Jeep renegade 2017 fuel pump recall fail. Check engine light on after the recall. diagnostic shows evap leak from the fuel pump assembly. Dealership refuse to hold responsibility of the recall. It has been 5 months already. Tech smells gasoline from the backseat and it is a fire hazard.
Gas pump keeps shutting off every 2 second. It is only 2017 model with 59000 mileage, and I can't even pass the smog check. I feel like I should report this, cause major japanese car never have this kind of problem.
Driving vehicle and lost power. Vehicle will crank, but won’t start
My vehicle runs out of gas at 1/4 display on the fuel gauge. The steering stopped working in my car turns off stating I have 48 miles. It’s extremely dangerous this is happened twice already live on the car for two years.
I should have still had gas in my tank according to my dash. I had just pulled into a parking space at a store and my car just stopped running. Ended up getting it towed and checked over all to find out my car was out of gas. If I was driving and this happened it would not have ended good. No lights popped up on my dash. I showed I had plenty of gas still. Since then I have kept it at half a tank or over and each time I fill up it is taking a different amount of fuel. I have no idea what is happening and I have not had the time or money yet to take this in to figure out what is happening. The Jeep only has 55,564 miles on it and I keep up regular maintenance. I have not had any issues since I bought this in April 2021 until now. I have had an older car in my past do this to me and was almost hit by another car because of it. I do not feel this should be happening to a car with this low of miles. I will be taking the car in soon to get inspected more but figured this should be something I should make you aware of.
JEEP HAS 35000 MILES ON IT AND WHILE DRIVING DOWN CITY STREETS 4 TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS JUST STALLED. ONE TIME IT STALLED STARTING FROM A STOP SIGN. ONE TIME IT STALLED TURNING OFF THE HIGHWAY.
It stalls out of no where, if I am pushing on gas to go it just stalls and then when its really hot outside it doesn't even want to start.
MY CAR STALLED. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO JIFF LUBE TO HAVE IT TOPPED WITH OIL BECAUSE THE OIL CHANGE WAS NOT DUE UNTIL 2000 MORE MILES AND THE OIL WAS VERY VERY LOW.
RECENTLY, AS I WAS DRIVING, VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHENEVER I WOULD HIT MY BRAKES AND ASK ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK (P), CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO RESTART MY CAR. ENGINE WOULD TAKE QUITE A FEW SECONDS TO FIRE/RESTART BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. IT WOULD ALSO VIBRATE QUITE BADLY AND BE UNABLE TO GO ANY HIGHER THAN 40MPH OR 1500RPM UNTIL I RESTARTED MY CAR. IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE AT ALL UNTIL I RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A WEEK.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A 2 LANE CITY ROAD GOING UP A MOUNTAIN IN TUCSON. UPON REACHING THE ALTITUDE OF ABOUT 4000 FEET, MY VEHICLE STARTED TO STALL OUT. EVERYTHING LOCKED UP, BRAKES, STEERING WHEEL, GAS, ETC. AS THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. AT THIS POINT, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF WAITING, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. WE CONTINUED OUR ASCENT UP THE MOUNTAIN, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER. AT THIS POINT, WE CANCELLED OUR PLANS AND WENT BACK DOWN. THERE WERE NO ISSUES GOING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN OR AFTERWARDS. ABOUT A MONTH LATER, WE TRIED IT AGAIN, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, BUT THIS TIME STARTING AT AROUND 3500 FT.
VEHICLE ALERTS OF LOW OIL PRESSURE WHEN COMPLETING A TIGHT TURN OR U-TURN. AFTER A FEW OCCURANCES OF THIS, THE ENGINE TURNED OF WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. I PULLED OVER, CHECKED OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS EXTREMELY LOW. CHANGED THE OIL AND A MONTH LATER THE ALERT REOCCURRED. CHECKED OIL AND IT WAS LOW. ADDED OIL TO KEEP FROM REPEAT STALLING. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY SIMILAR TO THE RECALL OF THE CRACK OIL PUMP HOUSING, NHTSA NUMBER 18V131000.
WHILE DRIVING CAR DID NOT GIVE ANY SIGNS IT WOULD STOP, STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND SO WAS BRAKES AND GAS PEDAL, CAR KEPT SAYING TO PUT IN PARK AND OIL PRESSURE LOW , CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE TURNING IN INTERSECTION IT DID NOT TURN OFF IT JUST WOULDN'T MOVE.
