The contact stated that when depressing the accelerator pedal while in reverse, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, crossing a field, and crashing into a nearby building, where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact sustained neck injuries, and the front passenger sustained neck injuries as well. The contact did not seek medical attention; however, they intended to do so in the future. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The rear end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was driven home. The vehicle was taken to Collision Center who diagnosed that the rear of the vehicle needed extensive bodywork and determined the vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000. The VIN was not available.

I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I GAVE THE TRUCK SOME GAS AND IT STARTED MAKING NOISE AND ACTED AS IF SOMETHING WAS ABOUT READY TO FLY APART AND SEVERLY VIBRATING. I HAD TO STOP AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE WITH CARS BEHIND ME SWERVING TO GET AROUND ME. I HAD TO CALL A TOW SERVICE TO GET MY TRUCK HOME, AFTER INSPECTION OF THE DRIVESHAFT I FOUND THAT THE CARRIER BEARING HAD SLIP OUT OF IT'S HOUSING AND THE DRIVESHAFT WAS BOUNCING AROUND IN THE BEARING BRACKET. I COULD NOT LOCATE A CARRIER BEARING ANYWHERE SO I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO BUY AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE DRIVESHAFT. I DID SOME SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. IF YOU INSPECT THE DRIVESHAFTS NOW BEING SOLD FOR REPLACEMENTS YOU WILL FIND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN DESIGN CHANGES MADE BUT FORD WON'T ADMIT THAT THEY HAD A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE ORIGINAL DRIVESHAFT. BY THE WAY, MY 2007 F150 ONLY HAS 32000 MILES ON IT, IT'S NOT A WEAR ISSUE.

