TAKATA RECALL I AM A FORD MUSTANG OWNER OF A 2007 AND THERE IS A AIR BAG RECALL ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK AND HEAD, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

"TAKATA RECALL" I BOUGHT THIS CAR 'NEW' IN 2007. FORD HAS NEVER SENT A RECALL NOTICE TO MY CORRECT ADDRESS. FORD HAS MY CORRECT ADDRESS ON FILE BUT THEY BLAME A 3RD PARTY THAT USES DMV RECORDS. I HAVE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE DMV HAS MY CORRECT ADDRESS FROM VEHICLE REGISTRATION, DRIVERS LICENSE, AND OTHER STATE I.D. MY RECALL NOTICES ARE BEING SENT TO AN ADDRESS THAT I HAVE NEVER LIVED AT AND FORD CAN NOT CORRECT THIS SITUATION. THEY HAVE NOTES ON THIS PROBLEM GOING BACK TO 2012 WHEN I MOVED FROM TARRANT COUNTY TO DALLAS COUNTY. THEY ARE SENDING MY RECALL NOTICES TO GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS. FORD HAS STATED VIA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR RECALL DEPARTMENT THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO AND THAT I NEED TO CONTACT THE DMV.

TAKATA RECALL - MY SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26 / NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 FOR 2 YEARS, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS INFLATOR RECALL RESOLVED WITH FORD. I HAVE BEEN TOLD MULTIPLE TIMES PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A VERY LARGE RECALL, BUT 2 YEARS IS UNREASONABLE AND I NEED THIS REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE HAD MY MUSTANG TO THE FORD DEALER 2 TIMES NOW TO DEAL WITH THE AIR BAG RECALL. THEY DIDNT COMPLETE THE WORK. THEY ONLY DID 1/2 THE JOB AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY RECEIVED THE REST OF THE PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. NOW I UNDERSTAND THERE IS NO REMEDY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 1 YEAR AND I NEED TO USE MY CAR. CANT SELL IT BECAUSE IT HAS AN ACTIVE RECALL. WHAT AM I TO DO? DRIVE A DANGEROUS CAR AND POSSIBLY HURT MY GRANDKIDS? I WANT A RESOLUTION, EITHER DISCONNECT THE AIR BAG OR REPLACE IT.

I WAS INFORMED VIA LETTER DATED MARCH 2018 BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY, DEARBORN, MI THAT THE PARTS FOR RECALL 16S26 WERE NOW AVAILABLE AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS AUTHORIZED MY DEALER TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, I CALLED RIGHT AWAY AND AGAIN TODAY JUNE 8,2018 AND AM TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE TO TAKE MY NAME OR ANY INFO TO CALL ME, TIRED OF WAITING,
TAKATA RECALL, PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COULD RUPTURE IN AN ACCIDENT KILLING MY PASSENGER. MY PASSENGER IS GOING TO BE SOMEONE I LOVE SO THE LAW SUITE WILL BE SEVERE. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS! NOT HAVING A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM YET IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
GOT A RECALL LETTER TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG PASSENGER SIDE
"TAKATA RECALL" - I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN 10 MONTHS FOR MY LOCAL DEALER, COURTESY FORD, POCATELLO, IDAHO TO GET IN THE PARTS FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I HAVE PERSONALLY CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN DEARBORN, MI FOR THEM TO TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, "PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND SCHEDULE AND APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED". SINCE FEBRUARY 2017, I HAVE WRITTEN REGULARLY VIA EMAIL WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER OF PACIFICO FORD OF PHILADELPHIA PA ABOUT HAVING NHTSA RECALL 16V384 (PASSENGER AIRBAG) APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE, A 2007 MUSTANG SHELBY GT. OVER A PERIOD OF 17 MONTHS, I HAVE NOTICED RESPONSES THAT INDICATE THE DEALER IS EITHER OVERWHELMED WITH THESE INQUIRIES, IS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING PARTS TO SATISFY THE GOVERNMENT'S RECALL, OR IS OTHERWISE UNWILLING OR UNABLE TO PERFORM THEM. IT HAS BEEN 17 MONTHS SINCE I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT APPLYING THIS RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 25 MONTHS SINCE RECALL 16V384 WAS ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS SENT ME A LETTER INDICATING THAT I MUST AVOID PLACING PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I NEED NHTSA'S HELP.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT NOR DID IT CONTACT ANY OBJECT, VEHICLE OR OTHERWISE. I WAS SIMPLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT THE POSTED SPEED, UNDER DRY CONDITIONS, ON A STRAIGHT ASPHALT 2 LANE PUBLIC ROAD WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THE FORD DEALER INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WOULD SERVICE IT BY REPLACING THE AIRBAG AND DEFECTIVE INFLATOR, WHEREBY THE INFLATOR IS UNDER A RECALL. AFTER DROPPING OFF MY VEHICLE I WAS CONTACTED BY THE DEALER TO TELL ME FORD MOTOR COMPANY WOULD NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THE AIRBAG MODULE; AND IT WAS MY (THE CONSUMER) RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG MODULE.

TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED NOTICES IN 2015 AND 2016 ABOUT AIRBAG RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. IT IS MAY OF 2018 AND STILL CANNOT FIND A DEALERSHIP WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE THAT HAS PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. 3 YEARS WITH NO PARTS IS ABSURD. I HAVE CALLED 3 DEALERSHIPS EVERY 3 MONTHS FOR 3 YEARS TRYING TO GET THESE PARTS REPLACED WITH NO SUCCESS. WHAT MORE DO I NEED TO DO IN ORDER ACTUALLY HAVE THE PARTS REPLACED?
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN JULY 2016 OF THE RECALL OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AVAILABILITY OF REPLACEMENT PARTS HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY DELAYED. AS OF A DECEMBER 2017 NOTICE THE EARLIEST PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE IS SPRING 2018. THE ADVISORY WARNS THAT NO PASSENGERS SHOULD OCCUPY THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL REPAIRS ARE MADE. THE DELAY OF PART AVAILABILITY IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CAN'T CARRY A PASSENGER, AND HAS LIMITED RESALE VALUE DUE TO THE DEFECT.

DEALER WAS CONTACTED FOR REPLACEMENT OF PASSENGER AIRBAG. DEALER ESTIMATES IT WILL BE AT LEAST 6 MONTHS UNTIL THE REPAIR CAN BE MADE. FORD IS PROVIDING A RENTAL VEHICLE, BUT DRIVER MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD OR 18 YEARS OLD WITH A WAIVER. PROBLEM: MY DAUGHTER IS 17 AND 6+ MONTH WAITING PERIOD IS UNACCEPTABLE.
FORD CONTINUES TO MAIL MY RECALL NOTICES TO AN ADDRESS THAT I HAVE NEVER LIVED AT. THIS IS MY 2ND COMPLAINT TO YOU ABOUT THIS MATTER. FORD USES A 3RD PARTY TO OBTAIN THEIR MAILING INFORMATION AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY TO CHANGE MY ADDRESS. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY USE THE DMV REGISTRATION RECORDS BUT MY RENEWALS ARE MAILED TO ME AT MY CORRECT ADDRESS. YOU NEED TO INVESTIGATE HOW MANY FORD OWNERS ARE NOT GETTING NOTIFIED ABOUT THEIR RECALLS DUE TO FORD'S MISMANAGEMENT OF THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL-I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE EARLY DECEMBER 2017 FOR A FIX TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALL. NO RESOLUTION BY TAKATA TO DATE AND I WAS ADVISED NOT TO HAVE ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I NEED TO DRIVE COWORKERS AND FRIENDS/FAMILY FREQUENTLY AND THIS IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. I WAS WARNED IN THE LETTER FROM FORD THAT DEATH CAN RESULT IF THE AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED AT THE PASSENGER SEATING. PLEASE HELP EXPEDITE THIS RECALL IF POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!
