TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS LATER, IT APPEARED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A NEW TRANSMISSION VERSUS REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 190,000.
STOP FOR GROCERIES AND WHEN I GET BACK IN THE CAR I FELT THE RIDE KIND A FUNNY, I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR WITH NO RESPONSE, CAR DIDNT GO MORE THAN 30 MILES AN HOUR, TOOK ME 1 HOUR TO GET BACK BECAUSE I COULDT GET IN THE HIGHWAY HAD TO DRIVE IN LOCAL STREETS
1. FAILURE TO ACCELERATE AND SHAKING/STALLING LIKE BEHAVIOR. WHILE ENTERING INTERSECTION, CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND CONTINUED TO FAIL TO ACCELERATE AS I DROVE THE CAR THE TWO MILES TO WORK. I THOUGHT MAYBE I DIDN'T STEP ON THE ACC. ALL THE WAY THE FIRST TIME I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A CAR, BUT REALIZED IT CONTINUED TO CRAWL ALONG UNTIL I GOT TO SPEEDS OVER 20MPH. I WAS ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES (A MINIMUM OF THREE TO INCLUDE T BONED AND REAR END TYPE COLLISIONS DURING THE TWO MILE DRIVE). GOT CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME THAT IT WAS NOT THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT WAS A FAULTY SENSOR SWITCH THAT TOLD THE CAR I WAS BRAKING ALTHOUGH I WAS ACCELERATING. DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO RETURN CAR TO ME UNTIL I HAD SENSOR REPLACED DUE TO SAFETY HAZARD. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OF THESE ISSUES. ADDITIONALLY, SEVERAL OF THESE ISSUES EXIST NATIONWIDE AS NOTED BY NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS. 121000MILES. DISCUSSED IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, NISSAN WAS GOING TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP WITH COSTS SINCE IT WAS RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 120K MILES FOR KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUE (WHICH I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF). NISSAN DEEMED IT WAS NOT THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER, COULD NOT SAY WHAT CAUSED THE SHAKING. 2. CAR STILL STUTTERED, BUT THE DRAG WAS GONE AFTER REPLACING SENSOR FOR TWO MONTHS. DRAG IS BACK AND CAR STILL SHUTTERS. WAS TOLD BY A DIFFERENT PLACE THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS SHOT. 124700 MILES. IT SHUTTERS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL IN TRAFFIC WHEN SLOWING DOWN, IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, AND A LOWER SPEEDS.
LOOSES POWER AND SLOWS IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC. IF I HAD KNOWN I COULD SEND MY COMPLAINT TO YOU, I WOULD HAVE DONE SO A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHEN I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO NISSAN USA . WHAT A JOKE THIS AUTO IS! AND WHAT A JOKE NISSAN IS!
I BOUGHT THE CAR USED, TO GET TO WORK AND THE MANY DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT THAT I CURRENTLY HAVE (I AM BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR WITH A LOT OF SIDE EFFECTS). WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING LOCALLY WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DIDN'T ACCELERATE. IT HAPPENED JUST FOR A MOMENT AND THE CAR DROVE FINE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME SO I HOPED IT WAS ONE TIME THING. A DAY OR TWO LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, TELLING ME THAT THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WASN'T RANDOM. THAT'S WHEN I RESEARCHED THE SYMPTOMS AND SAW I WASN'T ALONE. THAT'S WHEN I ALSO LEARNED THAT NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. I FOUND OUT I WAS OVER THE MILEAGE, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY I BALKED BECAUSE I KNEW OF THE MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE/HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A MECHANICALLY DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. IN THE MEANTIME I'M GENTLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE: SHORT TRIPS, NO HIGHWAYS AND 40 MPH OR LESS. IF WHAT I READ IS TRUE AND THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION (WHICH HAPPENED A THIRD TIME WITHIN JULY) IS THE CAR GOING INTO SAFE MODE THEN I'LL DO WHAT I CAN TO AVOID AGGRAVATING THE VEHICLE UNTIL I TAKE IT IN FOR THE NEW TRANNY COOLER. I REALLY HOPE THIS RESOLVES MY PROBLEM. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE CVT I FOUND OUT THAT THEY ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR ISSUES AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WENT INTO PLACE. OF COURSE I AM OVER BY 30,000 BUT I SAW THAT IF YOU ARE OVER YOU SHOULD STILL CONTACT NISSAN. I DID AND STARTED A CLAIM GOT A CALL BACK FROM THE MIDWEST CORPORATE GAY WHO TOLD ME TOO BAD WE CAN NOT HELP. I NEED HELP
