TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS HOT, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT HOT, THE CONTACT HAD NO ISSUES STARTING THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING WOULD ILLUMINATE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 169,400.
I BELIEVE STRONGLY, IT HAS TO DO WITH MY IGNITION. MY ENGINE JUST QUITS WITHOUT ANY WARNING. ONE TIME IT QUIT ON ME WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGH WAY. AND MULTIPLE TIMES IT QUITS ON THE REGULAR DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 199,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT ANY TIME WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
I GOT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON RECENTLY FOR MY 2000 HONDA ODYSSEY, WITH THE CODE P0740. IT'S REALLY UNLUCKY FOR SO BAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *TR
THE ENGINE OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY SHUT-OFF WHILE ON THE ROAD (LOCAL OR FREEWAY) WITH ALL ENGINE LIGHTS LIT ON DASHBOARD. MOST OF THE TIME THE ENGINE WOULD COME BACK ON BY ITSELF AFTER 1 TO 2 SECONDS. BUT OCCASIONALLY I NEED TO PULL OVER THE CAR TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS SYMPTOM HAS BEEN HAPPENING ALMOST EVERYTIME I DROVE THE VEHICLE IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS. *TR
THE VAN ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHILE MY FAMILY AND I WERE ON THE THIRD LANE. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT TRYING TO GET TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. VAN SPEED WAS DOWN TO 40MPH WHILE MAKING RIGHTS TO GET THE RIGHT SHOULDER. THE VAN STARTED IMMEDIATELY, AND WE WENT ON OUR WAY. AFTER EXITING THE FREE WAY THE ENGINE AGAIN STOPPED BUT THIS TIME WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. THE LIGHTS TURNED RED AND I WAS BLOCKING ON COMING TRAFFIC AND THE PERSON BEHIND ME WAS HONKING HIS HORN. I PUT THE VAN IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE IT AND CONTINUED THROUGH THE RED LIGHT. MEAN WHILE MY WIFE NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I GOT HOME THAT EVENING I REMOVED THE COVER AND IGNITION SWITCH WAS OVERHEATING AND KILLING THE ENGINE ( SOLDER JOINTS ON THE WIRES WERE MELTING). I LOOKED UP THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND IT CONFORMED THE SWITCH PROBLEM ALSO THE VAN WAS RECALLED FOR THAT REASON. I CALL HONDA AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS RECALL WAS DONE ON THIS VAN. THE ENGINE STOPPED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING TILL I GOT THE PART REPLACED. THE ISSUE HERE IS THAT THE RECALL DID NOT WORK, AND THE REPLACED PARTS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE ORIGINAL RECALL ( OVERHEATING SWITCH) . I HAVE REPLACED THE SWITCH. BUT THE DESIGN IS STILL BAD AND THAT WILL HELP ONLY TEMPORARY. STOPPING THE VAN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREE WAY OF THE INTERSECTION COMES WITH HEAVY RISKS. *TR

1999 HONDA ODYSSEY COMPLETE STALL OF ENGINE WHEN TRAVELING AT 60 MPH. ENGINE STALLS ALL DASH LIGHTS COME ON AND CAR POWER THEN COMES BACK. PROBLEM ALSO HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED OR AT LIGHT STALLS AND NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED IN A FEW ATTEMPTS. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REMOVE SOME OF THE KEYS FROM THE KEY CHAIN. THAT REMEDY ONLY WORKED TEMPORARILY. ON JULY 15, 2007, THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 168,792 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
TENSION WHEEL TO SERPENTINE BELT IS CORRODING CAUSING PREMATURE WEARING OUT OF SERPENTINE BELT. NO ACCIDENT NO INJURY. *JB
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE TCS LIGHT ONE YEAR AFTER HAVING MY ENTIRE STEERING RACK REPLACED. ON 10/06/03 (AND 81,372 MILES), I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER. I TOLD THE TECHNICIAN THAT AGAIN I FELT MY CAR DRIVING ROUGH AND SLUGGISH ON ACCELERATIONS. THEY ASKED ME WHAT KIND OF GAS I WAS USING.(?) FOUND CODE P0420 "CATALYTIC EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD. INTERMITTENT CODE". THE DEALER RESET THE LIGHT.*AK
02/25/03-CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 65,654 MILES. DEALER INSTALLED NEW EGR PIPE KIT. TCS LIGHT IS ON AS WELL. DEALER SAID IT WAS RELATED TO JOB #1. *AK
CAM PLUG FAILED, CAUSING OIL LEAK. DEALER NOTIFIED. PH. *AK
ON FOUR OCCASIONS THE VEHICLES ENGINE SHUTS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING, ALL FOUR OCCURANCES HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *MJ
MY 1999 HONDA ODYSSEY ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY ROAD. IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AGAIN BUT A VERY DANGEROUS SITUTION.*AK
CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, CONSUMER WAS THEN INFORMED THAT BAD FUEL MAY HAVE BEEN USED, AND THE DEALER CLEANED THE EGR SYSTEM, HOWEVER SEVERAL WEEKS LATER CONSUMER RECEIVED A NOTICED REGARDING THE PCV AND EGR CLOGGING, CONSUMER THEN PETITIONED THE DEALER FOR A REFUND, AND WAS SUSEQUENTLY REIMBURSED.*JB

ENGINE SUDDENLY QUITE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED . ALL GAUGES, DIALS, ETC. WENT BLANK AND VEHICLE SUFFERED A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. ABLE TO RESTART EACH TIME, EITHER BY PLACING VEHICLE IN "N" OR PULLING TO SIDE OF ROAD. VEHICLE REQUIRED NO MORE THAN TWO ATTEMPTS TO RESTART.*AK
THE ENGINE HAS HAD A CONTINUAL OIL LEAKAGE PROBLEM, EIGHT REPORTS AND REPAIR ATTEMPTS SINCE FIRST REPORTED IN JULY 1999, HOWEVER THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO LEAK OIL. *MJS
