TAKATA RECALL SRS LIGHT REMAINS ON TWO DAYS AND 50 MILES AFTER DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR WAS MADE, SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. SCREW FOUND IN DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD. RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP TO BE TOLD, THE SENSOR IS BAD AND NOT UNDER THE RECALL OR WARRANTY. $800 TO REPAIR AND NECESSARY TO PASS INSPECTION. IN READING OTHER TAKATA RECALL COMPLAINTS, NOTICED THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS MADE.
I CALLED HONDA PLAZA BKLYN NY IN JULY IN REFERENCE TO THE RECALL LETTER I RECEIVED. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. I CALLED 2 MORE TIMES & WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME. NO ONE EVER CALLED. THEY SAY I'M ON THE LIST BUT WILL NOT TELL ME WHAT # ON THE LIST I AM. ACCORDING TO THE LETTER I RECEIVED THE AIRBAG RECALL SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF WITHIN 60 DAYS. IT IS NOW OVER THE 60 DAYS. I WAS GOING TO GO TO BAY RIDGE HONDA BUT THEY CAN'T PROMISE ME HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE & DON'T OFFER LOANER CARS. THEY HAVE A SHUTTLE BUS BUT IT WILL ONLY GET ME HOME. I STILL NEED A CAR TO GO TO WORK. I LEAVE MY HOME AT 3.30P. TO WORK NIGHTS SO THE SHUTTLE THEY OFFERED WILL NOT HELP ME. I BOUGHT 2 CARS FROM PLAZA HONDA AND ANY TIME I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SERVICE DEPT. AT PLAZA IT'S ALWAYS A PROBLEM BUT NOW IT'S A REALLY BIG PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS TO DO WITH MY SAFETY. I NEED SOMEONE'S HELP TO SEE WHY PLAZA HONDA IS - A. DEALER COMPLETED CAMPAIGNS 14-045 AND 14-046 FRONT AIR BAGS ON NOVEMBER 11, 2014 FOR OUR 2004 HONDA PILOT WHICH IS LOCATED IN FLORIDA. SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED A SECOND AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE NHTSA 14V-700 DATED JANUARY 2015, FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. CALLED DEALER FOR APPOINTMENT, SERVICE MANAGER REPORTS COMPLETION OF THE EARLIER 14-045, 46 IS SUFFICIENT, NOT NECESSARY TO COMPLETE 14V-700. CALLED HONDA AMERICA, SAME RESPONSE. HONDA AMERICA WOULD NOT PROVIDE WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION, RECALL IS STILL SHOWN AS OPEN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. I HAD AIRBAGS RECALL DONE AND THE MECHANICS STATE THE LIGHT IS NOT RELATED NOR DO THEY HAVE RECORD OF THE RECALL REPAIR BEING MADE. BECAUSE IT IS A RED LIGHT, THE SENSOR WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED @ $800 OR IT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. JUST WANTED TO LET PEOPLE KNOW IN THE EVENT THIS HAPPENS TO MORE PEOPLE TOO. JUST STRANGE THE SERVICE TO AIRBAGS CORESPONDS WITH THIS LIGHT. WE ALSO FOUND A SCREW IN DRIVER SIDE FLOORBOARD AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR.

NHTSA RECALL #14V-353 ISSUED ON 19-JUNE-2014, WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THAT DATE MY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHO ROUTINELY PERFORMS MY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE, I WAS ADVISED AT THAT TIME THAT THE PART WAS ON ORDER. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER ONE YEAR AND NO CHANGE IN AVAILABILITY HAS OCCURRED. ON 15-JULY-2015 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA AUTOMOBILE DIVISION IN CALIFORNIA THAT IF AMERICAN HONDA OR MY DEALER HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE "WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME (60 DAYS AFTER THE DATE I FIRST CONTACTED THE DEALER FOR A REPAIR APPOINTMENT), I SHOULD THEN SUBMIT TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. CONSIDERING HONDA HAS CONTINUED TO MANUFACTURE THIS VEHICLE AND SINCE THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A SHORTAGE OF AIRBAGS FOR "NEW" VEHICLES, I FIND IT CONCERNING THAT I AND MANY OTHER LOYAL CONSUMERS SHOULD BE NEEDLESSLY PLACED IN JEOPARDY.

IN EARLY APRIL, 2015 I RECEIVED NOTICE OF AIR BAG RECALL. ON APRIL 8, 2015 I CONTACTED LANCASTER HONDA RE HAVING THE PART REPLACED. I WAS TOLD WITHIN 2 WEEKS THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK. THEY DIDN'T. ABOUT MAY, 2015 I CALLED THEM BACK, THEY APOLOGIZED AND SAID THE PART HADN'T COME IN, BUT SHOULD BE IN BY THE END OF THE MONTH. ON JULY 3,2015 I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA. THEY ALSO APOLOGIZED, BUT STATED THEY HAD BEEN UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE PART, BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF JULY. IT IS NOW AUGUST 3RD, 2015 AND I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM ANYONE. IN MY AREA WE'VE BEEN HAVING UNUSUAL HUMID AND HOT WEATHER WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE MOST DANGEROUS FOR THIS PARTICULAR DEFECT. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE RESOLVED?

I BROUGHT MY 2004 HONDA PILOT TO A AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL AND WITH 2 HOURS THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I TOLD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME MY AIRBAG UNIT HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO REPLACED FOR $800. THE VEHICLE HAD NO AIRBAG ISSUE UNTIL THE TAKADA CANNISTER WAS REPLACED, WHICH I UNDERSTAND THE NEW UNIT IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH THE 2004 AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT. BOTH THE DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA HAVE DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE UNIT AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY HONDA PILOT FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS WITH MY FAMILY WITH NO OPERATIONAL AIRBAG SYSTEM! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNSAFE!

THE DEPLOYMENT EJECTED OBJECTS THAT CAUSED THE CONTACT TO SUSTAIN A BRUISED EYEBROW AND A BLACK EYE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED.
