DT*: THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING, WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNAL TO INDICATE BRAKE FAILURE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND WOULD NOT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED A VACUUM LINE HAD DISCONNECTED DUE TO OIL PRESENCE IN THE CONNECTION. THE RUBBER HOSE WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT DENIED ANY TRACES OF OIL IN THE SURROUNDING OF THE VACUUM HOSE CONNECTION. UPDATED 11/03/06. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 18 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SALES/SERVICE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THE VACUUM HOSE HAD COME OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. UPDATED 1/19/2007 - *NM

WHILE COMING TO A STOP OCCASIONALLY THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS A LOSS OF PRESSURE FEEL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. ON THE 26TH OF JULY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO POWER FORD IN VALENCIA CA. AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. IT IS MY BELIEF THE VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER IS LEAKING PRESSURE WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS HIGH, BOTH TIMES THIS OCCURRED THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOVE 110 DEGREES. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER RELEASING THE EMERGENCY BRAKES FROM THE VEHICLE IN PREPERATION TO DRIVE, THE EMERGENCY BRAKES WOULD STICK IN PLACE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL WITH THE EMERGNECY BRAKES APPIED GENERATING PRESSURE TOWARD THE TIRES WHICH CAUSED THEM TO RUN HOT AND BURN. THE BURNING RELEASED A BURNING TIRE ODOR. THE DEALERS DETERMINED THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE FOR ANY SERVICE EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE.
I HAVE NOT HAD A FAILURE AT THIS TIME. THE PROBLEM IS THE BRAKES ON MY 2005 F-150. THE PEDAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN MUSHY AND ENGAGES THE BRAKES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS WHEN APPLIED, I NEVER WHERE THE BRAKING WILL BEGIN. SOME TIMES IF I AM PARKING A TRAILER WHERE THE BRAKES ARE USED A LOT THE PEDAL WILL BE ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. I DID ALMOST BACK INTO A CAR WHEN PARKING BECAUSE THE BRAKES DIDN'T ENGAGE UNTIL PEDAL WAS QUITE LOW. *NM
THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED DECEMBER 19, 2005: CAUSE: BRAKE FAILURE. WE WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND I WAS HOLDING PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN IT COLLAPSED TO THE FLOOR AND ROLLED IN TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS ONLY 2000 MILES ON THE PICK-UP. I WASN'T SURE WHAT HAPPENED UNTIL WE WERE AT ANOTHER STOP LIGHT AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME I PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL I HAD PRESSURE. WE RETURNED HOME IN MARCH AND I WENT TO THE DEALER WHOM WE PURCHASED IT FROM (VALU FORD AT ELBOW LAKE, MINNESOTA) AND TOLD THEM OF THE PROBLEM. HE TRIED IT AND SAID HE COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I GOT INTO THE PICK-UP AND SHOWED HIM HOW THE MASTER CYLINDER COLLAPSES WHEN PRESSURE IS HELD ON IT. HE TRIED ANOTHER PICK-UP SAME YEAR AND SAID THAT'S THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE??? I WENT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER IN ALEXANDRIA (JUETTNER MOTORS) AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT I WANTED DONE AND THEY TOLD ME MY INSURANCE COMPANY SHOULD TAKEN CARE OF THE PROBLEM AND DIDN'T EVEN CHECK THE BRAKES. I HAVE TAKEN THE PICK-UP TO 5 DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT GARAGES AND THEY HAVE ALL SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER SHOULD NOT COLLAPSE WHEN PRESSURE IS HELD ON THE PEDAL. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND ASK IF THEY COULD HAVE A COMPANY TECH EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THE MASTER CYLINDER COLLAPSES WHEN PRESSURE IS HELD ON THE PEDAL. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM. I FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR MASTER CYLINDER AND SHOULD BE FIXED. I COMPLAINED TO FORD AGAIN AND ASK THEM TO HAVE SOME ONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THE BRAKES SHOULD COLLAPSE WHEN PRESSURE IS HELD ON THEM. THEY SENT OUT AN INDEPENDENT SOURCE AND HE HAD THE PICK-UP FOR ABOUT THREE HOURS AND SENT A REPORT BACK TO FORD SAYING THAT THE ELECTRIC BRAKES FOR THE CAMPER WERE THE PROBABLE CAUSE?? THERE IS NO HYDRAULICS INVOLVED WITH THE ELECTRIC BRAKES. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.. *JB
BRAKES FAILED 3 TIMES. LAST TIME PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AND I WENT THROUGH STOP SIGN. ALSO HAD THROTTLE STICKING. AFTER PEDAL SINKS TO FLOOR & YOU TRY A SECOND ATTEMPT THEN IT WORKS FINE. TRUCK HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP SINCE FEBRUARY 10, 2006 & IS STILL THERE TODAY APRIL 17, 2006. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR REPAIR PROBLEM. FORD TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND NOTIFY THEM. VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION. *NM
MAY 2, 2006 THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED DECEMBER 19, 2005: CAUSE: BREAK FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 F150, THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE STARTED LOCKING UP AND SMELLING REALLY BAD. I STOPPED TO INVESTIGATE AND FOUND THE RIM TO BE VERY HOT. I DROVE IT A FEW MORE MILES TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO LOAN ME A CAR FOR FREE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I ASKED WHAT PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM THEY HAVE STARTED HAVING WITH F150 BRAKE CALIPERS LOCKING UP WHILE CUSTOMERS ARE DRIVING. IT BOTHERS ME THAT I HAD TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM THIS WAY. I THINK FORD SHOULD BE TELLING CUSTOMERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM RIGHT NOW BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT BAD FROM THIS DEFECT. *JB
