4TH TIME: ENGINE MISSES,VIOLENT SHAKING LIKE TORQUE CONVERTER IS CONNECTED, GAS PEDAL NOT RESPONSIVE, DASH BOARD LIGHTS UP WITH A WRENCH. OWNERS MANUAL SAYS GO TO DEALER ASAP. BEEN TO DEALER ONCE, THEY SAID A TRANSMISSION REPROGRAMMING WAS NECESSARY. NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN 12 DAYS OF BEING "FIXED". THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, OR ANY SPEED FOR THAT MATTER, AND THE CAR DIES AND SHAKES AND JOLTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 25 MPH AND 50 MPH. ONE TIME IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A HILL AND I COULDN'T GET UP THE HILL AND JUST HAD TO BLOCK TRAFFIC. HELP! IF I CAN MAKE IT, BACK TO THE DEALER TOMORROW. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50MPH, MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST POWER AND WRENCH LIGHT ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED. (NEW CAR PURCHASED 11/2015) DASHBOARD STATED TO SEE MANUAL WHICH IN TURN TOLD ME THAT IT IS A POWERTRAIN FAILURE AND TO SEE A DEALER. ENGINE, A/C AND RADIO ALL SEEMED TO BE RUNNING FINE AND AS I CAME TO A STOP THE CAR RAN ROUGH AT IDLE AND HAD VERY LITTLE POWER. AFTER TURNING IT OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, THE CAR WAS BACK TO NORMAL AND NO MORE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THIS WAS VERY ODD CONSIDERING I ONLY HAD 14K MILES ON IT. THIS HAPPENED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN ONE WEEK. TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER AND I TOLD THEM AFTER RESEARCHING AND SEEING ALL THESE COMMON OCCURRENCES, IT APPEARS THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IS FAILING. THE TECH SAID HE HAS HEARD ABOUT THE ISSUE ON OLDER MODELS AND NOT THE 2016 BUT IT WAS FAMILIAR TO HIM. AFTER RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS, IT WAS IN FACT THE ETB AND FORD REPLACED IT AT NO CHARGE. THIS ISSUE DOES SEEM TO BE VERY PREVALENT AND I AM CURIOUS IF FORD IS SIMPLY REPLACING THE ETB WITH AN NEW... OR ARE THEY MAKING AN UPDATED/UPGRADED VERSION? I REALLY HOPE THAT THEY DO RE-MANUFACTURE A BETTER ETB A SI HOPE IT DOESN'T FAIL AGAIN SO SOON IN ANOTHER 14K MILES...
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND CITY STREETS, THE CAR LOSES POWER WITH A WRENCH DISPLAY REFERRING TO THE OWNERS MANUAL. THE ISSUE INVOLVES THE AWD CLUTCH AND OCCURRS WITH NO WARNING CAUSING AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION THAT CAN RESULT IN IMMEDIATE INJURY OR DEATH DEPENDING ON THE DRIVER'S REACTION AND TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. THE CAR HAS NO POWER BUT THE DRIVER STILL IS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE WHILE THE ENGINE HAS A VERY ROUGH IDLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE GEAR SHIFTER SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE FRONT PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, BUT THE GEAR SHIFTER DISENGAGED INTO REVERSE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY AND DRAGGED THE FRONT PASSENGER ALONG UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A HALT ON LEVELED SURFACE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD, SPINE, AND RIB INJURIES AS WELL AS ABRASIONS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHEN SHIFTED INTO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
