TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 FORD F150. WHILE TOWING A TRAILER AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. OVER THE SPAN OF TWO YEARS, THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED IN THE SAME MANNER AND THE VEHICLES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WOULD NOT STATE EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE, BUT POSTULATED THAT WHATEVER WAS CAUSING METAL TO BE IN THE TRANSMISSION PAN WAS THE CAUSE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO ABUSE BY THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 228,000. UPDATED 4/23/08 *CN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED 4 TIMES.
DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER IS OUT, UNABLE TO READ SPEED AND MILEAGES. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. *AK *SLC
CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER ROD CONNECTS TO CLUTCH PEDAL WITH PLASTIC BUSHING,THE BUSHING WEARS OUT AND CLUTCH LINKAGE FALLS OFF.IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING YOU ARE UNABLE TO PRESS IN THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO DISEGAGE THE CLUTCH, THEREFORE YOU ARE UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE.THIS HAPPENED TO ME BUT LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP AND KILL ENGINE.VERY POOR SETUP FOR THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY.THE COST OF REPAIRS IS ABOUT $150.00 PERFORMING THE REPAIRS MYSELF.*AK
WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED. PRESSURE FROM TRANSMISSION CAUSED TRANSMISSION FUILD TO BLOW OUT ONTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER DUE TO THE AUTOMATIC ELECTRICAL OVERDRIVE. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE TRANMISSION WENT OUT FOR THE SECOND TIME. VEHICLE LOST POWER, AND THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING. *AK
CLUTCH PEDAL IS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE CLUTCH.
THE TRANSMISSION GEARS STICK, MAKING IT HARD TO SWITCH GEARS, COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN SWITCHING GEARS. WHILE ON THE THIRD GEAR, IT MAKES A GRINING NOISE. DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION "BLOCKS". *AK
WHEN DEPRESSING CLUTCH, ON COLD MORNINGS, ALL FLUID LEAKS OUT, TRANSMISSION WILL ENGAGE IN GEAR, CAUSING TRUCK TO MOVE ON ITS OWN, NEARLY CAUSED CRASH, DEALERSHIP HAS NOT DISCOVERED PROBLEM. *AK *SLC
SHIFT INDICATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED.
CONSUMER HAS HAD TO REPLACE SIX BUSHINGS WITHIN THE LAST 10 DAYS. THE PLASTIC BUSHINGS THAT HOLD THE CLUTCH ROD WHEN APPLIED PRESSURE IS ON THE BUSHINGS, WILL BRAKE, LEAVING THE VEHICLE UNMANAGEABLE BY THE DRIVER. *AK
WIRING FOR OVERDRIVE ON GEAR SHIFT FAILED.
ENGINE STALLS WHEN TRANSMISSION GEAR IS PUT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ABNORMALLY HARD IN LOWER GEARS WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT.**AK