I HAVE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURES ON AT LEAST 5 OCCASIONS. IT HAS OCCURRED AT SLOW SPEED WHEN APPROACHING A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES IN TRAFFIC. THE BRAKES APPEAR TO BE ENGAGING THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM AND START TO PULSE BUT FAIL TO STOP. ALL OF THE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED WHEN THE PAVEMENT WAS COMPLETELY DRY AND THE ROAD SURFACES WERE CLEAN. ALL INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN NARROW MISSES IN TRAFFIC COLLISIONS. AFTER EACH INCIDENT THE BRAKES APPEAR TO RETURN TO NORMAL FUNCTION AND ONLY ONCE HAVE I BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE WHICH WAS IN A PARKING LOT SHORTLY AFTER THE VERY FIRST INCIDENT. DURING EACH INCIDENT I INITIALLY APPLY AND HOLD THE BRAKE UNTIL I REALIZE COMPLETE FAILURE AND THEN RELEASE AND RE-APPLY. EXCEPT FOR YESTERDAY (01/01/2006) THE BRAKES ENGAGED ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT. YESTERDAY THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE INITIAL SPEED WAS SO SLOW THE VEHICLE JUST RAN OUT OF FORWARD MOMENTUM AND THE MINIMAL BRAKING HELD THE VEHICLE. I BACKED OUT OF THE INTERSECTION, BRAKED, TESTED STOPPING AND THE BRAKES APPEARED FINE AT THAT TIME. I PLAN TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SEEN THE VEHICLE FOR THIS PROBLEM IN ADDITION TO A CHARGING LIGHT PROBLEM AND HAVE FAILED TO FIX EITHER PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND A BRAKING PROBLEM AND WERE UNABLE TO RE-CREATE THE BRAKING MALFUNCTION. THEIR RESOLUTION WAS TO BLEED THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND RETURN THE VEHICLE TO SERVICE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ON A HILL APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT 8MPH , THE BRAKE PEDAL DROPPED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF ALL BRAKING POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHICH ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL DOWNHILL AND STRIKE A FENCE. THE SEATBELT WAS WORN AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. HOWEVER, THE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE WAS NOT ALERTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS INOPERATIVE. THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT CORRECTED THE BRAKING PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED.

2005 FORD F150 DEVELOPED EXTREME FRONT WHEEL BRAKE PAD DUST. *MR THE DUST HAD COMPLETELY COATED THE FRONT WHEELS. THE CONSUMER HAD BEEN MADE AWARE OF OTHER SAME MAKE/MODEL(S) THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. *SC
BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY SANK TO FLOOR AS I WAS TRYING TO STOP BEFORE PULLING ONTO A STREET FROM A DRIVEWAY. DROVE THE SHORT DISTANCE TO HOME AND THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TO SINK TO THE FLOOR WHEN LIGHT PRESSURE WAS APPLIED. IT TOOK A STURDY PUSH TO ACTUALLY STOP THE VEHICLE. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THEY REPORT THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND DID MULTIPLE TESTS AND FOUND NOTHING. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THIS CITY WITH UNRELIABLE BRAKES. I DON'T WANT TO HURT SOMEONE OR MYSELF. THE DEALERSHIP SHOWS LACK OF CONCERN. *NM
DT: NOTICED ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 THAT THE RESIDUE AROUND THE MASTER CYLINDER. CLEANED OFF THE RESIDUE AND OIL AROUND MASTER CYLINDER. IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND INTERMITTENTLY THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING AND NO NOISE. CONTACTED THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2005. *AK
DT: ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2005 VEHICLE SKIDDED WHILE COMING TO A STOP. IT SKIDDED THREE TIMES SINCE THEN, TWICE WHILE STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A TURN INTO THE DRIVEWAY. ALSO, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THIS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY, AND T HAPPENED ON DRY PAVEMENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING AND THERE WAS NO NOISE. *AK
DT: WHILE DRIVING 5-10 MPH THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. THIS OCCURRED ON 3-1-05 FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND SOLENOID VALVE BLOCK. ALSO, THEY PUT IN SOME BRAKE FLUID. IT HAPPENED AGAIN UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES ON 8-10-2005. THE NEXT TIME CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY RAN SEVERAL TESTS ON THE VEHICLE AFTER CONTACTING THE TECHNICAL SERVICES PERSON FOR THE MANUFACTURER. THEY DID NOTHING TO ALTER THE VEHICLE. *AK *JB
2005 FORD F150 LOSS BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE. BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE OR NO BRAKES. LEAKS BRAKE FLUID OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FROM UNDER CAP. *NM
DT: CONTACT STATED WHILE TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALERSHIP BLED THE BRAKES. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *AK
EXCESSIVE FRAME/TIRE "WOBBLE" 2005 FORD F150 4X4. VIBRATION AT 50-70 MPH, BRAKE PADS, ROTORS OVERHEATING CAUSING WARPED ROTORS THEN INCREASING VIBRATION WITH POSSIBLE "DEATH WOBBLE" . TESTED 3 2005 F150 WITH SERVICE MANAGER "LYLE" WHO CONFIRMED AND LATER BACKTRACKED WITH "FORD2005 F150 TRUCKS WOBBLE AND ITS NORMAL.........
ON 3-17-05 BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD JUMP THE CURB TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR. HAD TOWED TO MIKE SHAD FORD AND WAS TOLD "THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM!" ON 3-22-05 COMING TO A RED LIGHT MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND STOPPED. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMED THE FAILURE.