FORD 150 PICK UP TRUCK REGULARLY MAINTAINED WITH 70,836 MILES WAS TRAVEL ON CITY STREETS AT SPEED LIMITS WHEN A "POPPING" SOUND WAS HEARD AND TRUCK WOULD NOT TRAVEL OVER 25MPH. NO CABIN LIGHTS, NO INDICATION OF PROBLEM. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO AUTOMOTIVE CENTER, FOUND NO ERROR OR TROUBLE CODES ON DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND ALL FLUID LEVELS WERE FULL AND CLEAN. AUTOMOTIVE CENTER DISCOVERED FAILED TRANSMISSION WITH PIECES OF METAL IN TRANSMISSION COOLER AND LINES DURING TRANSMISSION FLUSH USING FACTORY RECOMMENDED SOLUTION. FACTORY DEFECT OF TRANSMISSION, ENGINEERING DEFECT FOR LACK OF CABIN WARNING LIGHTS AND MAINTENANCE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING TRANSMISSION FAULT. THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMALLY BUT THE WARNING INDICATORS KEPT GOING ON. THERE WERE NO CODES WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO THE SHOP ALTHOUGH THE SHOP SAID THEY HAVE A RETAINING CLIP THAT WEARS OUT AND CAUSES ALL THE PARTS TO SHIFT. GEAR SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AS I WAS EXITING VEHICLE. I HAD NOT YET CLOSED THE DOOR AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO MOVE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS CAUGHT BY THE DOOR AND DRAGGED ALONG UNTIL THE DOOR THREW ME TO THE GROUND, INJURING MY BACK. THE TRUCK CAME TO REST ON BOTH OF MY LEGS. FORD CLAIMS NO DEFECTS ON THIS MODEL YEAR. YET ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE SEVERAL FORD OWNERS WITH SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH TRUCK. LUCKILY, MY SPEED AT THAT TIME WAS ONLY 10-15MPH. WHEN CALLING THE FOR DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT REPLACING THE PART OR ADVISE THE SALES PERSON WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN SELLING ME AN ENTIRE DRIVE SHAFT AND ADAMANTLY STATED THE PART IN WHICH I WAS SEARCHING WAS NOT OBTAINABLE IN NO POSSIBLE WAY. AFTER SEARCHING FOR THE EXACT PART ON FORD'S PARTS WEBSITE I DID LOCATE THE INDIVIDUAL PART ALLOWABLE FOR ORDER ONLINE. MY MAIN CONCERN AT THIS TIME IS THERE WAS NO REGARD FOR THE TREMENDOUS SAFETY HAZARD OF THIS PARTICULAR DEVICE OR PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, MOREOVER THERE WAS MORE CONCERN WITH OBTAINING A LARGER SELL. ON 08/14/13 I WAS AT A BANK IN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD CA. 94533, THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT IN THE PARKING LOT, WHICH IS A 1 DIRECTION ENTRANCE, MYSELF AND SEVERAL VEHICLES HAD TO BACK OUT OF THE LOT. AS I PRECEDED TO ACCELERATE TO EXIT THE LOT, I HEARD A LOUD THUMP. THE NEXT THING I KNEW WAS I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AS OTHERS WHO WERE IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE BANK APPROACHED ME AND ASKED IF THAT WAS MY DRIVE SHAFT HANGING DOWN. WHEN I BENT DOWN TO LOOK I NOTICED THAT IT HAD BROKEN AT THE WELD AT THE YOKE OF THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I RETURNED HOME AFTER BEING TOWED, I WENT ON LINE TO SEE OF ANY OTHER SITUATIONS OF DRIVE SHAFTS BRAKING ON FORD TRUCKS, AND I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL, WHICH ONE BROKE AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH MASSIVE VEHICLE DAMAGE. I WENT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO RECALLS WITH THAT ISSUE. BUT FORD HAS HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF A LOUD THUMPING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING PLACED IN GEAR WHICH IS ALL A RESULT OF DRIVELINE AND DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THIS HAD HAPPENED, THE DRIVE-LINE WOULD HAVE DUG INTO THE ASPHALT AND PERHAPS FLIPPED MY TRUCK. KILLING MYSELF AND PERHAPS OTHERS. I ALSO CALLED FORDS CUSTOMER CARE CENTER IN MICHIGAN, BUT THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO COMPLAINTS OR RECALLS. TO WHICH I INFORMED THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL BLOGS ON LINE OF PEOPLE HAVING DRIVE-LINE PROBLEMS ON THE FORD F150 TRUCKS. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT BACKING UP WHEN MY INCIDENT OCCURRED BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE SHAKES AT LOW SPEED VIOLENTLY. DID RESEARCH ON THE WEB THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD TRUCKS. STORIES OF GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALER FOR SHAKING NEW TRUCK TO EXPENSIVE REPAIRS THAT DIDN'T REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I'M A FAMILY MAN WITH 6 KIDS AND LIMITED MEANS WHICH MEANS I WILL ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS MYSELF BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD A PRO-TECH TO TELL ME THE SHAKING IS NORMAL FOR FORD TRUCKS AS IN THE STORIES POSTED ALL OVER WEB DATING BACK SEVERAL YEARS. I'M STILL PAYING FOR MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT ANOTHER YEAR $647.00 A MONTH BOUGHT IT NEW IN 07 ZERO DOWN WHICH IT SEEMS THAT I WILL END UP WITH ZERO. WHILE DRIVING AT A 15 MPH (1000 RPMS) TRUCK WOULD KNOCK AND TRY TO STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WOULD HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO KEPT IT FROM STALLING OR PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND PRESS THE GAS TO KEEP IT FROM STALLING. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP ON 4/24/2007 AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAM PHASERS WERE THE PROBLEM OF MY ENGINE TRYING TO STALL. AS I DID MY RESEARCH ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE 5.4L 3 VALVE ENGINES FROM FORD. *TR

DRIVELINE HAS BEEN VIBRATING AT 55 MPH FOR MONTHS. FORD SERVICE TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIRES, SO I PUT A NEW SET OF TIRES ON MY 2007 F150 KING RANCH SUPERCREW. STILL NOT THE PROBLEM. HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY THE TIRE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE DRIVELINE NEEDED REBALANCING. THE TRUCK IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS. PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 50000 MILES - OUT OF WARRANTY OF COURSE. A RECALL SHOULD BE INSTATED FOR FORD TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. *TR
