2019 Honda Odyssey FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE

The front facing camera located at the top of the windshield goes bad and affects multiple systems. The manufacturer is aware of this issue. While the part only costs $150 - the dealerships want to charge upwards of $2000 to replace the camera - they say that owners are not allowed to replace it themselves. You cannot disable the advanced features. This issue is extremely common across all Honda models that use this camera.

multiple errors show up on the dash. I was told it’s dealership, but this is due to a failure of the multipurpose computer in the car. This is the issue that keeps recurring across all their cars of this type that has this unit.

The multipurpose camera is failing intermittently causing 4 major systems to fail.

Front "camera"/sensor went out, this caused all of the errors to come up and ding repeatedly while driving at a high speed on the interstate. Honda says they won't cover however, this is a safety issue with lots of reports of the same issue in a quick Google search.

Multiple safety system error codes began popping up while driving, transmitted, drive gear "D" on dash was flashing and when I pushed the park shift button it went to neutral for a few seconds before going into park, honda is not sure why error codes won't go away after clearing,

5 system warnings starting appearing simultaneously (Adaptive Crusise Control Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High-Beam Problem). This started a few months ago and occurs every time the car is started, and the errors do not go away after driving for several hours. I have checked all appropriate fuses, as well as the car battery and all seem fine. An internet forum search shows this specific issue is widespread with 2018-2020 Honda Odysseys, but is not being addressed satisfactorily by dealers.

These safety features do not function on this vehicle. Issue warning lights when car is started.

My dash displays errors dealing with the Honda sensing. I took it into the dealership and they quoted me 3k to fix it. Upon searching the internet for a solution, this seems to be a common issue with Hondas, dating as far back as 5 years. My errors are the following: -ACC issue -LKAS issue -collision mitigation system -auto high beam problem While some complaints date back to five years, it’s very clear the issue is ongoing in Honda odyssey models, as owners, including myself, are still posting to see if there is a fix. Honda’s resolution is to pay them 3k which I find appalling, since it’s very clear that their models are continuing this issue - along with the fact that it is being reported that owners are experiencing issues still.

Car Randomly started giving a failed warning sign that the LKAS system has an error. Took it to dealer and they say that the radar and the camera need to be replaced for 4000$. This is so completely random. It just broke on its own. Getting the following error messages on 2019 Odyssey: - Brake system lights - Lane keeping assist problem (LKAS); - Auto high-beam problem (A) - Road departure mitigation system problem - Collision mitigation system problem - Adaptive cruise control problem (ACC) - Brake system lights These errors have caused safety issues, especially when someone comes in front of the car randomly or cuts you off. Also, the Brake system lights being on always make you think the brakes will not work when needed. These errors seem to be a known issue with Honda car owners putting drivers at risk and also the passengers.

Warning light turn on without any cause. No accident involve. Just happen overnight.

The front camera is malfunctioning creating the following warnings and preventing safety systems from working properly: 1. Lane Keeping Assist Problem 2. Collision Mitigation System Problem 3. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 4. Auto High-Beam Problem 5. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem In addition, the "Brake Systems" light is on. This issue not only prevents safety features from functioning, but may mask other issues since the "Brake systems" light remains on at all times. The vehicle has recently undergone the recall repair work for the MOST FAKRA Service Cables. No other mechanical issues were detected by the Honda dealership or an independent Honda certified mechanic.

In September 2021, I started occasionally receiving the error message "Collision Mitigation System Problem" on my dashboard. It would appear and quickly disappear. At that time, my car shut itself off when I came to a full stop at traffic lights and stop signs 3 different times. The car would boot back up, but it happened to me in the middle of intersections. I took the vehicle into the dealership and they told me it was the battery. I had the battery replaced, but with time, the "Collision Mitigation System" error reappeared along with other messages, "Engine Management System Problem" and "Road Departure Mitigation Problem." During this time, my car would brake on its own occasionally, happening 6 times in total, when there was no threat of a head-on collision. Three of these incidents happened in the middle of intersections with cars all around me and in one instance, my car come to a screeching halt on its own making me terrified that the car behind me was going to crash into me. The last straw was as I was driving to my child's school and when I came to a curve in the road, my steering locked up completely, not allowing me to turn with the curve. I was able to slam on my brakes and keep myself from crashing, but it was very dangerous. At the same time, the same error messages were flooding my dashboard. That is when I drove my just 3 year old car back into the Honda Dealership and told them they must fix this before I put my child back into that car, and my car still sits there. The dealership informed me that my Collision Assistance Camera that is integral to the Honda Sensing safety mechanisms is "faulty" and will cost me $1,500-$1,700 to repair. I see online that this is being investigated in 2017-2019 Honda CRVs and 2018-2019 Honda Accords sedans. I implore you to also investigate this same system error in 2019 Honda Odysseys. The Odyssey is a family car, but yet I am now scared to drive my family in this vehicle for fear of it causing a collision.
