This is.my 2nd time replacing it the oil is mixing with the anti freeze because the radiator has a hole in it another recall problem for nissan
Contamination from the radiator mixed with the transmission cooler. The car is now inoperable due to this design flaw. This causes the transmission to be extremely sluggish and unresponsive when run, oftentimes the engine won't start or crank due to a blown fuse related to this issue. The slow acceleration causes safety issues when pulling out into traffic. The vehicle was inspected by a licensed Illinois auto rebuilder. The four-wheel-drive indicator is stuck to on although the vehicle is in two-wheel drive and service engine light appeared.

MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND WAS REPLACED TWICE IN 2017. I BROUGHT TO THE NISSAN AUTHORIZED DEALER FIRST FOR A THUMBING SOUND WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL AFTER TAKING THE FOOT OFF. WHEN IT WORSENED THEY SAID IT WAS THE CALIPERS AND CHANGED MY CALIPERS FOR $2000. BUT THE THUMBING SOUND PERSISTED. AFTER A FEW MONTHS THEY SAID IT WAS TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THEY CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE. THE THUMBING SOUND PERSISTED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ABOVE 40 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE SOUND GOT WORSE. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND BROKEN METAL PIECES IN THE REAL AXLE BOX. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT HELP SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL. I SEE SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED BY CONSUMERS IN THE INTERNET. NOW I HAVE TO PAY $3000 TO REPLACE THE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY ACCORDING TO THE QUOTE GIVEN BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR PARTS AND LABOR. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED DURING THE WARRANTY TIME AND NISSAN DEALERSHIP COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT. NOT THEY SAY THE WARRANTY WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. HAVING THE GEAR BOX BROKEN IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD BUT NOW NISSAN REJECTS TO CORRECT IT.
THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTING HARD.THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAYS MY TRANSMISSION COOLER FAILED, CAUSING MY COOLANT AND RADIATOR FLUID TO MIX. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, AND RADIATOR.
WHEN THE CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE OR PARK THE GEAR CHANGE STARTED TO BECOME DELAYED AND ROUGH THIS LATER PROGRESSED TO A LACK OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. THESE PROBLEMS HINTED TO THERE BEING A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. TOOK IT INTO A SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COOLANT WAS MIXING IN WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID THEREFORE DAMAGING BOTH THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION.

