Our complaint is in regards to the factory horn Honda is installing on the current generation of CR-Vs. After purchase one week ago of our 2024 model year, we noticed the horn was very faint. Believing it to be a defect, we researched online and found that it is as designed. The horn is so poor that dealers are selling "upgrade kits" and posting online videos on how to install. The standard horn comes as a single high-tone that is insufficient. These kits include a second low-tone horn and a y-splitter cable that will hook into the factory single high-tone horn. Once the low tone is installed, the horn sounds and functions as any vehicle should be expected to function. But otherwise, the factory single high-tone is inadequate and not safe. I have tested this by having my spouse behind me on the roadway in clear weather at night and stopped at a red light. The horn is very faint and not adequate enough to provide proper warning if needed. If I was not expecting the horn test from my spouse, I would not have thought it was a vehicle horn at all. Now consider adding in poor weather and driving at 70mph, the horn would do nothing to warn another driver from an improper lane change to avoid a collision. With over 10 years of law enforcement and traffic-related experience, I am asking that this matter be investigated and require Honda to issue a recall to bring their horns up to standard by providing the fix to owners at no charge to add the low-tone second horn so that the vehicle will sound a warning at a volume and depth as needed in everyday usage. Buyers should not have to pay to upgrade this most basic of safety equipment and does not provide good optics for Honda to cut costs in this way and increase margin for dealers as an aftermarket kit.
I bought this new car about a week ago. I was parked in the church parking lot and put car in reverse to back out of the lot and the car went forward. This happened 3 x's for me. A Gentleman from church was walking out and I asked him to check and the same thing happened to him about 6 times but finally the car kicked into reverse. He followed me home to check that I got home alright. I called Hennessey Honda the next morning and the sent a tow truck out to tow the car to them. They said they could not get the car to duplicate the action and no codes showed up which really frightened me as I am fearful that it could happen again .
We are having issues with our new CRV hybrid. We hear clicking sound whenever we are on uphill curvy road. Another issue is the driver’s side mirror appears distorted/blurry.
The vehicle's backup camera is glitching out. Switching between black and white and color it poses a distraction and risk for hitting something.
Back up camera flips from color into black and white. Not only is this distracting when using the back up camera, it also alters one's depth perception. I took my car to the dealer, they said it could be the audio entertainment system and it took them 4 months to get a replacement. The dealership told me it could be causes from too much light in the camera, the system overheating or an unknown cause. I had the camera switch to black and white on cooler days in my garage as well as out side on cloudy days. So far replacing the audio/entertainment system has fixed the issue but the dealership said it's likely going to go back to black and while and my next steps would be to "wait for Honda to find a fix for this issue".
Driver door side mirror cracked into 2 pieces. The Blind Side Assistance light still works. Just glass crack. Seemed to happen after or during a cold snap. It just showed up. I had been hearing a loud click or crack sounds from that area off and on while driving.
I bought my brand new 2024 CRV EX-L in March 2024. From day one the driver side mirror has vibrated at speeds of 40 or over. When I’m on the highway at 65-70 it moves so much it blurs the image. It is very difficult to look at the mirror while it moves and at night it is even more dangerous. I took it to the Service Center at Hamilton Honda in Hamilton, NJ and they said they noticed a slight vibration. However, they were not concerned because I could still see through the mirror. It was obvious they were aware and had likely heard of the issue before. Since they had no solution, they made it seem as if it was not a big deal and I should just live with it. Quite a disappointing experience from a serve department. I’ve had Toyotas and a Mazda and was always treated very well by their service departments. Frankly this experience with Honda was the worst. It seems that Honda has had the mirror issue with other vehicles in 2020-2022 and recalls were issued. Therefore, it appears Honda is aware of the safety issue regarding the mirror.
Summary American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2023-2025 multi-model year Honda vehicles. Due to improper production of the high-pressure fuel pump, cracks can form at the solenoid core component of the fuel pump. As a result, a fuel leak can occur in lower mileage vehicles when the high-pressure fuel pump is in operation. Safety Risk If a fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, the risk of a fire, crash, or injury are increased. However, for this safety risk recall, corrective action is not in place and there is not available part. There is no readily available good part to replace defective high pressure fuel pump and need to wait one month for order by dealers. Who is going to be liable and responsible if anything happens until the part is available? Honda is not addressing my concern and are not willing to deal with it
Sunroof exploded while I was driving down a busy interstate. Cover was half open so glass fell into front seat of car. Honda denied having it replaced for no charge. I had the glass replaced at the Honda dealership with my money.
The driver side mirror is vibrating while driving at any speed, as well as serious mirror distortion. You don’t have to be moving to see the distortion, as no matter what angle it’s viewed at, it distorts the view. This is a serious safety issue while driving and needs to be addressed
The car horn that is supplied as part of this car is, in my opinion, very dangerous. The horn emits an audible sound that hardly gets attention from others, be they fellow drivers and or pedestrians. I an not at all comfortable driving this car with this horn. To this point, there are Honda dealers selling auxiliary horns to help combat the issue. YouTube has a number of people that have posted on the subject. Please take this issue seriously and force Honda to do something about it. I took my son to school and there was frost on the mirror and windshield and used the defrost. Came home parried in a gated area. Not exposed to any other elements. And a few hours later went to run some errands and mirror on driver side was cracked. I believe it has to do with the heated defrost. No signs of crack or anything. It is now on back order. Not covered by warranty and I am unsafe driving as it gives double vision as I’m driving it obstructs my view especially when I want to change lanes. Very unsafe. I have found many people have been complaining of this same incident happening to them. And this is something Thant needs to be recalled. ASAP. I have not even had my car for a month and this is already an issue.
Driver side mirror is distorted. When looking at the mirror, it makes me dizzy and nearly nauseous. The distorted visibility is definitely a safety concern.
I pulled into a parking space and I was in the process of stopping and almost completely stopped. The car started moving and sped up. I was on the brakes. It kept going faster. While I was thinking about what to do, I hit a sign with a brick base, but the car didn't stop. I thought of putting it in neutral, like they recommended when the Toyotas did this several years ago. In neutral, the car stopped. By that time, I had gone across a busy street and pulled into the parking lot of a gas station. Luckily, I didn't hit any other cars or the gas pumps.
The side mirror developed a crack without any apparent impact damage. My vehicle was securely parked inside the garage, and I discovered the cracked mirror when I woke up in the morning. It appears to be a broader problem, as evidenced by a Reddit forum where individuals who have bought the 2024 Honda CRV are sharing similar experiences. Side driver mirror cracked obstructing view.
Driver side veiw mirror is distorted making images look out of focus. This defect make me feel sick when operating the vehicle.
The AC in heat mode between 76F - 80F makes a bubbling noise on driver side vent - this might be improper seal in evaporated core.
DRIVER SIDE MIRROR VIBRATES WHILE DRIVING
The Reverse camera unit is turning black and white often (while randomly it's switching to color). The sudden change in the image coloring is distracting me a lot while I'm driving. I had taken the vehicle back to dealership the immediate day after I bought my vehicle, they were able to reproduce it and asked me to leave the vehicle and after a week I was told the case is with Honda as there are many complaints across many vehicles, while dealer is waiting for Honda's solution and I was asked to take my vehicle. With no date for the fix, it's frustrating & puts me in lots of mental pressure. I've email thread with dealership if there needs any additional proof.
Driver side mirror vibration & shaking, blurry and hard to see from that mirror. Hood vibrating at highway speeds
