TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND SHOOK. THE WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE, BUT THE ACCELERATION WAS NOT NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,700.

MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT AND SURGES IT LOOSES ALL POWER. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I IMMEDIATELY DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP P2111 CODE SHOWED UP WHEN THE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS COMMON IN THIS PATICULAR MODEL. THIS SHOULD BE A FACTORY RECALL.

WHEN LEAVING FROM WORK, REVERSED OUT OF PARKING SPACE. THE CAR TOOK A BIT MORE PRESSING ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THAN NORMAL. WHEN PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY, THE RPM SHOT UP TO 4000 AND THE CAR DID NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR TO ACCELERATE. WHEN SHIFTING INTO SECOND GEAR IT WAS HARSH AND JERKY. WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, DOWN SHIFTING WAS JERKY. WHEN TRAFFIC MOVED FORWARD AND I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR SHIFTED INTO REVERSE AND I QUICKLY HAD TO BRAKE. I COULD FEEL THAT SHIFTING FOR EVERY GEAR TOOK MORE RPM'S AND IT WAS VERY VIOLENT, DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AND I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR. I AM HAVING IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO TRY AND FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON AND HOW TO FIX IT.

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 11 MONTHS.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHIFTING ERRATICALLY WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP, WITH HIGHER THAN NORMAL RPM RANGE. AFTER GETTING BACK UP TO SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION MADE A LOUD NOISE AND FELT AS IF IT HAD FALLEN OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, AND NOW SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR, AND THIRD TO FOURTH GEAR ARE DELAYED AND SOME TIMES MAKE THE CAR FEEL LIKE IT MAY NOT SHIFT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE 95 FREEWAY IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA MY 2011 FORD FUSION STARTED JERKING AND IDLING DOWN LIKE IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO RUN I GET 4-5 MINUTES INTO MY DRIVE AT 65 MPH AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN. I DIDN'T REALIZE THE POWER TO THE VEHICLE WAS GONE AT FIRST. CARS ARE FLYING BESIDE ME, AND BEHIND ME ON THE HIGHWAY I'M TERRIFIED THAT I'M GOING TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A ACCIDENT. I COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY CAR TO FORD AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY KEEP SENDING ME AWAY. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY IN SEPTEMBER 2013 AND THE CAR WAS FINE UNTIL FEBRUARY THIS YEAR NOW MY CAR IS BACK AT FORD I TOLD THEM I WAS NOT TAKING THAT CAR BECAUSE NOW I HAVE A SAFETY ISSUE. I CALLED THE FORD REGIONAL CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER I HAVE A CASE NUMBER, BUT FEEL I'M NOT GETTING RESULTS. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECH AT FORD YESTERDAY 6/17 THAT HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR THEY CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT. HE SAID THEY CHECK THE TRAN AND IT ALL CHECKOUT FINE. FORD REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. AS THIS BEING THE 2ND THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT IN 6 MONTHS. MY CAR IS NOW LUNGING FORWARD DANGEROUSLY I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING IT. STILL STALL ON THE HIGHWAY. AND MY AVG MILES PER GALLON HAVE PLUNGED FROM 29.9 TO 20.1. I ONLY DRIVE FORD TOUGH. BUT NOW I THINK ITS " FORD THE WEAK" AND PAYING FOR A PIECE OF CRAPPLE AT 400 A MONTH FOR 6 YEARS I NO JOKE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE THROTTLE IN THE GAS PEDAL. THE WRENCH LIGHT ALSO CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR JERKED VIOLENTLY. FORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY SLOWED DOWN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHILE THE JERKING CONTINUED AND THE ENGINE REVVED IRRATIONALLY AROUND 1000-4000 RPMS. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF, THE CAR WAS RESTARTED AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY TEMPORARILY UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF DRIVE. THE WRENCH LIGHT DOES NOT APPEAR AGAIN BUT THE SLUGGISH ENGINE AND THE GRINDING NOISE THAT COMES FROM THE ENGINE DO NOT APPEAR TO DISAPPEAR. THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON WITH MANY OTHER FORD FUSIONS WITH FAULTY THROTTLE BODIES. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS CAR HAD ITS THROTTLE BODY REPLACED PREVIOUSLY BUT STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUE. *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE THROTTLE CONTROL AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING HOWEVER, THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,650. ..UPDATED 02/25/13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD QUICKLY LOSE POWER AND SPEED, GO INTO IDLE/LIMP MODE AND THE ENGINE WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN AT A VERY LOW RPM. PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR DID NOTHING TO HELP. THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT ACTIVATE, OR SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP SLIGHTLY, BUT VERY LITTLE. THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE WAS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN, AND THEN ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS WERE RESTORED, BUT IT ALSO RESET AND DELETED THE CODE, SO THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS OF TESTING. ON THE FOURTH TRY, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, IN WHICH A CODE OF D42 APPEARED. UPDATED 02/27/13

