TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT DISPLAY THE PROPER FUEL LEVEL. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS FAILING. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. FAULTY FUEL GAUGE. SHOWS EMPTY AND LOW FUEL LIGHT ON WHEN IT IS REALLY A FULL TANK. THIS STARTED OFF SLOWLY AND GRADUALLY. IT WOULD WORK WHEN I FIRST FILLED IT UP AND THEN ABOUT HALF A TANK IT WOULD STOP WORKING RIGHT. THEN IT JUST COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING AT ALL AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME NOW. I HAVE TO WRITE DOWN MY MILEAGE AND TRY TO GET GAS EVERY 300 OR SO MILES, VERY MUCH ANNOYING! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY ALTHOUGH IT WAS FULL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IN 2008 UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER FUEL LEVEL SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, DIAGNOSTICS DONE AFTER ON GOING PROBLEM AND CALLED NISSAN AFTER NISSAN SENT OUT EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I CANNOT USE AS IT WILL NOT COVER MY TRUCK FOR REPLACING THIS PART. (OVER $72K MILEAGE BUT UNDER 72 MONTH) THEY ADMITTED IN THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SOME PATHFINDERS. I CALLED ABOUT THIS ISSUE BACK IN MAY OF 2010 ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I CAN PAY FOR THIS REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART AND IF THERE IS A RECALL I CAN SUBMIT MY INVOICE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. RECENTLY WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BECAUSE I AM OVER THE MILEAGE AND I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS, I WAS PASSED OFF TO CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS IF IT IN FACT DID COME BACK THAT IT IS THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. SO, $128.00 LATER I WAS TOLD I WOULD NOT BE REIMBURSED FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS AND THEY WOULD ONLY PAY $250.00(THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE LABOR AT WHICH I AM EXPECTED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET) OF ABOUT A $600.00 REPLACEMENT OF A BAD PART! I HAVE BEEN WRITING MY GAS MILEAGE DOWN FOR 58 WEEKS NOW, AS THIS PROBLEM STARTED AT 71086 MILES. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CONSUMER REP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT WASN'T DIAGNOSED 58 WEEKS AGO THEY WILL ONLY PAY $250.00, EVEN THOUGH THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN THE SAME PROBLEM FOR 58 WEEKS, NO MATTER IF THE DIAGNOSTICS WAS DONE THEN OR NOW. THERE IS QUITE A FORUM ON EDMOND'S.COM FOR THIS ISSUE AS THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND EVEN THOUGH THE PART NUMBER FOR THIS FUEL SENDING UNIT IS THE SAME AS THE 06 PATHFINDERS- NISSAN WILL NOT RECALL THE 05'S AND FIX THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY DID RECALL 06'S. *TR
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON FUEL LEVEL SENSORS FOR A FEW OF THE NISSAN CARS AND TRUCKS. UNFORTUNATELY MY 2005 PATHFINDER IS NOT COVERED... MY SES LIGHT IS ON AND I CAN'T PASS THE EMISSIONS TEST TO GET MY TAGS RENEWED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH NISSAN ON THIS PARTICULAR PART. I CONSTANTLY SHOW EMPTY AND HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS ON OCCASION. I JUST PAID 125 DOLLARS FOR NISSAN TO TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND THAT IT WOULD COST 700 TO FIX IT. I WOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM FIXING IT, IF THERE WASN'T THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS A PROBLEM AND NISSAN NEEDS TO STAND UP AND MAKE IT RIGHT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT OBSERVED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE READING, AS A RESULT OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY, AND THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THE FUEL LEVEL WAS 'FULL'. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ERRATIC. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
DETAILS: VEHICLES FUEL SYSTEM IS FAULTY. I NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY AFTER HAVING A FULL TANK OF GAS, ADDITIONALLY THE DIGITAL "DISTANCE TO EMPTY" DISPLAY DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. AT TIMES THE LOW GAS INDICATOR WILL BE DISPLAYED EVEN AFTER I FILLED THE TANK UP. I HAVE BEEN IN TWO DIFFERENT SITUATIONS WHERE I RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY THINKING THAT I HAD ENOUGH GAS FOR MY JOURNEY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. NISSAN REPLACED THE PARTS ON 2006 & 2007 VEHICLES BUT REFUSE TO REPLACE MY 2005 DEVICE QUOTING THAT IT HAS HIGH MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD REPAIRED FOR $500. