED MY BRAKES THINKING SOMEONE HAD REAR ENDED ME. THE CAR BEHIND ME STOP JUST AN HAIR SHORT OF HITTING THE VEHICLE. BEYOND GETTING WHIPLASH FROM THE CONSTANT "JUMPS", I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING VERY SERIOUS WILL HAPPEN IF THIS IS NOT FIXED OR CORRECTED. *TR
