2018 Honda CR-V FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

There is a Fuel pump recall in my 2018 Honda CRV , i call yesterday to dealer where i bought car from, i talk to the person in part department and he told me they have new fuel pump to replace he transfer me to service department to set up appointment and i did, when i went there today they told me we have part but not the tool to replace your fuel pump, which i believe is total [XXX] and gross discrimination by dealer, i mean million of dollar dealership don't have part to replace recall item. i urge NHTSA to take strong action against Honda Automobile and the dealer, there may be million other like me. I was notified by Honda that the fuel pump on my 2018 Honda CR-V would be replaced when replacement pumps became available. That was in May of 2024. As of this writing, I have not heard from my local dealer (Honda World, Louisville, KY) or Honda corporate about the availability of a replacement.

Since my Honda dealership (Charlie's Motor Mall) has no recall parts and doesn't know when they will get them, I had our mechanic order the part from Honda to replace the recalled part. No Honda dealership or parts distributor are allowed to sell this part. So, I have asked our mechanic to install an after-market fuel pump instead. Honda sounds like they are breaking the law. How can they order another business that has the parts in stock not to sell them? Winter is approaching and all I want it is a safe vehicle to drive. Our local Honda dealerships (Charlie's Motor Mall and Lee Honda) state there is nothing they can do without doing a $150 diagnostic on my engine. Shouldn't this work be covered by the recall? This sounds very dangerous to have an identified vehicle problem and not having it fixed ASAP. So, I am having the new after market fuel pump installed and will be forwarding the bill to Honda for reimbursement. Honda needs a trip to the woodshed!

Dealer states recall repair cannot be completed due to lack of parts.

My car does lag when I'm driving on the highway. I need a letter emailed or sent by mail showing that the part is being ordered for my car so I can forward with my loan. The company will not go forward with my loan. I need the part fixed ASAP or a letter showing that the part is getting delivered.

The car smelled of gas. The mechanic said the computer indicated that the fuel mixture was too rich. Upon inspection he found my oil even smelled of gas. He felt the car was unsafe to drive and at high risk of fire. The fuel injectors do not function properly. IDK how many complaints you have received but once I experienced it I found many reports of similar nature online so before something really bad happens hope it can be reviewed.

Nothing happened - fortunately. I want to know why there's no remedy for this recall? Is Honda just waiting on a problem? I want my Mom to be safe and have no issues. Can you/Honda please work toward a speedy solution and keep us updated? This is my Mom's vehicle and she lives in Indiana. I'm her son and I live in South Carolina.

The fuel injectors caused engine ecm to set codes for missfire and cylinder inbalance. as a result of the car disabled all adas systems such as lane keep lane departure ,forward colision alerts, parking brake,cruise control. 11 different warning messages scrolled across dash.Car was diagnosed at independant import specialist garage as needing fuel injectors. Car has 82,000 miles. Garage told me this was common on hondas and honda had extended warranty on the fuel injectors on v6 cars ,but not on 1.5 4cyl cars. I purchased this car new with expectations of increased safety, however when a part failure shuts these systems down it defeats that purpose. I have driven mutiple cars to 300,000+ miles and never had to replace fuel injectors. just google crv fuel injector problems and you will see i am not the only case of this

Hi I had issue with the car before my car had the recall.And I had fixed issue.I would like get reimburse from automaker.I have documents and receipts describing what has been fixed and what was wrong.They told my wife saying we don't have part and inform us when they have the part available and later we got mail says our car is not equipped with that part which I fixed (fuel injector) already.I don't see my VIN number under recall anymore.I need assistance to get my money back.Thank you.

Please reference NHTSA recall # 23V-858. In the Remedy section of the NHTSA recall description it states, 'The dealer will replace the fuel pump module with an improved part.' The actual recall notice states 'The replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle are not currently available but are expected to be available in the fall of 2024'! Honda lists this as an IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL and failure of the pump may result in a crash or injury. I'll have to drive my CR-V for the next, at least, 6 months facing this possibility. Multiple lights on dash and car would not go. My car could not be driven because of the risk of cutting off and someone hitting me. I took my car to the dealership and had the same problem as my other Honda back in 2022.

All system failure lights are on , emission failure, brake system, brake, hold system,power steering, vehicle stability, hill start assist, adaptive cruise, collision mitigation, road dept, electric parking. These lights stay on for a few days then turn off. Was able to get to dealership to have codes read. Determined to be fuel injectors need replaced at cost of $1800.

Manufacturer Recall NumberKGC NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858 I have been trying desperately to get my car serviced to address the safety recall, and many car dealerships are hanging up on me when I try to schedule appointments. My car has been stalling while driving as a result of this recall issue. Please help as I now fear for my safety driving my vehicle since Honda locations are not helping me resolve this issue.

