MY CAR IS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL 10V436000 BUY BACK PROGRAM BUT THE DEALERS AS WELL AS HONDA ITSELF WILL NOT FOLLOW THE NHTSA GUIDE LINES THEY ARE MAKING EXCUSES AND LYING TO ME ABOUT RESPONSIBILITY THIS CAR HAS 111,000 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD LAST A VERY LONG TIME BUT THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN AND THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE ALL OVER BECAUSE OF THE FRAME MOVEMENT . I BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE OTHER RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE BUT HONDA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING .
I WAS TOLD ABOUT A FRAME RECALL ON MY 2000 PASSPORT, I CALLED HONDA DIRECTLY AND ASKED THEM TO END SEND ME 49.00 + TX TO HAVE MY CAR LOOKED AT. I PAID, THEY TELL ME MY CAR DOES FALL UNDER THE RECALL BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS, AND THEY ALSO TELL ME THAT MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. COME TO FIND OUT THE PERSON THAT OWNED MY VEHICLE WAS TOLD BACK IN FEB 2012 THAT THE FRAME WAS BAD, SO THEY TURNED AROUND AND SOLD THE CAR, IT WENT TO AUCTION AND NOT DISCLOSED TO THE PERSON I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM IN MAY 2012. I TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE IT ALIGNED THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT ALIGN THE CAR BECAUSE THE FRAME IN THE FRONT WAS RUSTED AND HAS HOLES IN IT, AND NOW WE HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR FRAME WAS FILLED WITH GRAPE FOAM AND COVERED OVER WITH UNDERCOATING THAT COVERED UP THE HOLES IN THE FRAME. WHAT DO I DO, HONDA WILL NOT BACK THIS VEHICLE OR HONOR THE RECALL. I DO NOT HAVE ALOT OF MONEY AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO JUST PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I WORK FOR A DEALERSHIP IN ITHACA AND WHEN TOYOTA HAD THEIR FRAME RECALLS, PEOPLE WERE PUT INTO RENTAL CARS, AND THE VEHICLES WERE FIXED OR BOUGHT BACK. HONDA DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE!!!!! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA PASSPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE RECEIVED A RECALL IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V436000 (SUSPENSION:REAR). THE CONTACT HAD THE REPAIRS DONE APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR DONE TO ONE SIDE OF THE SUSPENSION DID NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE ANY SAFER AND BELIEVED THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON BOTH SIDES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ENSURED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DONE ACCORDING TO THE SAFETY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 147,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THIRTEEN MONTHS LATER WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SWERVE ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE TRAILING ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWLY DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE PRIOR RECALL REPAIR. THE DRIVER SIDE TRAILING ARM WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 119,550.
AS DRIVING MY PASSPORT I NOTICE SWAYING FEELING ALL OVER THE ROAD AND IT IS VERY LOUD WHEN EVER YOU HIT THE SLIGHTEST BUMP. DRIVING AT A VERY LOW SPEED IS THE ONLY WAY TO DRIVE. THE FRAME IS RUSTED BAD. IT IS FULL OF HOLES AND MISSING PEICES. CURRENTLY AT HONDA DEALER WAITING FOR THE CASE MANAGER TO CONTACT ME AS IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ACCORDING TO HONDA AMERICA. SO FAR OFFERED NO RENTAL OR NOTHING JUST NO CAR. *TT

AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED, THE CONTACT REMOVED BOTH REAR TIRES AND NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME WAS CORRODED AND ROTTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED HE DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT AVOIDED A CRASH AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING RECALL 10V436000 (SUSPENSION: REAR) BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,192.
THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR A 2000 HONDA PASSPORT CAMPAIGN# 10V436000. THE MECHANICS WE TOOK IT TO ORIGINALLY SAID THAT WHAT WAS DESCRIBED UNDER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS RECALL IS WHAT WAS WRONG WITH OUR VEHICLE SO THEY COULDN'T WORK ON IT. THAT WE HAD TO TAKE IT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. WHEN WE DID THIS THEY SAID OUR VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL EVEN THOUGH THAT IS THE EXACT PROBLEM WE ARE EXPERIENCING. THAT IS EXCESSIVE CORROSION MAY RESULT IN THE LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION LOWER LINK BRACKET BECOMING DETACHED FROM THE FRAME, WHICH CAN AFFECT VEHICLE HANDLING AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE A CRASH. MY SON TOLD US ABOUT THE CAR BEING ALL OVER THE ROAD AND THE ORIGINAL MECHANICS THAT LOOKED AT THE CAR SAID THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. THEREFORE I BELIEVE OUR 2000 HONDA PASSPORT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. AT THE MOMENT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO TAKE IT OVER TO THE BODY SHOP TO GET AN ESTIMATE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED, MY SON WAS JUST DRIVING THE CAR FOR HIS JOB AS A DELIVERY DRIVER OF A SUB SHOP. *TR
I OWN A 2000 HONDA PASSPORT THAT HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON IT AND IS IN SUPERB CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE LEFT REAR FRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND NOW MY BEAUTIFUL CAR IS NOW A DEATH TRAP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT HAD ALL FOUR SHOCKS AND STRUTS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 160000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130000.
HAD TO REPLACE REAR END AT A COST OF $1800. VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 55,000 MILES.)AK
THIS VEHICLE IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT IT HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AFTER 5 DAYS AND THEY ARE AGAIN CUPPED.THEY TRIED TO FIX THE ALIGNMENT BUT I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT WITHOUT A CHAMFER SHIM KIT WHCIH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME. THIS MEANS THERE IS FRONT END DAMAGE PER THE MECHANICS I SPOKE WITH. THE HOOD HAD SPOTS WHICH WERE TO BE BUFFED OUT BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT BUFF THEM OUT AND PAINTED IT INSTEAD WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. I NOW DO NOT HAVE A FACTORY PAINT JOB. THE 2 MIRRORS HAD SPOTS WHICH MEANT THAT THE MIRRORS NEADED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO THE DOOR STRIPS AND THE INTERIOR DOOR PIECES HAD TO ALSO BE REPLACED. THE LAST STRAW WAS THE TRUCK LEASKS AT THE BACK WHEN IT WAS WASHED BY ME. I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE VEHICLE OR THE DEALER TO RESOLVE THESE PROBLEMS. *AK
WHEN COMING TO A STOP FRONT FEELS LIKE IT IS SKIPPING ACROSS THE ROAD, AND ALSO PULLLING TO ONE SIDE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
