AIR BAG NON DEPLOYMENT!!!
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN THE VEHICLE HIT A GUARD RAIL AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVABLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED A FEW DAYS AFTER THE CRASH AND THEY FILED A REPORT. THE CONTACT HAD TO RENT A VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALER DID NOT WANT THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE OUT TO DIAGNOSE IT. NO ONE HAS GONE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAS NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER. THERE WERE MAJOR INJURIES, THE DRIVER SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND SPRAINED HIS SHOULDER. THE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WERE HEAVILY DAMAGED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD MUSTANG GT. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND A PINE TREE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED, ACCORDING TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 73,000. MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A SINGLE VEHICLE FRONT END COLLISION. SHE HIT A FIRE HYDRANT AFTER A 90 DEGREE SPIN AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 30 MPH. THE CAR SUSTAINED $6000 IN DAMAGE AND WAS TOTALED. NEITHER THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I QUESTIONED THE BODY SHOP IF THEY SHOULD HAVE, EVERYONE I TALKED TO FEELS THEY SHOULD HAVE. ISN'T THIS WHAT THEY ARE DESIGNED TO DO?
ON MAY 30, 2005, OUR DAUGHTER WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT IN HER 2000 FORD MUSTANG. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE EXITS WEREN''T CLEARLY MARKED, SHE DROVE OVER THE SIDEWALK, RESULTING IN APPROXIMATELY A FOUR INCH DROP OFF. AFTER WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR, SHE ACCELERATED TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT AND BOTH OF HER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. SHE WAS FORTUNATE THAT A POLICE OFFICER WITNESSED THIS INCIDENT. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE OFFICER, I WAS ASSURED THAT SPEED WAS NOT A FACTOR. I ALSO REVIEWED PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE AREA TO VIEW TO SEE THE DROP-OFF AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT WAS THE EQUIVALENT OF A ''HIGHWAY POT-HOLE'', WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE CAR ACCIDENT WHERE I LOST CONTROL AND JUMPED A CURB. MY CAR WAS A 2000 V6 MUSTANG COUPE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHEN THE CAR MADE CONTACT WITH THE CURB. BUT I WAS THEN AIRBORN IN THE CAR FOR ABOUT 12 FEET AND BY THE TIME MY CAR HIT THE GROUND MY AIR BAGS HAD DEFLATED, CAUSING MY PASSENGER TO HIT HER HEAD ON THE DASHBOARD. SHE HAD HER SEATBELT ON, AND BE KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. ALSO... WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED THEY CAME OUT WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT KNOCKED MY HANDS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL, CAUSING ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO STEER THE CAR .SCARED THAT IF THE TIRES WEREN'T STRAIGHT WHEN WE WOULD TOUCH DOWN THAT WE WOULD FLIP. THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED 2 DAYS AGO WHEN MY FRIEND WRECKED HIS 20'01 GT. HE HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CLIPPED A TELEPHONE POLL DOING ABOUT 50MPH. HE THEN JUMPED A DITCH... WENT AIRBORN... AND WRAPPED HIS CAR AROUND A TREE. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED,BUT HAD DEFLATED BY THE TIME HE HAD ANY REAL CONTACT. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN HE CLIPPED THE TELEPHONE POLL... BUT WHEN HE NEEDED IT MOST IT HAD ALREADY DEFLATED... CAUSING HIM TO HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THEN HAVING HIS HEAD GO THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. AIRBAGS DO NOT NEED TO DEFLATE SO QUICKLY. CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER STOPPED SUDDENLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE BEHIND TO BE INVOLVED IN A CRASH. MANUFACTURER TOLD CONSUMER TO REPORT INCIDENT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GARAGE. *AK
I WAS DRIVING A MUSTANG ON AN ICE ROAD WHEN I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND HIT A BIG TREE THAT WAS ON A DITCH. I HIT THE TREE WITH THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH CAUSED MY HEAD TO HIT SOMETHING AND I WAS BLEEDING REAL BAD AND NOW I HAVE A BIG SCAR ON MY FOREHEAD. *AK
WHILE DRIVING PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG WENT OFF INADVERTENTLY. PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES, AND WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONSUMER ROUNDED A CORNER NEAR A HIDDEN STOP LIGHT. ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS AT THE STOP LIGHT AND THE CONSUMER COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE LEFT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HIT THE RIGHT REAR OF THE OTHER MOTORIST. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AFTER THE COLLISION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES INVOLVED WITH THE COLLISION. THE POLICE DID ARRIVE ON THE SCENE, BUT NO ONE WAS CITED. THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT. *JB WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH CONSUMER REAR ENDED A VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE AIR BAG EQUIPMENT DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE SUFFERED UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE WHEN THE CONSUMER TRIED TO MISS THE OTHER VEHICLE BY TRYING TO JUMP THE CURB.*MR
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN HEAD ON COLLISION AT 15 MPH AND AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

WHILE STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION ANOTHER CAR DRIVING 20-30 MPH HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY,DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH CONSUMER RAN HEAD-ON INTO A TELEPHONE POLE, AND NONE OF FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CONTACTED DEALER ,AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *AK
CONSUMER WAS GOING 70-75MPH AND WAS HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SPIN. WHILE VEHICLE WAS SPINNING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT HEAD ON BY A VAN. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY ON FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER SIDE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP THE PASSENAGER AIR BAG OPENED INJURING THE PASSENAGER, NO FRONTAL COLLISION.
CONSUMER WAS GOING ABOUT 3 MPH WHEN VEHICLE TAPPED A POLE AND BOTH AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. NO DAMAGE TO VEHICLE EXCEPT SCRATCH ON RIGHT SIDE OF BUMPER. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER TESTED AIR BAG SENSORS DETECTED IN A CRASH . CONSUMER HAS NO RECOURSE.*AK
WHILE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 15-20 MPH HAD TO APPLY BRAKES HARD AND BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. DEALER SAID COMPUTER SHOWED VEHICLE HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THAT WAS WHY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.*AK
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 35 MPH. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE/ AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, FORCING DRIVER'S SIDE OCCUPANT INTO STEERING WHEEL HEAD FIRST WHICH BENT STEERING WHEEL. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO FRONT END OF VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
VEHICLE WAS GOING 30-40MPH WHEN, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN RED LIGHT, CAUSING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TO T-BONE OTHER VEHICLE. FRONT AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. CONSUMER WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. MANUFACTURER TOLD CONSUMER TO TAKE VEHICLE TO A DEALER, AND WOULD BE A CHARGED TO INSPECT VEHICLE. INSURANCE ADJUSTER WAS COMING OUT TO INSPECT IF VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.*AK
VEHICLE WAS HIT ON DRIVERS SIDE, AND DOOR PINNED AND COULD NOT OPEN UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WILL BE CONTACTED.*AK *YH