I have not experienced a problem with my vehicle yet, but your website says, “If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA”. I am just writing to let you know that I called the dealer, and they told me they do not have a remedy for the problem yet. I am now concerned that I could have a problem but have no way to resolve the issue. I have to travel shortly after Christmas and will just have to pray that nothing happens.

ALL malfunction indicator lights would go on at the same time intermittently. This caused safety systems to stop working and was a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE for my family. Diagnostics at my local Honda dealer diagnosed code P0303 Cylinder Misfire/Leaking Injectors. This has been a common problem amongst various 2016-2019 Honda vehicles, and some of them have had extended warrranty coverage by Honda, however, not my 2018 CRV. The fuel injectors needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,621.18. This was a known problem at Honda, and my vehicle should have been covered with an extended warranty. Fuel injectors should not have to be replaced so early in the life cycle ( and relatively low mileage ) of a vehicle driven with care.

All warning dash lights intermittently appear and then turn off sometimes within hours, and sometimes days later. This issue has been occurring for the past two years. The first diagnosis was the battery which was replaced a year and a half ago. This issue represented again a few months after the battery was replaced and has started to happen more frequently over the past few months. I took my vehicle in to be inspected, and was told a misfire code was showing up for the fuel injectors. My vehicle is only 5 years old and this issue started when it was only 3 years old. Fuel injectors should last longer than 5 years and certainly longer than 3 years. I am aware of other CRV’s receiving an extended warranty on fuel injectors, and I have read of several other customers having the same issue with fuel injectors being the diagnosis. It seems that this issue should be considered a recall, as the safety features do not operate when these warning lights pop up.

All warning lights for ALL systems going off at once while car was being driven and rotating across dash board indicating complete system failure . Car drove well but dealer says fuel injectors are faulty at 62000 miles and unsafe to drive. Car dropped off at dealer 4/23/23- and now 5/11/23. The dealer says no parts available as this is a multi model malfunction across all HONDA cars from multiple years. There is NO eta on when an part may be available and no offer of loaner car.

For second time in 9 days, car taken to Krenzen Honda dealer, Duluth, MN as car goes into “limp mode” and all warning lights keep cycling through and beeping. When in limp mode, very unsafe for car to suddenly drop to 10 miles per hour - on the freeway, this would be life threatening! Krenzen told us about 2 weeks ago it now needs fuel injectors. We’re told by dealer over 8000 Hondas from 2017-19 in need of fuel injectors. They said could be 4-6 weeks! We live in Tucson, AZ and need to drive home in less than 3 weeks. This is ridiculous to not only need fuel injectors for a 5 year old car, but to wait for such a long time for these parts! IS THIS GOING TO BE A RECALL SOON??

Fuel injector failure at 68,000

The car would hesitate and slow down upon acceleration from a stop or slow speed. Could easily have caused the drivers behind me to hit me if they weren't paying attention.

Took CRV into Honda dealership for oil change and tire rotation. They also completed a multipoint inspection. Within 2 hours of leaving dealership, car stalled on the highway and showed errors all over the dashboard. Was able to get crv to start back up, but errors continued and car would jerk when trying to accelerate over 33mph. Called Honda dealership who said battery must have failed. Had battery tested, it was good. Jiffy lube was the closest place to have the car checked. Technician found cap wasn’t replaced correctly after oil change, causing the oil that had just been put in to leak out, and recommended returning to Honda. Returned to Honda dealership, who after 2 days diagnosed a fuel tank failure. Prior to oil change, vehicle did not have any issues with starting/stalling or error codes. 2018 crv with less than 70,000 miles. Was purchased completely new.

My 2018 CRV began idling rough so I scheduled an appointment. When I arrived, indicated that it sounded like I needed fuel injectors which they see alot with the CRV. After diagnostics on 7/17/2023, I was given a repair estimate of $2067, then told the parts were backordered until at least 8/13/2023. I have never had to replace fuel injectors on any other car I've owned. This issue has been recalled on other models and apparently the dealerships are well aware of the issue - replacing so many of these that Honda cant keep them in stock. A $2067 repair estimate for a faulty part is unreasonable at 80,000 miles. Even more concerning is that every warning light and chime in my car is going off and the advanced safety features are disabled. I cant drive with a cell phone in my hand due to distraction but apparently it is okay to drive around with warnings, chimes and disabled safety features.

Vehicle was stuttering when accelerating, usually when cold. This is unsafe since someone behind me could have run into the rear of my car if they weren't paying attention. I took into dealership and they found errors and had to replace the fuel injectors. Vehicle only had 78556 miles and was no longer covered by warranty.

Fuel pump stopped working. While driving, I pressed down the gas and car stopped working.

My car's fuel pump system quit working without warning or noticed. My car stalled in an intersection and caused serious concern for my safety. Honda has a safety recall for other Honda CRV 2018 vehicles but not my vin number. My car only has 54,000 miles on it and it is very odd that this recall is the same problem I'm having. "Fuel pump inoperability could prevent an engine from starting or stall an engine while driving, increasing the risk of a crash"