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER, AS I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CAR JUST DIED AND THE SAME ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME! THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WOULD NOT READ THE ACCURATE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE UNTIL FIFTY MILES LATER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD A BAD FUEL SENSOR. UPON CALLING THE DEALER,THEY GAVE ME THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS NUMBER TO CALL STATING THAT ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE WASN'T RECALLED FOR IT THEY FIXED OTHERS WITH NISSAN COVERING THE EXPENSE. WHEN I CALLED I WAS TOLD I HAD TO GET IT REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP TO POSSIBLY BE REIMBURSED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS MADE. I DID WHAT THEY SAID AND THEY REFUSED MY CLAIM STATING IT DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. I PAID TWICE THE AMOUNT AT THE DEALER THEN I WOULD HAVE AT A REGULAR MECHANIC.THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS SO SURE IT WOULD BE COVERED AS HE HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE NOT ON THE RECALL LIST AND THEY APPROVED THAT TRUCK! THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST WAS SNIPPY AND WOULD NOT LET ME SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR. I'M DISGUSTED AND ASKING THAT YOU CHECK INTO THE INTEGRITY AS A COMPANY. DO THEY LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE YOU MIGHT GET HELP JUST SO YOU GO TO THEIR SERVICE? I HATE NISSAN AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER! *TR

THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A HALF TANK OF GASOLINE AND THE ACTUAL FUEL IN THE VEHICLE COULD BE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER. THE CONTACT NOTICED A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM BUT DUE TO THE YEAR OF THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE A REMEDY REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD OPEN THE RECALL TO LATER MODELS SINCE THE PARTS WERE THE SAME IN THE MODELS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE ODOMETER DISPLAYED INCORRECT READINGS. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT NOTICED NO FAILURES SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SHE FELT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WANTED TO REPORT THAT THE OTHER VEHICLES WERE NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STORAGE AUXILIARY TANK) ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,014. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,440.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER'S EVERYWHERE HAVE A FUEL SENSOR ISSUE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND I COULD FEEL THE TRUCK STRUGGLE. I WENT TO AUTO ZONE TO GET THIS CHECKED AND THEY STATED THAT THIS IS DUE TO THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. WHEN PUTTING GAS SOMETIMES THIS SHOWS EMPTY AND SOMETIME SHOWS FULL. IF THE GAS WERE TO RUN OUT I COULD HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND MY CHILDREN CAN BE SERIOUSLY HURT. THIS IS VERY COSTLY AND CAN RUN 300-400 DOLLARS THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ASAP. *TR

RECENTLY THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE 2006 AND 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDERS ABOUT HOW THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELLS CAN DEFORM, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO NUMBER TIMES EXCEPT I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER, WHICH HAS THE SAME IDENTICAL PART IN THE 2006. THIS HAPPENS TO ME EVERYTIME WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE REACHES A LITTLE BELOW THE HALF WAY MARK. IT READS IT HAS ABOUT 100 SOME OFF MILES UNTIL EMPTY. WHEN I GET UP FOR WORK IN THE MORNING THE AND START THE VEHICLE THE FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE GOES BELOW EMPTY AND THE FUEL GAUGE LITES UP. I FEEL SINCE THE 2006 AND 2008 HAS BEEN RECALLED AND ITS HAPPENING TO MY 2005 MODEL ALSO, THAT IT NEEDS TO BE PUT ON THE RECALL LIST. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER & EXPERIENCING THE SAME FUEL SENSOR ISSUES THE RECALL IS ADDRESSING BUT STARTING WITH 2006 MODELS. THIS JUST STARTED AROUND 80K A MONTH AGO, BUT NOW IS UNSAFE FOR TO DRIVE ALONE AT NIGHT WITH MY INFANT CHILD. THE "DTE" FIRST STARTED FLASHING AROUND 100 MILE DTE.....THEN THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON FOR GOOD. NOW, I FILL UP AND THE GAUGE DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL AND ALWAYS HAS A WARNING LIGHT ON. HOW I AM SUPPOSED TO TELL HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE? THIS IS A $500 FIX THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR, ESPECIALLY SINCE MY 2005 MODEL IS THE EXACT SAME VEHICLE AS THE 2006 THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
