TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE THEY WERE WARPED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE STEERING TO WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND BRAKING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED TWICE WITHIN 7,000 MILES OF DRIVING. I HAVE AN 05 FORD F -150 AND ONE NIGHT I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AT TOP OF HILL WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR BUT TRUCK NEVER STOPPED THEN IT WENT COMPLETELY POWERLESS AT NIGHT. ROLLED DOWN HILL HOME WITH NO POWER OR LIGHTS IN NEUTRAL. HAD NO WARNING OR CHANGE IN BRAKES. OIL CHANGE AND CLOCKSPRING RECALL WORK DONE THE DAY BEFORE AT ALAN VIGIL DEALERSHIP. TRUCK HAS ONLY BEEN WORKED ON BY DEALER FOR OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. TURNED INTO SOMEONE'S YARD AND DROVE TILL TRUCK STOPPED ON ITS OWN BEFORE TRYING TO MAKE IT GO HOME. I COULD HAVE HURT SOMEONE OR MYSELF IF I HAD NOT BEEN A SKILLED DRIVER.I TRIED TO TELL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE PART CHECKED OUT FOR DEFECT BUT THEY SAID IT JUST BLOWS A SEAL AT ANYTIME. I HAVE HAD DOZENS OF VEHICLES AND THIS IS THE FIRST AND ONLY MASTER CYLINDER THAT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 89000 MILES ON IT LOOKS AND DRIVES LIKE A BRAND NEW TRUCK. PLEASE HELP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) BUT THE CONTACTS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

WAS DRIVING MY 2005 F-150 ELT ON 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY AT APPROX 65-70 MPH. WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES FELT SLIGHT PULL TO THE RIGHT. BEGAN SMELLING STRONG ODOR ONCE ENTERED TOWN AND WAS SLOWED TO 35 MPH. DROVE ANOTHER 2-3 MILES TO HOME AND SMELL INTENSIFIED. ONCE EXITED THE TRUCK SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVERSFRONT TIRE. FRONT WHEEL WAS ALSO EXTREMELY HOT, WAS UNABLE TO TOUCH IT.

HE WENT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE SAME HOSE THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ON THE VEHICLE IN AN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PLACE THE SAME DEFECTIVE HOSE IN THE VEHICLE. HE BELIEVES THAT THE RECALLED ITEM SHOULD BE REPLACED BY A WORKING ITEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 19,000.

ON LONGER TRIPS I NOTICED A COUPLE TIMES AN ODOR OF SOMETHING BURNING. I BROUGHT IT TO ADVANTAGE FORD, 4000 SE FEDERAL HIGHWAY.PO BOX 2930, STUART, FL. 34995, PHONE: 772-287-0955, TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A BRAKE CALIPER ON THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE. MILEAGE AT TIME OF INSPECTION: 62,701. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT AND A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AS WELL. *TR

I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF TO TRY TO RESET THE SYSTEM, STILL NO BRAKES. I DROVE HOME VERY CAREFULLY USING MY ENTIRE BODY WEIGHT TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT STOP LIGHTS. THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO STOP IF I DID NOT HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM IN FRONT OF ME. I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD A HOSE IS LEAKING OR HAS COME LOOSE BEHIND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. FRONT END VIBRATION, CONTACTED FORD THEY ADVISED NOT THEIR PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH FORD SERVICE BULLETIN 050502 STATES DIFFERENTLY NHTSA 10017890. FORD HAS FAILED TO CONTACT ME AGAIN. AND THE VIBRATION IS GETTING WORSE. I HAVE COMPLAINED SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNER SHIP, FORD CONTINUES TO PUSH ME OFF. *TR
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT IN MODERATE TRAFFIC. I HAD 80 FT TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND WHEN I DEPRESSED MY BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT 3/4 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WAS VIBRATING AS ANTI LOCK WAS ENGAGED. I RAPIDLY DEPRESSED THE PEDAL AGAIN AND THE SAME OCCURRED. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT THE BRAKES FINALLY ENGAGED BUT WAS TO LATE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS I WAS ONLY 2 FEET FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME RESULTING IN A CRASH. MY SPEED WAS REDUCED TO 8-10MPH UPON IMPACT. THE SMALLER CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS KNOCKED INTO A THIRD CAR STOPPED AT THE LIGHT. DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE TRUCK AND THE SMALLER CAR AND VERY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE 3RD VEHICLE. THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND THE STREETS WERE COMPLETELY DRY. I COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE STOPPED EVEN WITH NO LOAD OTHER THAN MY PASSENGER WHO IS A WITNESS TO THE INCIDENT. NO INJURIES OCCURRED IN ANY OF THE THREE VEHICLES AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. I AM SCARED TO DEATH AS I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 2 YEARS AND NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN IN MY LIFE. THE BRAKES WORKED PERFECTLY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT AND THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE PURCHASED NEW AND ALL SERVICE RECORDS ARE AT THIS DEALER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REAR CALIPERS FROZE. THE WHEELS BEGAN SMOKING AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER.
