TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLING FAN AND CIRCUIT BREAKER WERE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DEALER (ONEONTA FORD, 5142 NY-23, ONEONTA, NY 13820, (607) 432-7300) DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY AND CIRCUIT BREAKER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT CHARGED THE BATTERY AND NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WAS STILL LOW. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY HOWEVER, THE BATTERY CAUGHT ON FIRE AND SPREAD TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 FORD MUSTANG GT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE ODOMETER FAILED AND WOULD NOT READ TRAVELED MILEAGE. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE AND ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE AT HIS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. CONSUMER GOT OUT OF CAR AND SMELLED SMOKE. THEN, SHE OPENED HOOD AND SAW FIRE. CONSUMER WAS NOT INJURED. *AK
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS CONSUMER HAS PROBLEMS WITH INSERTING KEY INTO IGNITION SWITCH, AT TIMES THE KEY IS HARD TO GET OUT AND THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT LINE UP TO INSERT KEY, CONSUMER STATES THAT ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE STARTED BY ITSELF. *TT
ENGINE LOSSES POWER AT ANY SPEED, SOMETIMES IT REGAINS BY IT SELF SOMETIME IT JUST DIES, WHEN IT DIES SOME TOMES IT STARTS RIGHT AWAY, SOMETIME WE HAVE TO WAIT BETWEEN 5 TO 15MINS RARE 30 MINS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, IT TOOK THEM A WHILE TO SAY SOMETHING, FINALY THEY SAID IT'S THE FUEL PUMP. I PAID $450.00 TO REPLACE IT, TOOK IT HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY IT LOST POWER AGAIN, TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY HAVE MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS BUT COULD NOT TELL ME WHATS WRONG WITH IT. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE DROVE TO FREEWAYS TO SIDE STREET & KEPT THE ENGINE RUNNING FOR 4 HRS & NOTHING. TOOK IT HOME AGAIN, ON MY WAY HOME THE ENGINE DIED, HEAD BACK TO THE DEALER TOOK THE MECHANIC FOR A RIDE FOR 45 MINS & NOTHING, THEY THINK I'M CRAZY. DROVE IT EVERYDAY TO & FROM WORK ONLY WITH LOTS OF PRAYERS. 08/24/01 GOING HOME, STARTED THE CAR, IT STARTED, GOING INTO THE STREET THE ENGINE DIED & COULD NOT RESTATED, CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT THE DEALER. I NOT SURE WHAT THEY WILL TELL ME THIS TIME. I LOVE MY CAR & GIVING IT UP IS NOT A OPTION. PLEASE HELP.*AK
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY 1995 FORD MUSTANG 5.0 STALLING. AFTER TAKING IT IN 4 TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH STARTING 6-8-00 AND FINALLY ON 7-22-00 THE FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE "STATOR" PART#E9TZ 12A112 A AT A COST OF $312.09. THIS WAS AFTER PAYING $476.68 FOR A NEW MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR, CLEANING OF THE INJECTORS, REPLACING THE AIR FILTER, AND FUEL FILTER THE FIRST TIME AROUND WHICH DID NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE 1995 MUSTANGS SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE 1994 MUSTANGS ARE IN IT. I HAVE ALL MY RECEIPTS PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I SHOULD PROCEED.*AK
CAR STALLED GOING 70 IN COMMUTE TRAFFIC. DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN. HAD TO PULL OFF ONTO EMERGENCY PARKING AREA, WAIT 5 MINUTES AND RESTARTED CAR. CAR STALLED TWO MORE TIMES, SAME PATTERN, LIGHT, ENGINE DEAD. HAD TO WAIT TO RESTART ENGINE. FORD TECH SUSPECTS AIR SCOOP SENSOR PROBLEM SENDING INACCURATE INFOMATION TO FUEL INJECTOR SYSTEM, INSUFFICIENT FUEL, CAUSING STALL. *AK
