TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL FROM THE OIL PAN AREA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V063000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,122. *DT *TR *LN 4-17-2019: CALLED HYUNDAI AND SCHEDULED A CHECKUP OF THE VEHICLE AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. A CASE WAS OPENED WITH HYUNDAI REGARDING THIS. 5-17-2019: VEHICLE CHECKED BY DEALER, DEALER MENTIONED WILL SUBMIT THE OIL PAN SEAPAGE TO HYUNDAI FOR NEXT ACTIONS AND WAS TOLD WILL BE GIVEN A CALL BACK. ATTACHING THE FINDINGS FROM THE DEALER. NO RESPONSE FROM HYUNDAI. 11-14-2019: PHOTOS OF OIL PAN LEAK AGAIN SENT BY DEALER TO HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA. HYUNDAI DELCINED TO REPAIR, STATING VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE HYUNDAI RECALL-181 AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY (OIL PAN LEAK FOUND IS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: XXXXXXXXX). ATTACHING THE RESPONSE FROM HYUNDAI. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V063000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (ROUTE 60 HYUNDAI, 8575 20TH ST, VERO BEACH, FL 32966, (772) 569-6004) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER FOR IT TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HYUNDAI GREENFIELD (6133 S 27TH ST, GREENFIELD, WI 53221, (414) 238-2000) WHERE THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST DISPLAYED "INTERNAL ENGINE NOISE SCAN FOR DTC MULTIPLE CODES CAM SHIFT OVER ADVANCED". THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AN OIL CHANGE. AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, A CLUCKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HYUNDAI OF PERRYVILLE (343 N PERRYVILLE RD, ROCKFORD, IL 61107, (815) 229-0089) TO INQUIRE OF OPEN RECALLS AND THE REASON FOR THE CLUCKING NOSIE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS AND THAT THERE WOULD BE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO DIAGNOSIS THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
AT ABOUT 99,000 MILES MY HYUNDAI TUSCON BEGAN MAKING A TICKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE. IT PROGRESSIVELY HAS GOTTEN WORSE. NOW AT 103,000 IT IS MUCH LOUDER AND I'M BEING TOLD IT IS A LIFTER PROBLEM. I'M READING ABOUT RECALLS ON THE 2.0 MOTOR BUT TUSCON NOT INCLUDED WITH THE SANTA FE AND SONATA AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE DEALER (TAMARON HYUNDAI, 1595 MONTGOMERY HY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35216) AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE ENGINE WAS "THROWING A ROD". THE VEHICLE HAD A 2.4 LITER ENGINE AND THE SAME FAILURES OCCURRED IN THE SANTA FE AND SONATA VEHICLES. THERE WAS A CURRENT INVESTIGATION ON THE SANTA FE AND SONATA VEHICLES AND THE CONTACT WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE TUCSON WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
HYDRAULIC TENSIONER FAILING RESULTING IN TIMING SLIP AND CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. OUR CAR HAD STOPPED WORKING WHILE TRAVELLING ON A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBOURHOOD, AND NEEDED A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. UPON INVESTIGATION, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE TIMING BELT TENSIONER FAILED, LIKELY DUE TO LACK OF OIL PRESSURE. THERE WAS OIL IN THE ENGINE AT THE TIME SET AT THE CORRECT LEVEL. WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT THIS SIMILAR MOTOR ON OTHER MODELS HAS HAD A LARGE RECALL. PLUGGAGE COULD HAVE LED TO LACK OF OIL PRESSURE CAUSING IT TO FAIL. LUCKILY NO OTHER DAMAGE OCCURED DURING THIS INCIDENT BUT THIS COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY HIGH CONSEQUENCES IF TRAVELLING ON THE FREEWAY. HYUNDAI HAS SHOWN NO SUPPORT OR RECOGNITION IN THIS ISSUE SO FAR AND IT SHOULD BE REPORTED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI TUCSON. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FORWARD FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT COULD NOT RESTART THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER SENT OUT A DISTRICT MANAGER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE FOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 600.