CVT CONTINUES TO FAIL. IT WAS REPLACED AT 73K MILES AFTER FAILING; IT NOW IS GOING INTO FAIL SAFE MODE DUE TO OVERHEATING ISSUES. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON ROGUE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE 100K WARRANTY WOULD BE FOR THE REPLACEMENT CVT BUT AM NOW BEING TOLD BY DEALER THAT REPAIRS WERE 12K OR 12 MONTHS. CVT IS SHOWING SIGNS OF POOR SHIFTING AND POWER LOSS ON HILLS. FREQUENTLY WON'T START MOVING FOR FEW SECONDS AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. PLEASE HELP WITH RESOLVING THE PROBLEM WITH ALL OF US ROGUE CUSTOMERS/OWNERS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING NOW FOR MONTHS AND I AM WORRIED FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY. THANKS
THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED IN JUNE 2016 WITH 122K MILES, JUST 7 YEARS OLD. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH 4 OTHERS IN THE SUV WHEN THE VEHICLE JERKED MADE A HOWLING NOISE AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST WILL BE $3600. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, NISSAN NORTH AMERICAN, AND BBB BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE FAULTY AND MAY NOT BREAK UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO COVER THE COST NOR ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THERE ARE MANY CUSTOMERS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES REPORTING TRANSMISSION FAILURES AND ALL COMPLAINTS ARE SIMILAR- FAILED TRANSMISSIONS AND NISSAN REFUSING TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT BEING PAID $3000+. IT'S SHOCKING THAT A RECALL HASN'T BEEN DONE FOR THESE TRANSMISSIONS. I'VE ALREADY READ DOZENS OF HORROR STORIES ONLINE OVER THIS. I'M SHOCKED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A FATALITY. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE ALL THESE CUSTOMERS GET TOGETHER AND FILE A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION OIL OVERHEATS AT LONG DRIVING PERIODS AND THE TRANSMISSION / CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND THE SPEED DROPS IMMEDIATELY AND SIGNIFICANTLY AND WILL NOT BE DRIVEABLE UNTIL THE OIL COOLS DOWN. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THIS ONLY HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAYS AT HIGH SPEEDS. ALSO, AFTER THE VEHICLE ENTERS THIS "LIMP MODE", IF YOU EXIT THE HIGHWAY AND STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WILL THEN NOT ACCELERATE PAST 5 MPH FOR A PERIOD OF 30-45 SECONDS. NISSAN KNOWS THAT THIS HAPPENS AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION. BUT THEY WILL DO NO WORK ON THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THE ISSUE CANNOT BE DUPLICATED BY THE DEALER WHEN THE CAR IS BROUGHT IN, WHICH WILL ALWAYS BE THE CASE BECAUSE THE ISSUE HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR A WHILE. THIS SUDDEN DECELERATION ALMOST GOT ME KILLED BY A SEMI THAT WAS BEHIND ME WHEN MY CAR WENT INTO THIS LIMP MODE WITHOUT WARNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 30 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. IN 2015, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED IN WARM WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILED IN AUGUST 2013 WITH 86K AND WAS REPAIRED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THIS PROBLEM EXISTED ON 2 OCCASIONS WITH ME AND I WAS ALMOST STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE SINCE IT FAILED AS I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE JERKED MADE A HOWLING NOISE AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT ORIGINALS PARTS WERE INSTALLED IN VEHICLE. NOW TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS OCCURRING ONCE AGAIN AND QUITE RECENTLY AFTER GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING FOR A LIGHT. THIS HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES WITHIN THE MONTH OF MAY AND AS A LONG DISTANCE DRIVER TO AND FROM WORK EVERYDAY, I AM PETRIFIED OF WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF IT STOP