See attached document for complaint. Text from attached document: Despite completing the interim repair, the vehicle still cannot charge, and my repeated inquiries, including under case number CXH-05041947-L 1V3X6, have been met with vague promises of replacement batteries being available "next quarter" with no resolution in sight. Furthermore, I learned on July 23, 2025, that Ford offered a buy-back program for affected vehicles that ended on July 1, 2025, which I was never informed about.

Drove home from work 10/7/25 no issues. Parked the car no issues. Son went to leave and the car just stopped functioning. OEM issues I believe is what my son stated with the computer system. Brake is down and won’t release. Won’t start, sounds like it is even when we aren’t touching anything. Asking for goodwill / Good faith extension on the recall for this vehicle

During the month of dec 2024 my car didnt start. I called Triple A to jump start my car to get home. During Christmas break of 2024 i purchased a brand new battery and now a month and two weeks later the battery is completely dead again. Sometimes is hard to get the car up to speed and feels like it struggles to maintain it as well. The electrical system also kicks my radio connection off and on while driving. The first incident happened dec. 21,2023 and the second incident happened Jan. 27,2025.

Incident: Dec 2024

The electrical system constantly discharges the battery. If the car is not started at least every three days, the battery discharges and must be taken to Ford to have the battery replaced. Ford customer service and the dealer know about this and have taken the position that as a customer I must go start the car because Ford cannot fix the problem, Unknown why they cannot fix it. To start the car every three days is very difficult for me because I am disabled and must climb stairs and walk to the street to manually start the car. Ford suggested using the remote start feature of furnished with the car by Ford. The remote start works but it is limited to remote starting the car two times and then you must go to the car and manually start the car. If I am unable to get to the car in time to start it, the battery goes dead and I cannot use my car in case of an emergency. Ford has been made aware of this, Ford says they agree it is a problem but that Ford Engineers won't remove the two start limit. Ford will not say why there is a two start limit. This could be fixed (limit removed) by just updating the software. Ford does not respond anymore when I ask them about it.

I got a notice of recall 10 months ago for this vehicle and there is no fix or updated communication on whether the Battery Energy Control Module for this vehicle can be modified to be made safe and I have told to stop charging the car which defeats the purpose why I purchased it in the first place. Wanted to make a formal complaint against Ford Motor Corporation for their lack of action and communication on when this problem is to be solved.

Ford has failed to find a solution in a reasonable time frame. Car was purchased to be used as a hybrid and we are no longer able to use the battery due to recall for now 8 months. Our car value is also now upside down over $6,000 as this function is no longer available. In addition to 8 months of fuel charges we did not anticipate.

This is my 2nd complaint on the non action to repair this recall. Ford's latest attempt to NOT repair the electrical defect is to buy my car. Their offer does meet the cost of buying a replacement car. Is Ford so inept that they cannot repair their own products? The offer to buy the car sends a red flag up. Is Ford's "solution" to buy my car an attempt to acquire cars to resell at a profit? If Ford cannot repair a defect that was diagnosed a long time ago, should they be allowed to continue to manufacture and sell cars in the United States? Has Ford been sanctioned in any way for this defect?

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. Recently while driving at 25 MPH, the contact stated that an abnormal, popping sound emitted from the vehicle. An unknown "red triangle" and an unknown warning message also appeared on the instrument panel. The cabin began to fill with heavy grayish smoke as the contact and her husband immediately exited the vehicle. The authorities were called to the scene and disconnected all electrical wires from the vehicle. No fire was reported. A police report was filed. The contact's husband, who recently had surgery on his left rotator cuff, fell on his left shoulder upon exiting the vehicle. The contact's husband sought medical treatment from a doctor who examined the shoulder; no additional injuries were discovered; however, the contact's husband sustained additional pain upon falling from the vehicle. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic where upon examination, the mechanic recommended that the vehicle be taken to a dealer. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it remained in their possession for an inspection. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 48,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I could not find a link for complaints, so I am reporting a complaint here. I got a notice of recall in July 2023 (NHTSA Recall 23V-440) for this vehicle and almost a year later there is NO fix or updated communication on whether the Battery Energy Control Module for this vehicle can be modified to be made safe. I was told to stop charging the car due to a possible fire hazard, and this defeats the purpose that I purchased it for in the first place. I have been forced to buy (increasiingly expensive) gasoline for the past 10+ months whereas before the recall, I almost never purchased gas - just charged the car. I want to make a formal complaint against Ford Motor Corporation for their lack of action and communication on the status of this problem and when it is likely to be solved. Thank you.

My car has been under recall (NHTSA recall 23V440) without a remedy since June of last year. According to Ford if I charge my car (it is a PHEV) I risk damaging major components and/or the car catching on fire. Ford is not making any effort to repair my car in a timely manner. They will not provide a firm date for when they plan to fix this recall. I have called Ford and asked them to make this right and they have refused, saying that my state's lemon laws do not obligate them in any way to help me. I cannot sell the car because the resale value of the car has plummeted since the recall was issued. I only owned the car for 3 months before the recall happened.

The manufacturer is taking an unreasonably long time to remedy the situation affected by this recall. There has been virtually no communication, and their customer service isn't even aware of the issue unless reminded of it. I bought this car to be able to save on gas, and for the past year, I've pretty much been driving a regular hybrid that I have to pay extra to register because it's a partial EV, even though it's really not any more. They need to do right by us

I believe the manufacturer has failed to resolve the safety recall in a timely manner. The recall notice was sent on July 2023 and they still don’t have a fix or information on the recall. The The sole purpose of me purchasing this vehicle was to save money on gasoline and the manufacturer states to not charge my vehicle. I’ve called three times since the recall and the Ford representative over in corporate headquarters cannot give me an answer. Know that although the vehicle is under my spouse’s name [XXX] ), i’m the one driving it and making the payments. What are my options? Unable to charge the plug in hybrid vehicle due to Ford recall 23S33 which was announced June 16,2023. Ford advised owner not to charge the vehicles until a remedy is available. No remedy for this issue is available 9 months later, leaving consumer to use gasoline only to power this plug in hybrid vehicle due to risk of excess voltage and current flow through the battery energy control module which can result in loss of motive power while driving, increasing risk of a crash, or a vehicle fire in the trunk area increasing risk of injury. Ford negligently installed 9 kWh hybrid batteries in the 2019-2020 model vs a 7.6 kWh battery in the 2013-2018 Fusion energi models which likely caused the issue, yet has left the consumer with a vehicle that has lost it’s worth in addition to having to pay for gasoline to power the vehicle. In addition, Ford installed 3 g modem’s leaving consumers unable to use the Ford pass app as well. Ford buy back offer does not reflect depreciation of the vehicle due to this recall, further leaving consumers to pay for the issue Ford created.
