around august of 2025 the gauge cluster went black and i can no longer see my total miles, gas gauge, and any warning lights that may appear on screen i.e. door ajar. because of this, i have almost gotten in car accidents because my gas runs out unknowingly. one time it put me in serious danger on the interstate having to add gas while cars were flying past me. there were no warning lights, check engine lights, or any other lights that would suggest failure. it just went black one day random day. we recently got into a car accident, this occurred after it had gone out and upon inspection the mechanic confirmed it was not associated with the accident and suggested looking into recall because jeep currently has recalls on gauge clusters, which is why i am reporting now. it is available for inspection upon request.
the instrument cluster screen that shows mileage, gas and temperature went blank while i was driving and was a distraction and safety issue.
We have a failed internal cluster on 1c4hjxdn8kw649723 . There was recall vehicle is covered under recall 30B / 24V-652. However, Sternalis will not recall our vehicle. It has been almost 4 months without a cluster. We are not allowed to buy one and Sternalis won't supply one for us to purchase.
Immediate Attention Required – Vehicle Left in Dangerous, Inoperable Condition by Krietz Auto Dealership in Frederick, MD. I am writing with extreme urgency to request your immediate attention and intervention regarding a critical issue involving Krietz Auto Dealership. I have been a loyal customer of Krietz Auto since I purchased my vehicle from them in 2020. Recently, I brought my truck in due to a loud noise coming from under the hood. I was told the rear differential needed to be replaced. To my knowledge, there were no other major issues at the time. After the dealership had my vehicle in their possession for over a month, I was shocked to receive it back in far worse condition. Upon picking up the vehicle, it could not idle without overheating. I attempted to drive home with my young child in the vehicle, only to realize it could not travel over 30 miles per hour without the temperature spiking dangerously high. Tragically, the vehicle has now completely broken down and is no longer drivable. I am being forced to have it towed to another repair shop at my own expense. What was originally a routine service appointment has now escalated into a situation that has left me without transportation and has put the safety of both myself and my child in serious jeopardy. This level of negligence is unacceptable. I trusted Krietz Auto with my vehicle and my family’s safety. I now fear the damage was either worsened or created during the time the vehicle was in their care. I am respectfully requesting that this situation be thoroughly investigated and immediately rectified. This is no longer just a service complaint — it is a matter of public safety and accountability.
We are having continual issues with the visors on our Jeep where both the driver and passenger visors fall out of their mounting brackets. Not only do they impair vision, but the drivers one has caught in the steering wheel and almost caused a crash. Please note this vehicle is used solely for highway use and has never been off road. I spoke with the dealer and they said this is a known issue and recommended I purchase 3rd party aftermarket clips on Amazon or alternatively they could replace the whole assembly for a significant fee.
Sun visors on driver and passage side pop off while driving. They are not held in position due to faulty parts and cause a hazard while driving because they swing uncontrollably while in motion. Not safe. Dealership has not helped with this hazard. Ive researched and this is a wider issue with other jeep owners all experienced the same driving hazard.
I have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, which is part of a recall for what is known as the 'Death Wobble', meaning that when driving over the smallest bump at highway speeds (~60mph), the vehicle begins to shake uncontrollably. This is a known recall and we had it fixed through the recall. After the fix at the dealer, the same death wobble problem persists again. The dealer/manufacturer is not solving the root cause, but rather putting a temporary fix on the issue. Very unsafe
It is the same thing as th 30B recall I can send a picture
My Jeep just died in the middle of the on ramp to the freeway. We had to push it off to the side of the road. The lights all worked, the horn worked, the door locks worked and the radio worked. We tried jumping both batteries and it would not start and the dash would not come on at all. We had it towed to the dealership and they have had it for over 3 weeks and cannot find what is wrong with it. They thought it was the ECU but they said none of the modules are communicating in the vehicle. So they thought it may have a short so they started chasing wires. They still haven't found the culprit and my extended warranty is up in September. It only has 16,000 miles on it.
While driving my jeep wrangler went limped windshield wipers came on and every light on the dashboard was lit up . I couldn't brake or press the gas while driving on the highway with other cars. I had to coast to the side of the highway and just pushed to turn off and shift to park . Jeep was towed to the dealership the next available appointment , at the end of March . Wire harness wires were replaced and drove it 4 days and the same issue happened again while I was driving. I am very unhappy that I can't drive my jeep wrangler because I have babies that I worry the issue may happen again and we have a serious accident that would hurt all of us .
