DRIVER WAS DRIVING 55MPH WITH ONE PASSENGER IN THE 1998 FORD EXPLORER WHEN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD BLOWOUT; CONDITIONS CAUSES A ROLL OVER CRASH. DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES FROM THE CRASH. A AFTER MARKET EQUIPMENT, INSTALL AT 57,276 MILES TIRE MICHELIN, MODEL TXA115 SIZE 235/75R15, DOT UNAVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE ORIGINAL FIRESTONE TIRES DUE TO SAFETY RECALL AND IS NOW REQUESTING REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER, HOWEVER CONSUMER WAS DENIED BY MANUFACTURER STATING THAT THE DEADLINE FOR REIMBURSEMENT HAD PASSED. (FIRESTONE TIRES)*YH
UPON INSPECTION OF TIRES, CONSUMER FOUND THAT TWO OF THE TIRES(FIRESTONE P225/70R155SL BSW A/S) HAD TREAD SEPARATION WITH THE STEEL BELTS PROTRUDING FROM THE EDGES, CONSUMER HAD ALL TIRES REPLACED WITH MICHELIN BRAND BEFORE THE FIRESTONE RECALL BEGAN, CONSUMER IS SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR DEFECTIVE TIRES. *JG
THE FORD EXPLORER HAD THE CORRECT TIRES ON IT- THE DRIVER TURNED THE WHEEL SHARPLY, THE BACK TIRED LIFTED AND THE EXPLORER STARTED TO ROLL, IT ROLLED 7 TIMES RESULTING IN 1 DEATH, 1 CRITICALLY INJURED AND 3 OTHERS WITH INJURIES. THE FORD EXPLORER WAS SAID TO ROLL FROM THE TIRES, THIS EXPLORER HAD THE CORRECT TIRES ON IT AND IT STILL ROLLED TOO EASILY. *AK

TIRE BLEW UP ON A HIGHWAY. DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR, VEERED TO THE RIGHT, MISSED A COUPLE OF CARS ON THE RIGHT LANES AND HIT THE SIDE OF THE HILL ON THE LEFT OF THE ROAD. CAR SPUN AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. ALL PASSENGERS (5) WERE INJURED. TIRE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND DRIVER DID NOT DRIVE OVER ANYTHING (I.E. POTHOLES, DEBRIS, ETC). MR

WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT TERRAIN, CONSUMER NOTICED GOODYEAR WRANGLER RT/S P235/75R15 TIRE BEGAN LOSING AIR, CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO PUT AIR BACK IN TIRE, BUT NOTICED LARGE BUBBLES PROJECTING ON THE SIDE WALL, AND THAT THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE WAS SHREDDED, TIRE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE TIRE, CONSUMER STATED THAT THE TIRES HAD ONLY 600 MILES, GOODYEAR STATED THAT THE TIRE WENT BAD DUE TO LOW AIR PRESSURE. *TT
PRIOR TO RECALL, CONSUMER REPLACED THE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES, DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION, HOWEVER MONTHS LATER CONSUMER FINDS OUT THAT THERE IS A RECALL AND REFUNDS WERE BEING ISSUED, AND THE ONLY WAY THAT CONSUMER WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND WOULD HAVE BEEN TO SAVE THE TIRES, CONSUMER NO LONGER HAS THE TIRES AS REQUIRED BY STATED LAW TO DISPOSE OF THEM PROPERLY, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT.*JB

LEFT REAR TIRE HAD A FLAT. TOOK VEHICLE TO PRIVATE SHOP WHO HAPPENED TO NOTICE SPARE WAS LARGER THAN OTHER TIRES. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER , AND DEALER NOTICED THAT OTHER TIRES ON VEHICLE WERE INCORRECT TIRES, AND THAT SPARE TIRE WAS THE CORRECT ONE. *AK *SLC
HAVE VIBRATION, IRREGULAR WEAR, NOISE. HAVE HAD THREE DIFFERENT COMPANIES LOOK AT CAR & THEY ALL DETERMINED IT WAS THE TIRES. I ONLY HAVE 19,000 MILES ON VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT NEED TO REPLACE TIRES. WENT TO FAMILY TIRE, FIRESTONE, & WORLD FORD. ALL HAVE THROWN UP THERE HANDS AND DONT WANT TO HELP OUT THE CONSUMER. CALL THE 800 # FOR FIRESTONE ALL THEY SAY IF THEY ARE NOT RECALLED. ARTICLE DTD 4-12-01 STATES THEY ARE RECALLING MORE FIRESTONE TIRES WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS I'AM HAVING. THE MODEL THAT IS NOW BEING RECALLED ARE P265/70R16. I FEEL THAT IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY TWO SMALL KIDS TO BE BEHIND THE WHEEL BECAUSE OF THIS. WHAT WILL IT TAKE ANOTHER DEATH AND FAMILT LOSS FOR SOMEONE TO WAKE UP AND PAY MORE ATTENTION. DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TIRE ROTATION, TECHNICIAN FOUND WIRE SHOWING THROUGH TIRES, OWNER REPLACED ALL 4 FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT P23575R15, DOT # WZHL, OWNER WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMIBURESED IF ABOVE TIRES ARE PART OF RECALL (00T-005). CJ

THIS TIRE BLEW OUT DURING NORMAL USE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY MILEAGE....THERE WAS NO PUNCTURE FOUND AND NO SHARP OBJECT THAT PIERCED THE TIRE. A LARGE ROUND HOLE WAS FOUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRE.
