This is a follow-up to NHTSA Complaint Number 11684726, submitted to provide additional information after the dealer diagnosis confirmed the defect. My 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara has experienced a complete Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) failure, which has been diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership. The instrument cluster remains blank during vehicle operation and is available for inspection upon request. As a result, I cannot view critical safety information including the speedometer, fuel level, warning lamps, turn signals, and other required driver displays. This creates a significant safety risk, as I am unable to monitor vehicle speed or receive warning indicators while driving. The vehicle has also experienced related electronic failures consistent with network communication disruption, including loss of the center infotainment display, radio failure, and HVAC malfunction with the defroster stuck in full operation and unresponsive to controls. Stellantis has declined repair assistance despite dealer confirmation. This failure mode is consistent with Recall 24V-652, which identifies internal instrument cluster failure resulting in blank displays. However, my VIN is not currently included in the recall population. Given the confirmed failure and safety impact, I respectfully request NHTSA review whether additional VIN ranges, including my vehicle, should be included. My 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is experiencing a complete and permanent failure of the instrument panel cluster, which has gone entirely black. This is the exact safety defect described in Recall 24V-652 (Jeep Recall Code 30B), yet my VIN is currently being excluded from coverage. This is a severe safety hazard as I have suffered a total loss of critical safety information; I cannot see my vehicle speed, fuel level, engine temperature, or any vital warning lights while driving. This defect leaves me unable to monitor the vehicle's operation, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or being stranded, and a local dealership has quoted me thiusands to repair this known manufacturing defect. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate why my vehicle is excluded from this recall despite exhibiting identical hardware failure symptoms.

Dash cluster will go blank upon starting. This has happened every few weeks since I bought it in Nov 2019. Reported to local dealership in ealry 2020, but when you turn off Jeep, the next time it restarts, everything looks fine and they could not reproduce the problem at the dealership and had no answers as they had not seen it before, as no codes were being given. I never went back since i was told they had no answers. When it happens, you are driving blind-No digital speedometer, warning lights or gas gauge when it happens. Now the most recent issue, the security system light comes on randomly upon starting. Also have to push start button more than once to get it to actually start, so this could be different issues. A recall for the cluster finally came out last year i think, but my Jeep was not on the recall list even though it DOES have the problem and has had it for years. Would love some help or guidance!

Unknown, but when I attempted to accelerate onto a highway, and the engine threw the check engine light along with the electric throttle light and the traction control system. The battery was still show 14.3volts, the oil pressure was in range and the temperature of the engine was normal. The vehicle wouldn't go faster than about 20-25mph with out shifting hard and or the RPMs rev high to shift. The mechanic said both batteries are shot and the electric mapping system maybe faulty.

The screen to my jeep is delaminating and is almost unusable. I can't even turn the screen off now and the car will try to make SOS calls and call people from my phone. It will turn on directions automatically. I almost ran over a pedestrian because I was distracted with the screen trying to hang up from a phone call that the car automatically dialed. My [XXX] son just started driving this vehicle and I worry for his safety and the safety around him. If I almost caused a fatal car accident because of this issue with many years of experience, what will happen with a newly driver that can't handle any distractions? After having to have my transmission and clutch system replaced because it all blew up, upon receiving my jeep back afterwards more issues have now arised. Cluster lights all light up, as well as the speed indicator doesn't work. The traction control and sway bar connection go sporadically on and off. The radio shows no signal the back up camera doesn't work, the steering wheel locks up while I'm driving and causes me to have to pull over but I can't pull off to the side because the steering wheel is locked.

Faulty CANBUS connector/CANBUS failure. This issue tends to be a random and inconvenient occurrence which can be difficult to initially diagnose. Causes the jeep to stall, power steering to fail, causes all dash lights to light up and keeps the jeep from start up. Acts as if the part needs to cool down before the jeep will restart. The failure of this part has caused the jeep to stall on the highway at high speeds. Two manufacturer dealers inspected the battery, auxiliary battery, alternator and starter; found no issue with those parts. One dealer said our issue was due to the ABS module; replaced it and it did not fix the issue. Replaced the CANBUS connector and the issue has resolved. This is a known issue among jeeps both new and old and can pose a serious safety risk. To answer the question of how fast the vehicle was going when this issue occurred; the failure of this part happens at both highway speeds and residential speeds. There are currently 52,XXX miles on our jeep and the failure started, roughly, April of 2019. Jeep was purchased, brand new, April of 2018. It started with the jeep failing to start then grew to the jeep entirely stalling out while driving.

The instrument cluster panel on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler shut down in December, 2024, with no advance warning. I purchased my Jeep in March, 2019, and per my dealership, it currently has 38,488 miles. I was told that I would have to bring my Jeep and leave it with them so they could order the part and replace the instrument cluster panel. They advised the repair would be completed by 1/3/2025. When I contacted them on 1/3, I was advised that the instrument cluster was on back order and had no additional information as to when it would be received. I have received no further information from the dealership. However, I found that there was a recall by the FCA US LLC on this part which included 2018 Jeep Wranglers. I called the FCA US LLC Customer Center on 1/7/2025 and after being on hold for 90 minutes, I finally was able to speak with β€œDave” and explain the issue. Although he advised that my Jeep was not recalled, he created my Case #[XXX], and advised the Specialty Department would call me within 1 business day. As of today, 1/10/2025 I still have not received any such call, nor have I heard anything more from the dealership. How am I supposed to get this fixed when nobody is able to help me?! All of our warning lights would come on at once we would lose steering power then it would go dark. We’d have to pull over shut it off then we’d have to wait at least 30 minutes before we could get it back in gear to drive it anywhere. This has happened more than three times. We now have it in a dealership and want to know, I think there was a recall on it in September but we did not get a letter so we want to know how to file the paperwork to get this fixed very disappointed with this we just put 2500 into it for new camshaft and now this is going to cost us around 600. I don’t have the receipts right now to download but I can upload them when I get the copies. Just wondering what help we can get it was very scary when all the power shuts down we were very lucky not to be in an accident

When shifting into reverse, the rear camera feed would not appear on screen. I tried shifting into other gears and back into reverse multiple times, and it did not appear any time the vehicle was in reverse. The gear indicator did show that the vehicle was in reverse. The display for the rear parking sensors did appear on the instrument cluster, but there were no obstacles at the time, so I do not know if the sensors or the rear cross traffic warning were functioning as intended. I did not observe any other warnings or symptoms of a problem. This issue only persisted for one drive cycle. I drove home without the rear camera that day, and the next time the car was started, the rear camera feed was working again. Since it has worked ever since, I have not had anyone inspect the vehicle about this problem. I did not feel that my safety was at risk, and to my knowledge, there were no people nearby exterior to the vehicle when the camera feed was malfunctioning. However, my visibility to the rear was impaired, and had someone been near the rear of the vehicle while I was reversing, their safety would have been at risk.

My car randomly illuminates every light on the dashboard and my speedometer will say zero mph and I lose all power steering and have to put my car into neutral and roll to a stop because my brakes won’t work either. Then I cannot turn off the ignition or accessory. Check engine light is on and my car starts but there are no brakes or power steering. Thankful my kids were not in the car!