While driving with the sun visor down it became detached from the hinge and swung and hit my face causing distracted driving. It continues to hang due to the defect and is obstructing vision of the windshield for safe driving. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. This is a safety hazard and an obvious defect with the part mounting the visor to the vehicle. I called the dealership and they confirmed this was a known issue with newer Jeep Wranglers and that the entire visor could be replaced for several hundred dollars at my expense. The visor itself is not the issue, it is how it is secured to the vehicle that is the problem. It appears as though it has detached itself from whatever was securing it safely to the vehicle. There were no warning signs or any issue with the visor prior to it releasing itself and swinging freely causing distraction to driving and possibly bodily injury. When spoken to, the dealership confirmed this is a known issue with the way the newer visors are designed in new Jeep Wranglers. Upon conducting online research, this issue is common and others are experiencing it as well. In a potential accident or general driving this visor could detach itself and be propelled possibly injuring the driver and passengers. This safety related defect needs to be recalled and fixed immediately and not at the owners expense.
I purchased this new 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in late December of 2019. Approximately two years into ownership, rust began to appear along the frame welds. Roughly 2.75 years into ownership, this corrosion began to become very noticeable throughout the frame welds located underneath the vehicle. Many welds also feature small holes. In September of 2022 (33 months into ownership), I began to investigate the issue. I spoke with a local dealership and Jeep Customer Care via email, phone and in-person (I can produce the correspondence if needed). I was told by the dealership that I had 25 months left on corrosion warranty, but that it did not cover corrosion to the frame or suspension. I was also told that the holes are not an issue. I also contacted Jeep Customer Care several times (with photos) and received very little assistance. Jeep Customer Care also stated 25 months left on corrosion warranty, but that a dealership must diagnosis and state that it is a covered issue. Jeep refuses to further address the issue until the dealership does. The dealership has stated they will not, no matter how much I mention this appears to be a significant (and unsafe) defect. The dealership has since stopped communicating. A local body shop (unaffiliated with Jeep), upon inspecting the vehicle, stated that this Jeep should not be in this state of disrepair so early into its life. This vehicle does not feel safe given the severity and location of the corrosion/deterioration throughout the frame and suspension.
The driver side visor falls and the electrical components goes out on the mirror and garage opener. The mirror swings while driving on the freeway. Very hazardous trying to clip while driving, needs to be recalled.
I was notified of a recall for my 2019 Jeep wrangler unlimited Sahara back in 02-2023. This is a recall wherein my clutch could become overheated and lead the pressure plate to rapidly fracture which could lead to a fire and cause injuries. To date, there is no remedy. This is recall number 23V-116 and manufacturer recall 19A. I have emailed them without response other then they would contact me in a few days.... My concern is growing as they dont seem to be taking this very serious and exactly what am i supposed to drive? If i drive the car, i put myself and others at risk. I have asked for a rental car until they come up with a fix. My pleas have gone unanswered. in any case, i believe that this recall should be addressed promptly.
while driving-sun visor on drivers side failed and immediately fell in middle of my view. Could have caused an accident. The jeep windshield is small and narrow to begin with and having a large portion suddenly blocked by a falling visor is a major issue.
While driving the visor above both the driver side and passenger side falls down from where it is supposed to be. The mechanism that holds the visor in place is defective and falls out of the hole where it is supposed to connect to. The mechanism is still in tact so the visor falls enough to obstruct the drivers view but does not fall out. This almost caused me to crash while on the highway yesterday. I have confirmed with multiple other drivers of the 2019 JLU that this also happens to them.
While driving on the highway, my car began to shake. Upon inspection of the dash and its components, no warning lights appeared and nothing was triggered to state that there was a flat or anything was wrong with the vehicle. I had to lower my speed from 70mph down to 50mph as I went to merge right to get onto the shoulder and/or exit to a safe location in case I had a flat. Upon slowing to 50mph the shaking stopped and I was able to drive normally. I proceeded to drive for a few more miles due to the issue seemingly resolving itself. As the vehicle reached speeds of 70+ mph it began to shake again. This time I managed to pull off onto the shoulder and inspected the car in case there was a flat and/or something caught onto the axel. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary and the vehicle drove normally, without issue from that point on. The shaking lasted anywhere from 20-30 seconds while traveling at highway speeds.
