2020 Jeep Compass Electrical System

My engine light kept on coming on esc failure I replaced the aux battery then reg battery then alternator went bad then the u connect is not working at all it will not load the maps on the screen it’s doesn’t recognize my phone I bought this jeep brand new

Two recurring issues that happen at the same time. The auto stop/start feature stops working. Error message "Stop/Start Unavailable Service Stop/Start System" is displayed. If this were to happen at a traffic light, the failure to restart the vehicle could cause accidents. At the same time, the door locks become inoperative in one of several ways. They may not unlock by using the in-car button on the door. At the same time, using the key fob may or may not unlock the door. If you are outside of the vehicle, the key fob may not unlock the doors. If you are in the car when it happens, you may be trapped. That is an obvious safety issue. If you are trying to lock or unlock, using the key fob, from outside the car and the door locks are not responding, your safety can be compromised by not being able to enter the car in a dangerous situation. These issues have been confirmed and reproduced by a Jeep dealer on three different occasions in less than two months. They have replaced both car batteries. The door lock assembly has been replaced three times. The Body Control Module has been replaced three times. The latest failure was on 2/2/2025.

Auto start stop unavailable service Auto start /stop system shows up. It has killed 1 main battery and 2 auxiliary batteries but there is no stored messages so dealership can not figure out the problem.

Vehicle states coolant high and check engine light comes on and care will not start.

After a cold start, the car alerted that the coolant temperature was too high and shut off. No issues had occurred before this.

Compass both battery’s died (dealer diagnosis response) while driving down a intersection. No warning what so ever. Auto turned “off” while been “on” and in motion. Started surging while everything inside and out is turning off and on. Thankfully not enough traffic that day no accident happen. No power steering, very hard breaks. Had to get off and push auto into a parking lot. Towed it to the dealer, problem could not be reproduce. Could not give me an explanation of why it happen. A warning lamp had come up regarding a low auxiliary battery a couple months before. That problem was solved at the dealer. This is the second time something battery related thing has happen. Got some videos of it surging and showing it’s on while it’s not.

This vehicle has a stop/start function to shut off when the vehicle stops and then cut back on when you press the gas. Approximately 2 weeks ago my vehicle started stalling out whenever it stops and you have to put it in park and restart the car. Sometimes it starts back up, sometimes it takes a few minutes. This is EVERY time it stops—- red lights, stop signs, intersections and poses a hazard.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and both batteries in vehicle were replaced. On another occasion, the contact turned on the heater in the vehicle; however, there was no heat coming out of the vents. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 32,000.

Electrical issues. Bought this vehicle late February 2022. Radio screen, which controls everything goes from dim to really bright, multiple times on its own. Been to the dealership many times for this problem, continuing to have this problem with no resolution in sight. Can not get dealership to call me back with a resolution at this point. Vehicle is still under warrenty.
