NO SUMMARY FOR THIS VEHICLE.
THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAD MINOR WARPAGE AT 10,000 MILES AND WERE SERVICED BY FORD, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN AT ABOUT 40,000 MILES. THE FRONT PADS WERE REPLACED WITH CARBON/METALLIC TYPE. UPON BRAKEING DOWN A 1000 FOOT HIGH HILL ,THE BRAKES GOT HOT, BUT WORKED OK FOR TWO DAYS. AFTER THIRD NIGHT RADIAL CRACKS DEVELOPED, RENDEING BRAKES UNUSABLE DUE TO EXTREME VIBRATION UPON USE. FORD DEALER UNCOPERATIVE, SAID NOT A WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUE, THAT THE ROTORS ROUTINELY WARPED AND CRACKED UPON GETTING HOT. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED STRUCUTRAL CRACKING TO THIS EXTENT ON OLD CORVETTE ROTORS OPERATED IN A SIMILAR MANOR. THIS ROTOR FAILURE COULD BE LIFE THREATENING TO A LESS SKILLED DRIVER. RECOMMEND AN INVESTIGATION OF METALLURGY OF ROTOR MATERIAL AND OR CASTING PROCEDURE AND DESIGN. *AK
STARTED VEHICLE ON COLD DAY; WHEN I STEPPED ON BRAKE, VEHICLE ACCELERATED; SAME THING HAPPENED ONCE IN GEAR; TOOK TO DEALER - DEALER EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEM - SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE; DEALER TESTED VEHICLE - REPLACED CONTROL MODULE (ESP PART NUMBER 12A650 PROCESSOR ASSY AND 13466 SMALL BULBS; COST OF REPAIR - $528.93 - TOLD BY DEALER THAT REPAIR NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY; WROTE/CALLED FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE - ALSO SAID NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH BRAKE COMPONENTS ARE A GENERAL COVERED CATEGORY; CURRENTLY APPEALING WITH DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD
RECALL 96V024001/96S35; BRAKE BOOSTER STUDS HAVE FRACTURED DUE TO CORROSION. VEHICLE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. REPAIRWORK DONE AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, NOTICED A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM WITH BRAKE LIGHTS ON. CONSUMER PUT HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. CONSUMER REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES ON DRY PAVEMENT THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR ,CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. *AK
OWNER HAS ABS BRAKES. WHILE APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES ON ICE OR WET LIKE PAVEMENT VEHICLE GOES INTO A SKID. OWNER IS VERY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY. *AK
APPLIED THE BRAKES AT THE SPEED OF 35 MPH TO AVOID A RUT ON THE ROAD, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES LOCKED UP AND VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AND SKIDDED UP THE ROAD. ENDED UP UPSIDE DOWN IN A DITCH. *AK
EA96012, THE BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING NO BRAKING ABILITY AND PEDAL NOT DEPRESSING AT ALL. THE OCCUPANT HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. INTERMITTENTLY WHEN BRAKING HARD THE VEHICLE TENDS TO GO TO THE RIGHT SIDE. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. *AK

THE ABS SYSTEM DOESN'T OPERATE PROPERLY, THE WHEELS LOCK UP,ESPECIALLY DURING WET ROAD CONDITIONS. *AK
BRAKE ROTORS ARE CONTINUOUSLY CRACKING.
ANTILOCK BRAKES FAILED, CAUSING RIGHT REAR TIRE TO LOCK, CAR TO SWERVE.
REPLACED ABS BRAKES FIVE TIMES; ALSO FRONT BRAKE ROTORS SPLIT IN HALF TWICE. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING AND UPON DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE PEDAL BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE AND BRAKES FADING. CONSUMER HAS ALSO HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, EA96-017. *AK
WHEN BRAKING, CAN FEEL PULSATION THROUGH BRAKE PEDAL, OCCURS ON WET, SLIPPERY OR MUDDY CONDITIONS, LOSS OF ABILITY TO STOP OR CHANGE DIRECTIONS, CAUSED CRASH, HIT ROCK WALL COMING THROUGH UNDERPATH, ACCORDING TO DEALER, BRAKES ARE WORKING NORMAL. *AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ON CRUISE CONTROL AND PUTTING FOOT ON THE BRAKES TO DISENGAGE THE SPEED, ONCE TAKING FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE RE-ENGAGES AND PICKS UP SPEED. *AK
ABS BRAKE FAILURE, IMPACT 12:00 POSITION, AFTER MAKING SUDDEN STOP , PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH LOSS BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS, DRIVING AT SPEED 15MPH. *AK
