AFTER DRIVING THE KIA FOR ABOUT ONE MONTH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EMIT A ROTTEN EGG SMELL, SERVICE MANAGER EXPLANATION WAS THAT VEHICLE NEEDED "BREAKING IN", LATER OWNER WAS TOLD THAT THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM USING CHEAP FUEL, VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON BECAUSE OF LEFT OVER FUEL IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER, NOT SURE WHY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE STALLED. *CJ

OIL PUMP MALFUNCTIONED ,CAUSING ENGINE TO BLOW. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE ENGINE. ALSO, CAMSHAFT/PULLEY SEPARATED FROM VEHICLE, CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE.*AK

THE CAR STALLS BETWEEN 60 AND 75 MPH. I LOSE 10 TO 15 MPH AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED TWICE! NO ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, WARRANTY PART REPLACED TWICE, DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T CARE IF I DIED IN THE CAR!
I HAVE A 1999 KIA SPORTAGE WHICH HAS A CONVERTIBLE TOP ON THE BACK PART. WHEN THE INSIDE AIR FLOW BUTTON IS ON IT CAUSES THE TOP TO FLAP SO HARD THAT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE. IT ALSO SO CAUSE SUCH A VIBRATION THAT IT HURTS YOUR EARS . BUT YOU DONOT ALWAYS HAVE TO HAVE THE INSIDE AIR FLOW ON FOR THIS HAPPEN. WHEN YOU GET UP TO ABOUT 65 OR 70 IT WILL DO IT ANY WAY. THERE IS KNOW WAY YOU CAN TRAVEL AT ALL WITH THE INSIDE AIR FLOW BUTTON IN UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO CRAZY. PLUS THE SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE IS ALSO A NIGHTMARE I DO BELIVE IT COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO LOSE CONTROL . I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT IT BEFORE THEY TRIED TO ACT AS IF THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. BUT TODAY I TOOK IT IN AND THEY ADMITED THEIR HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS. THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE TOP BUT I DONOT THINK THE DEALER EVEN THINKS THIS WILL WORK. *AK

VEHICLE HAS CONTINUED TO STALL AFTER HAVING RECALL 99V325000 REPAIRS WORK DONE. VEHICLE WAS JUST REPAIRED AGAIN & STALLED A FEW DAYS LATER. DEALER DOESN'T KNOW WHY PROBLEM CAN'T BE RESOLVED. *AK *ML

AUTOMOBILE HAS BEEN STALLING EVER SINCE CONSUMER HAS HAD THE AUTOMOBILE. MECHANIC KEEPS SAYING THAT THEY ARE FIXING THE PROBLEM, BUT IT DOES NOT STOP VEHICLE FROM STALLING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALER REPEATEDLY FOR THIS PROBLEM AS WELL AS OTHERS (AIR FLOW WIRING, AIR CONDITIONING, OIL LEAK, DOME LIGHT, TURN SIGNAL, THERMOSTAT) *AK *ML
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE CONCERNING THE ENGINE STALLING. CONTACTED THE DEALER. NO AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT UNTIL JUNE 13, 2000. PLEASE GIVE AND FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, CONSUMER TRIED TO KEEP CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL OFF THE ROAD. *AK
MANUFACTURER CLAIMED THAT BEFORE DRIVING CONSUMER HAD TO WARM UP THE VEHICLE FOR FEW MINUTES TO AVOID PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION. NO OSAFETY ISSUE. *AK
ENGINE STALLS RANDOMLY WITHOUT WARNING, FROM A STOP TO NORMAL FREEWAY SPEEDS. TOOK IT IN 5 TIMES STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. SHOCKS RATTLE WITH EVERY BUMP JUST LIKE A 15 YEAR OLD CAR. BATTERY GOES DEAD WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CAR.