CAR STALLED IN COMMUTE TRAFFIC. ALL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS COME ON, ENGINE SHUTS DOWN. UNABLE TO START . PRIOR INCIDIENTS INCLUDE ENGINE STALLING AND RESTARTING WITHOUT TURNING IGNITION KEY. DEALERSHIP HAD CAR FOR 4 DAYS, COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM.*AK
PARKED CAR, BURST INTO FLAMES FEW MINUTES LATER. CAR IS TOTALED.*AK
IGNITION SWITCH OUTER RING ROTATES WITHOUT KEY INSERTION. WILL LET DOOR CHIME CONTINUOUSLY RING AND MAKES KEY INSERTION DIFFICULT.*AK
INNER PORTION OF KEYSWICH ROTATES INDEPENDANTLY OF OUTER PLASTIC/METAL PORTION. THIS MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO INSERT KEY, AND VERY DIFFICULT TO START VEHICLE. AND IN MANY CASES, CAR STARTS, BUT ALL 12VOLT ACCESSORIES (AL THAT USE THE IGN. ON 12V+ WIRING) WILL FAIL TO WORK (IE:RADIO, AC BLOWER, INTERIOR LIGHTING, GAUGES). ALSO SPOKE TO 10-12 OTHER 1995 MUSTANG (BASE AND GT OWNERS) OWNERS, AND THEY ALL HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, AND POSSIBLY IN EXTREME CASES CAUSE A FIRE NEAR THE AIRBAG ASSY. FORD CHANGED THE IGNITION KEY SYSTEM IN 1996. *AK
DUE TO DEFECTIVE TFI MODULE WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH MAY CAUSE A CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
MY 1995 MUSTANG'S IGNITION SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE. OFTENTIMES IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO INSERT OR REMOVE MY KEY, AND THE BLACK SWITCH GUARD AROUND THE KEY HAS ABOUT 1/2" OF FREE PLAY. I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS WHO HAVE NOTICED THE SAME PROBLEM ON THEIR '95S. ONCE MY KEY WOULDN'T GO IN AT ALL. *AK
IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT ACCEPT KEY. THE LOCK CYLINDER IS BAD..AND THIS IS COMMON WITH 5 OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS I PERSONALLY KNOW OF. (94-95 YEARS AFFECTED). *AK
WHEN PUT IN REVERSE IT BLOWS THE FUSE TO BACK UP LIGHTS,AIR BAG MODULE. ETC.*AK
SINCE ABOUT 95,000 MILES THE ENGINE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING AT SPEEDS FROM 20-70MPH. *AK
REAR TAIL LIGHTS ARE INOPERABLE. WHEN DEPRESSING BRAKES AND ATTEMTPING TO STOP, REAR TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE, THERE IS NO WARNING/ NO INDICATION THAT VEHICLE IS BEING STOPPED OR SLOWED DOWN. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER, DEALR HAS REPLACED 4-5 TAIL LIGHT SWITCHES, PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
VEHICLE STALLING ON ROADWAY, FORD UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM, RESTARTS AFTER COOLING
POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS MAY BE CAUSING HEADLIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS TO BLINK ON AND OFF. NLM
A FUSE HAS BLOWN 3 TIMES IN 3 DAYS. IT IS THE FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE SPEEDOMOTER, ODOMETER, INTERIOR LIGHTS, POWER LOCKS, RADIO, CLOCK. WHEN THE FUSE WAS REPLACED THE THIRD TIME IT BLEW IN MY FACE, AND WHEN I TURNED AROUND THERE WAS A BIG CLOUD OF SMOKE AND THERE WAS A DISTINCT STRONG SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING. I HAVE HAD MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SINCE I HAVE HAD IT (4 YEARS). ON MANY OCCASIONS THE DASH LIGHT HAS LIT UP DURING THE DAY ALL BY ITSELF. WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED AND THE KEYS ARE OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON IT CONTINUES TO DING. WHEN YOU TURN THE VOLUME UP OR DOWN MANY TIMES IT WILL BEGIN TO SCAN CHANNELLS BY ITSELF. ONCE WHEN THE BLINKER WAS TURNED ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON INSTEAD AND THEY WOULD NOT TURN OFF. *AK
DUE TO LOOSE WIRING THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, SUCH AS EXTERIOR AND INTERIORS LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK
