The instrument cluster went out on the vehicle. I cannot see my speed, how much gas, temperature of the coolant, etc... The whole instrument cluster went completely blank.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler has experienced intermittent situatuion of 999,999 appearing as the mileage on the odometer. If it appears, it usually resets to the actual mileage (approximately 58,500) after a short drive. There is an open recall to address this issue for the same year Jeep Wranglers, but doesn’t include my vehicle. I have taken the car into the dealer and had them escalate the issue, but Jeep refuses to address, as it was not part of the recall. Therefore, i am writing to have the criteria for that recall reevaluated, as my car has the issue yet is not a part of the recall. Please see recall - NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 Instrument Panel Failure/FMVSS 101. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

We found cracks in the battery from swelling. We know for certain that the BPCM needs to be replaced. This issue is the same one the NRTA did a recall on for 2020+ Jeep Wrangler models. I had the issue fixed (was un-driveable) and it cost me over $4000. Looking for detail on why 2018 models weren’t considered in the latest recall.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the instrument panel had gone blank while driving at moderate speeds. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); which the contact linked to the failure. The contact searched the VIN on the NHTSA website and discovered that the VIN was not included in the recall. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

The part that failed on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL with 2.0L I4 Turbo or 3.6L V6 eTorque engine is the BPCM: Part Name: Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) Part Number: 05057870 or 68381513AA My dealer advised the the battery was "bloated" and at risk of catching fire & exploding. Under further review, the very SAME part was recalled for 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. [XXX] Mopar advised that my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara with eTorque has a BPCM which is part of the 48V mild hybrid system, which is not installed in all Wranglers — only those with the eTorque system. I believe this setup in my Jeep is the SAME setup as in the 2020-2024 Jeep models which had the recall. There is much evidence of this same issue with the eTorque setup online to reference. I have experienced an Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) display failure, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This failure poses a direct safety risk to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. The display initially flickered and flashed, which created a driving distraction, and now it has gone completely blank. Without the IPC, I cannot monitor the speedometer, fuel level, warning lamps, or other vital vehicle information. I believe this condition violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 101 regarding the accessibility and visibility of required controls and displays, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. The issue has been inspected by an independent service center, which confirmed the failure and encouraged me to contact the manufacturer about a potential recall. There were no warning lamps, error codes, or messages prior to the failure. The first symptoms appeared a couple of months ago when the display began flickering intermittently. Since then, the problem has worsened to the point where the display now rarely turns on at all.

Having issues with the instrument panel cluster. It intermittent flickers and has gone black several times. The issue is the same as recall 30B from Mopar. My VIN is not included in the recall even though it falls under make, model and years affected. I feel that it should be replaced due to safety concerns. This issue has happened 4 times in the last month.

The jeep screen delaminates which will cause 'ghost taps' on the screen. These ghost taps could do anything that can be changed in the vehicle while still or driving. For example, while driving at highway speeds, the rear view camera will activate on the screen causing a major distraction from driving. Additionally, anything else can happen from dailing random phone numbers, calling 911, turning the heat to high or off, changing any setting.....all while driving. Driver distraction is a major cause of accidents and a known delamination issue must be investigated. This is a common issue for certain model years of the jeeps or similar FCA cars.

Service Electronic Throttle, Service Shifter, Service Stop-Start System, Service ESC, Auto Park Disabled, No Bus, Speed Control Messaging Unavailable Service Required, Fluctuating Gauges. I have seen on YouTube how other jeep owners have this same issued a national issued that needs to be address and fix because is very dangerous and loss control on your vehicle while driving is a horrible experience that multiple people are facing.

Within 1 year of getting our Wrangler we experienced issues with the instrument panel short circuit and also the rear camera stopped functioning. I brought it to the dealership and they said it would require hours to repair them and it wasn't covered under warrantee. I've now seen 2 recalls regarding these issues, Short Circuit: [XXX] : [XXX] While I intend to inquire about these and the latter recall is fairly new, i haven't received notice of either. Additionally, in 2022, far within my warranty, the aux battery that restarts the car for the stop/start function, failed to maintain a charge. The car shut off in the middle of an exit ramp on the highway. It was particularly concerning because the engine was stalling anytime I stepped on the brakes. I brought it in for service and Jeep charged me for the entire replacement of the aux battery since it wasn't under warranty. I'm not sure if this is a recurring issue but I wanted to bring it to your attention also. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The instrument panel cluster LED screen occasionally freezes and does not accurately reflect the gear the vehicle is in, speed, etc. Recently the screen froze and continued to display P (indicating vehicle in park) even while the vehicle was shifted to Reverse and Drive. This presents a serious safety risk as the gauge cluster indicates the vehicle is in park when it is in fact in gear. Also, as the display remains on even when the vehicle is turned off the battery may run dead leaving the driver stranded. Our local dealer was unable to get the vehicle to reproduce the issue while in their shop. They advised they were not able to identify an issue. However, we have experienced this issue on 3 separate occasions. This issue was not preceded by any warning lights or audible signals. The issue first occurred at 65,540 miles in the time we have owned it. Unfortunately, I cannot say if this was an issue with the vehicle before we purchased it in July of 2024. We have video evidence of this issue, but the clips are too large to attach here. Please advise if there is somewhere we can email them.

Began receiving hundreds of error codes. The vehicle, while operating, would have the lockers engage, disengage, wouldn't start suddenly, ABS activated, sway bar disengaging, and other things. This represented a tremendous saftey risk for any occupants and was quite frightening. We had it at the dealership several times. We spent $1000 replacing both batteries and all harnesses were checked. The problem improved but never was fully resolved. Now a year after all of that work, we are experiencing more problems again.
