TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS MODULE MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM TO IMPROPERLY ACTIVATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS MODULE FOR THE PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL WAS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED AND AN AFTERMARKET PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
FAILURES IN BRAKES SYSTEM ON MUSTANG GT 99 TO 2004 THE BRAKE BECAME FREEZE AFTER A HEAVY TRANSIT AND THE CAR LOST THE STOPPING ACTION. FORD INFORM ME THAT WE NEED TO CHANGES THE BRAKE OIL BUT WE CHANGED OIL, PADS, LINE, ROTORS, ETC AND THE CAR REMAIN WITH THE PROBLEMS. IN MY CASE I LOST THE BRAKE ACTION AND HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
I 'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES OF MY MUSTANG GT 2000. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 13500 DRIVING MILES AND FOR THREE OCCASIONS I HAD BEEN WITH THE BRAKES BECAUSE ITS HAS THE STICKING PROBLEMS (FRONT LEFT SIDE AND REAR RIGHT SIDE). EVENTUALLY THE PADS AND CALIPERS TURNED HOT AND BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE CAR. THE LAST TIME OF THIS EVENT THE CAR WAS ON AN ACCIDENTS AND WE WENT DOWN ON A HILL AND MY CAR BROKE DOWN THE FRONT PART. I WAS READING IN INTERNET MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH MUSTANG FROM 99-04. *TR
1)BREAK CALIPERS STOP FUNCTIONING 2)BREAK PADS AND ROTORS FAIL PREMATURELY DUE TO UNEVEN WEAR 3)COMPLETE BREAK JOB WITH REPLACEMENT OF CALIPER. *NM
NOTICED CAR NOSE DIVED A LITTLE BIT MORE WHEN BRAKING, PLUS EXTRA DISTANCE REQUIRED TO COME TO FULL STOP. REAR BRAKES WERE RECENTLY REPLACED DUE TO THE ARMATURE GUIDE PIN(S) IN THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY BECOMING FROZEN. ONE PIN IN EACH REAR ASSEMBLY (THE SAME PIN IN BOTH). EXTRA BRAKING STRESS PUT ON FRONT BRAKES REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF ROTORS DUE TO LOSS OF MINIMAL THICKNES (NOT DUE TO GOUGING AND TURNING).*AK
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S POWER BRAKE BOOSTER.*MR THE BRAKES WERE NOISY WHEN USED. THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. *NM
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 25MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER TAPPED THE BRAKES AND VEHICLE SKID INTO A GUARDRAIL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 45 MPH ANOTHER VEHILCE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF CONSUMER, CAUSING CONSUMER TO SLAM ON BRAKES. BRAKES LOCKED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SKID. VEHICLE HAD EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER HAD BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
CONSUMER STATED WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES LOCKED UP CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HAVE A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS *TT
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLES ABS LOCKED UP. *NLM
THERE WAS A PIN THAT SNAGGED THE BRAKE LINES AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. *JG
WHILE DRIVING ON WET PAVEMENT AND WHEN APPLYING BRAKES OR MAKING A TURN VEHICLE SKIDS OUT OF CONTROL. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
BRAKING PROBLEM OCCURS MOST EVERY TIME YOU COME TO A STOP VERY DANGEROUS. *AK
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT ANY SPEED, VEHICLE PULLS TO LEFT OR RIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. DEALER HAS REPLACED FRONT BRAKES AND TIRES, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.*AK THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD AN ALIGNMENT. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT ALL MUSTANGS WITH 17 INCH WHEELS PULL WHEN BRAKING. *JG
EXCESSIVE WEAR OF FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. ROTORS HAD TO BE TURNED TWICE WITHIN NINE MONTHS, 12,000 -19,000 MILES. DEALER NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE CALIPER MOUNT AND CALIPER PIN RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO LOCK UP, THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO GREASE THE CALIPER PIN AND MOUNT WHEN VEHICLE WAS FIRST BUILT.*JB
BRAKE PROBLEMS PRIOR TO ACCIDENT, BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP, AND STAYED LOCKED EVEN AFTER FOOT TAKEN OFF BRAKE PEDAL. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE, COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 37 MPH VEHICLE WENT OFF ROAD AND INTO CULVERT. *AK
ABOUT 2 1/2 MONTHS AGO MY BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING MY CAR. HE ASK ME IF I HAD EVER HAD THE "BRAKES NOT WANT TO WORK ON ME" I WAS DRIVING AND I CAME TO A STOP SIGN. THERE WERE 2 CARS ALREADY SETTING AT THE SIGN. WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES HARD THEY DID NOT GO DOWN AS THEY NORMALLY WOULD IT FELT LIKE SOMETHHING WAS KEEPING THE BRAKES FROM WORKING. I JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE CARS IN FRONT JUMPING A CURB THEN IT WAS LIKE THE BRAKES KICKED IN AND STARTED WORKING AND LOCKED UP.*AK
BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE HEATER OUTLET RELATIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL, I AM UNABLE TO EASILY SWITCH BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL; PARTICURALY IN EMERGENCY, PANIC SITUATIONS WHERE IT IS NECESSARY TO MOVE IMMEDIATELY FROM ONE PEDAL TO THE OTHER. I HAVE SHOE SIZE 13 0OR 14. *AK

HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES AND I HAD THE DEALER LOOK INTO PROBLEM WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN SERVICE FOR AN UNRELATED PROBLEM. DEALER REPORTED THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. *AK
HAND BRAKE RELEASES ON ITS OWN WITHOUT WARNING. PARKED CAR TODAY ON SLIGHT INCLINE AND EXITED CAR (ENGINE NOT RUNNING), HEARD A LOUD BANG (BRAKE RELEASED) AND CAR STARTED TO ROLL AWAY. WIFE WAS IN CAR AND SUCCESSFULLY GOT HER LEG OVER CONSOLE AND APPLIED FOOT BRAKE (HAND BRAKE WOULD NOT ENGAGE).*AK