The windshield design for 2018-2019 Jeep Wranglers was changed compare to those prior. This change made the windshield almost upright with little slant. This design is a major flaw that they don't want to admit to consumers although when visiting the dealership or talking with them on the phone they say that this is the issue but it isn't their problem. Because of this design it is prone to constant chips even ones that you cannot see. These chips, even little surface ones you can't see but can feel cause the windshield to crack when it gets really cold outside. I had this happen 4 times in 2 years! I am 42 years old and have never had to use my car insurance until getting this Jeep. Now my insurance company wants to drop me and no one else wants to insure me. I know other Jeep owners have this same problem and it is a major flaw in the design that is causing many issues that not only affect our livelihood but our safety. I am listed one month of a cracking but as stated it has happened 4 times and it was parked and not moving each time, thankfully.
It takes a considerable amount of time for the back up camera to turn off once the transmission is switched from reverse to drive The camera is still displaying the rear view of the vehicle as the vehicle is moving forward which has the potential to cause a serious impact This happens on a consistent basis and is not an isolated incident
The Uconnect Radio keeps freezing and restarting all the time. This is troublesome when you cannot use your backup camera or your navigation system. It is a distraction to the driver. You cannot turn down the volume, change the temperature or anything else during this freeze and rebooting.
WHEN I DRIVE IN THE HIGHWAY THE CAR STARTS SHAKING LIKE IF IAM LOOSING CONTROL THIS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAPPENS I THOUGHT I HAD FLAT TIRES
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS SINCE BUYING THE JEEP A MONTH AGO, WE CAN BE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE COLLISION ALERT SOUNDS AND THE VEHICLE SLAMS ON THE BRAKES AND THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF YOU. THIS HAPPENED TODAY WHILE MY WIFE WAS STARTING FROM A STOPLIGHT WITH NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF HER AND THEN IT ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND ALMOST CAUSED HER TO BE REARENDED. ON THE OTHER TIMES I WAS DRIVING USUALLY AROUND 45-55 MILS PER HOUR AND IT AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES AND SLAMS ON THE BRAKES EVEN THOUGH NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF YOU.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BROKE 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING, IT WAS REPLACED, NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE VISOR HAS BROKEN TOO. IT IS THE JOINT THAT HOLDS IT TO THE CEILING. THE DEALER IS STATING THAT I BROKE IT INTENTIONALLY, ALL MY WIFE DID WAS PULL IT DOWN TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND IT BROKE.. THIS IS A VERY POOR DESIGN. I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
UNABLE TO DISABLE SIRIUSXM TRAVEL LINK WEATHER ALERTS. THEY BLOCK THE WHOLE SCREEN AND DISTRACT THE DRIVER BECAUSE THEY FORCE THEM TO MAKE A RESPONSE. SOME MANUFACTURERS WITH XM ALLOW ALERTS TO BE DISABLED, BUT FCA DOESN'T. THESE ALERTS ARE OFTEN IRRELEVANT- I'VE SEEN SOME FOR AREAS OVER 100 MILES AWAY. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE, AND FOUND THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON SAFETY COMPLAINT FOR FCA VEHICLE OWNERS.
11/12/2019 2:30 PM DRIVING IN THE FAR LEFT LANE OF 400 NORTH NEAR EXIT 13, THE FAR LEFT LANE HAS DIPS. FIRST DIP CAUSES CAR TO GO INTO A VIOLENT SHAKE. WAS GOING ABOUT 60 MPH. OTHER CARS AROUND ME STARTED TO MOVE INTO DIFFERENT LANES AWAY FROM THE CAR. MY INITIAL THOUGHT WAS A FLAT TIRE. I PULLED INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AT A FULL STOP. THE TIRES WERE FINE. STARTED DRIVING AGAIN AND CAR WAS NORMAL. 11/15/2019 1:45 PM SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 400 NORTH THIS TIME THE WOBBLING WAS MORE VIOLENT. WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. CAR IS CURRENTLY WITH THE DEALER AND I AM UNAWARE WHEN I WILL GET THE CAR BACK.