THE JEEP WAS STAIONARY. THE FUEL PUMP WOULDN'T COME OUT OF THE CAR, LEADING TO THE CAR LEAKING GAS EVERYWHERE AND THEN WOULDN'T START. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED THE FUEL FUEL TANK FILLER. A WEEK LATER THE JEEP IS STATIONARY AND THEN WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR IT WOULDN'T START AND HAD A FLASHING LIGHTNING SYMBOL AND THEN GAS STARTED LEAKING EVERYWHERE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE JEEP. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND ONLY HAVE HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS. I FEEL THAT I MIGHT HAVE A LEMON.
DRIVING DOWN I-95 AT A SPEED OF 65 CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN EVEN WHILE IM ACCELERATING, WAS ABLE TO PULL CAR OVER AND ONCE I GOT ON SHOULDER I CUT CAR OFF TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, CAR WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON AT ALL. HAD TO GET TOWED TO THE DEALER WHICH THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP, THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM ONLY FOR THE SAME THING TO BE HAPPENING A MONTH LATER, THE CAR KEEP DOING HARD JERKS AND NOT WANTING TO ACCELERATE. I CAN BE IN DRIVE AND THE CAR WILL TELL ME IM IN PARK OR JUST SHUT OFF ON ME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V731000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE LOCAL DEALER (ROSEVILLE AUTOMALL LOCATED AT 700 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661, (916) 782-5999) HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
VEHICLE TURNED OFF AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND THEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO BEGIN MOVING AGAIN. HAD TO SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK AND ATTEMPT TO START SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STARTED.
A RECALL WITHOUT A REMEDY WAS ISSUED FOR PART OF THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM AND IT CAN SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN IN HIGHER THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. I HAD THIS HAPPEN LAST JUNE (2018) AND THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN OCTOBER. THE ORIGINAL NOTICE SAID IT WOULD BE RESOLVED BY Q4 OF 2018. IT IS NOW APRIL OF 2019 AND I LIVE IN FLORIDA, WHICH MEANS HIGHER THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES EVERY DAY. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN UNDER 5 AND CANNOT RISK THE SAFETY HAZARD OF MY CAR POTENTIALLY SHUTTING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED 5 MONTHS AGO!
MY CAR HAS A RECALL ON IT AND CHYSTER NO LONGER HAVE THE PART NOR KNOW WHEN THEY CAN GET IT I WORRYED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND FEEL IF THEY CAN'T REPLACE IT I ETHIER NEED ANOTHER CAR OR THEY JUST TAKE THIS ONE BACK THE CAR DON'T LAST ON GAS IT'S RUNNING DIFFERENT AND I FEEL ANY LONGER THIS RECALL MIGHT EFFECT SOMETHING ELSE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO PROVIDE THE PART TO RECEIVE AN APPOINTMENT FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOSS OF FUEL PRESSURE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE, AND THE VEHICLE JERKED ABNORMALLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT CONSUMER STATED ACCELERATING CAR STARTED LUNGING FORWARD AND LOSES POWER. VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING AND CATCHING SPEED. *JB
MY RENEGADE HAS STARTED LOOSING FUEL PRESSURE MAKING IT JERK REALLY HARD WHILE DRIVING IT'S BETWEEN THE 3RD AND 4TH GEAR CHANGE IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING THERE IS NO WAY IN THIS NEW OF A VEHICLE IT SHOULD BE DOING THIS IT'S NOT IN CERTAIN CLIMATES ITS IN ANY CLIMATE I REALLY LOVE MY RENEGADE BUT THIS HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING PLEASE HURRY UP AND FIX THIS ISSUE
WHILE DRIVING ON 8/30/19 MY VEHICLE STALLED TWICE AND MADE A WEIRD ELECTRICAL SOUND WHEN TRYING TO START AGAIN . BOTH TIMES I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON THE STREET GETTING READY TO TURN
ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND GAS PEDALS WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AND THE RPM DID NOT INCREASE. PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND EXIT; WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS ONLY. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT.

FUEL GUAGE METER SHOWING WRONG LEVEL. MY GAS IS FULL EVEN THOUGH THE DIGITAL METER SHOWING 1/2.
CONCERNED ABOUT JEEP'S INABILITY TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS WHEN PULLING TRAILER . JEEP RECOMMENDED USING E85 FUEL WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY AREA. VEHICLE UNABLE TO PERFORM AS REPRESENTED.