CAR WAS HESITATING AND SHIFTING ROUGHLY. FORD DEALERSHIP PERFORMED TSB 11-9-9 TO RESET POWER CONTROL MODULE. ON 10/19/12 CAR DIED WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING MY SON TO SCHOOL. PART #DS7Z 9E926 A THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. ON 11/12/12 TOOK CAR IN BECAUSE IT WAS STILL SHIFTING ROUGH AND HESITATING. FORD COULDN'T VERIFY MY CONCERN AND HAD NO CODES SO THEY DID NOTHING. ON 02/07/13 MY CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. FORD REPLACED PART #DS7Z 9E926 A THROTTLE BODY AGAIN. THE CAR IS STILL SHIFTING ROUGH AND NOT RIGHT. CAR LOST POWER TURNING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THE PROBLEM WAS THE THROTTLE BODY WENT BAD LOST COMMUNICATION WITH POWER TRAIN.. IT APPEARS A LOT OF THESE ARE BEING REPORTED FOR THE FUSION V6 SEL MODEL. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE AT HUNTINGTON FORD IN ROCHESTER MI. AND PAID $550 FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PARTS IF NEEDED FOR ANYTHING. *TR

AT 6:55AM ON INTERSTATE I-70 EAST IN KC MO I WAS DRIVING IN THE FAST LANE AT THE CORRECT SPEED OF 65 MPH ON MY WAY TO WORK AND MY WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE NEXT THING I KNEW MY CAR STARTED DOWN SHIFTING AND SHAKING UNTIL IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS BUT WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE CAUSE OF THE VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I HAD A SEMI TRUCK BEHIND ME. I COULDN'T GET OVER BECAUSE OF THE HEAVY TRAFFIC AND HOW FAST MY CAR WENT FROM 65 TO ZERO IN MINUTES. ONCE I CAME TO A FULL STOP, I SHUT MY CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON WHICH AT THAT TIME IT ACTED FUNNY BUT THEN I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO WORK.I AM A MOTHER OF 3 CHILDREN AND AT THAT MOMENT MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP BLUE SPRINGS FORD AND TOLD THEM ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THAT ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 FORD FUSION DOWN THE ROAD, IT UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER. THE ENGINE REMAINED ON (LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC.), BUT PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR DID NOT CAUSE IT TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF & A FEW MINUTES LATER, AN ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR WAS MADE. THE STARTER TURNED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES & FINALLY STARTED. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN A FIVE-DAY PERIOD. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE OCCURRENCE, THOUGH THEY SUSPECT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. ONE HAS BEEN ORDERED FOR REPLACEMENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TURNING LEFT AT STOP LIGHT AND VEHICLE LOST POWER AND MAINTENANCE LIGHT CAME ON. COASTED AT 10 MPH THROUGH LIGHT INTO A PARKING LOT. CAR WAS STILL RUNNING BUT THROTTLE DID NOTHING. TURNED IGNITION OFF AND ON WHILE THE CAR WAS HALF IN THE PARKING LOT AND HALF IN THE ROAD. RESTARTED WITH SAME RESULTS. AFTER THE THIRD RESTART MAINTENANCE LIGHT WENT OFF AND CAR HAD POWER AGAIN. DROVE HOME AND CHECKED FOR CODES. P2112 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM - STUCK CLOSED WAS ONLY CODE. *TR