ENGINE CHAIN STARTED MAKING HUMMING/WHIRRING SOUNDS SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF MILES AGO -- I DON'T RECALL THE EXACT DATE. I HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS FILED IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE UNTIL I RECENTLY RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE. NISSAN FAILED TO INFORM ME OF THIS ISSUE.
RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION, CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME BECAUSE I AM OVER 100,000 MILES THERE IS NO COVERAGE AND WILL COST ME UPTO 8,000. MY CURRENT MILEAGE AT DIAGNOSTIC WAS 104,000 MILES. MY PATHFINDER IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND HAS A LOT OF DRIVING LEFT IN IT. I FEEL LET DOWN BY NISSAN THAT THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND WILL NOT STAND BY THE FAULT TO KEEP CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND SATISFACTION. I DO NOT TRUST NISSAN AND NEVER WILL AGAIN, THEY HAVE PROVEN TO ME THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I AM IN A POSITION AS A SINGLE MOTHER WITH 3 KIDS THAT I CANNOT AFFORD 8,000 DOLLARS TO FIX THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE PREPARED TO DO NOTHING.......
OUR 2008 PATHFINDER LOST ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, CAUSING OTHERS CARS TO SWERVE TO MISS HITTING US. AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS WE WERE ABLE TO REGAIN A LITTLE BIT OF SPEED ( ABOUT 30 MPH) TO BE ABLE TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY AND HEAD DOWN AN EXIT RAMP. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS VERY SCARY FOR MY FAMILY AND I WITH TWO YOUNG KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT, WITH CARS PASSING US AT SPEEDS UPWARD OF 70 MPH. EVEN ON THE WAY HOME THAT NIGHT, THE SUV WOULD START TO DRIVE AT NORMAL SPEED, THEN SUDDENLY COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP AT ABOUT 5 MPH.
SAME AS MANY BOUGHT 2008 PATHFINDER HAD 65,000 MILES ONE YEAR AGO IN ROANOKE VA,STARTED MISSING ,WHEN CHECKING RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FLUID WERE WERE CREAM LIKE COLOR,PAID 104 DOLLARS AT MAINTENANCE GARAGE TO FIND PROBLEM OF CRACKED IN RADIATOR PART CAUSING TO MIX.NOW NEED NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH MY COMPARTMENT IS 3000 DOLLARS,WHICH IS RIDICULOUS SINCE THIS IS EVIDENTLY A COMMON FAILURE WHICH I WAS NOT INFORMED OF.WHEN SPOKE WITH NISSAN STATED THIS IS ALL COURT ORDERED THEM TO DO ...SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE..I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY,STILL OWE ON THIS VEHICLE THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A DEPENDABLE CAR,HAVE EXTENDED INSURANCE WON'T PAY CAUSE OF NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY...THINK THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL AND CONSUMER NOTIFIED THIS IS A MAJOR CAR ISSUE AND EXPENSE....NISSAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED DOING THERE CONSUMERS THAT WAY..PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD..
IN ABOUT JANUARY OF THIS YEAR 2016 I NOTICED A VIBRATION DURING GEARSHIFTING WHILE DRIVING. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC BECAUSE WHEN I EXPLAINED THE ISSUE TO NISSAN THEY SAID OUT OF WARRANTY AND ALL PARTS AND LABOR WOULD NOT BE COVERED SO I WENT TO MY MECHANIC ANYWAY WHO SAID I HAD TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR WHICH I BELIEVE IS A DESIGN FLAW ON THE CAR. IF NISSAN KNEW ABOUT A RADIATOR ISSUE WHY WAS I NEVER INFORMED SO I COULD POTENTIALLY REPLACE THE RADIATOR BEFORE IT DESTROYED MY TRANSMISSION? I AM SEEKING FULL REIMBURSEMENT ON ALL PARTS AND LABOR IN THE TRANSMISSION. I UNDERSTAND I MAY HAVE TO PAY SOME OF THE COST OF THE RADIATOR DUE TO WARE AND TARE BUT IF NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS THEY SHOULD'VE CONTACTED ME TO SAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I BELIEVE THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE HAD I NOT KNOWN EVEN WHY THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING I DID HAVE A PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING AND NOT KNOWING WHAT THIS IS. RADIATOR STARTED LEAKING AND RUINED MY TRANSMISSION AT 92,000 MILES
TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR ARE BROKEN CAUSING MIXTURE OF FLUID CAUSE VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. A KNOWN DEFECT OF NISSAN PATHFINDER 08, THE VEHICLE WAS OVER 140K MILE, THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS BUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PERTAIN TO THIS ISSUE.

I WAS INFORMED BY THE NISSAN DEALER THAT I NEED A NEW TIMING CHAIN. THIS REPAIR WILL COST ME 2300.00. I THEN DID RESEARCH ABOUT MY VEHICLE, AND SAW THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. ALSO THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE COOLANT AND THE ENGINE WAS EXHIBITING A LOUD RUMBLING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,162.
THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WENT OUT. NISSAN STATED IT WOULD COST 1000.00 FOR THE PART AND 500.00 LABOR. I HAVE HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2010. I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE GAS GAUGE 3 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. IT WAS BURNING OIL AND I HAD TO PAY 380.00 TO FIX THAT. THE TIRE SENSOR HAS BEEN OUT FOR 1 YEAR. NOW THIS ABOUT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CAR. I FEEL I HAVE BEEN SCREWED AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CAR THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE FIXED. *TR