SUDDENLY. I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND ONCE AGAIN THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST WILL BE $4100. NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO BEAR SOME OF THE COST NOR ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS/ROLLOVERS THAT HAS THE CVT (CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSIONS) MANY CUSTOMERS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES ARE REPORTING TRANSMISSION FAILURES IN NISSAN AS WELL AS ON THE BBB SITE. . ALL COMPLAINTS REPORTED FROM CUSTOMERS ARE SIMILAR- FAILED TRANSMISSIONS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION BELT BREAKS WITH CAUSED A SUDDEN STOP. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO NISSAN NORTH AMERICAN, BBB, AND THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OFFICE IN MY STATE BECAUSE NISSAN KNOWS THAT THE CVT AT TIMES MAY NOT BREAK UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. ALTHOUGH, THEY HAS BEEN NO RECALLS THE EVIDENCE TO DATE SUGGESTS THAT CVT TRANSMISSION HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE FOR ME AS WELL AS FOR OTHER CAR OWNERS. SINCE MY TRANSMISSION FAILED IN 2013, IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION DIDN'T NOT COME OUT BUT WAS OVERHAULED DUE TO THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT THE MOMENT AND I AM AFRAID OF MY SAFETY.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN THE ROGUE IS KNOWN FOR FAILING. WHEN THE FLUID TEMPERATURE GETS TOO HOT THE VEHICLE WILL GO INTO A LIMP MODE LIMITING ALL POWER. MY ROGUE HAS HAD 4 TRANSMISSIONS IN 85K MILES. I HAVE HAD MY REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION FOR TWO WEEKS AND IT IS ALREADY HAVING SIGNS OF FAILING. I HAVE NEARLY BEEN IN MULTIPLE MAJOR WRECKS BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WILL CUT OUT WHEN TRYING TO ENTER A HIGHWAY OR PULL OUT ACROSS TRAFFIC. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS FROM THIS ISSUE BUT NISSAN HAS NOT SAID A WORD. IT HAS THE EXACT TYPE OF FAILURE THE NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD, WHICH JUST HAD A CLASS ACTION PASSED AGAINST IT.
DRIVING CAR TO WORK ON A BUSY ROAD, WHEN IT REVVED AND THEN LOST POWER. WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SHOULDER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THERE WAS A STRONG VIBRATION. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS NOTIFIED, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD A SERVICE CAMPAIGN, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STATUTE HAD EXPIRED DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO REPAIR SOLUTION OTHER THAN STATING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (75 MPH) FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS NO MATTER HOW HARD I STEPPED ON THE GAS. IT ONLY HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING AFTER 2 HOURS ON THE HIGHWAY AND DID NOT HAVE AN ISSUE AGAIN SINCE I USUALLY DO NOT TAKE LONG TRIPS. THIS HAPPENED TWICE FOR MY ROAD TRIP TO AND FROM HOUSTON AND DALLAS. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE CAR JERKS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THIS WAS ON REGULAR ROADS ABOUT 40 MPH. NOTICED MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IT'S DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND UNFAIR FOR CAR OWNERS TO PAY FOR REPAIR SINCE MANY 2008 & 2009 ROGUE OWNERS REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE.
IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR MY FAMILY AND I WAS ON OUR WAY TO MYRTLE BEACH FOR A FAMILY VACATION IN MY 2009 NISSAN ROUGE . WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD WHINNY NOISE AND THEN COMPLETELY LOST POWER. WITH THE GAS PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR IT WOULD ONLY GO 40MPH. WE PULLED OVER AND IT WOULD NOT GO AT ALL. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. WE SAT FOR A WHILE AND IT DROVE LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. WE DECIDED NOT TO TAKE IT ON VACATION BUT LEAVE IT TO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT IT. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. IT HASHAPPEND ON TWO MORE SEPARATE OCCASIONS NOW BOTH TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 45MINS. I MADE APPOINTMENT AND SENT IT TO A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH I WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT THEY HAVE SEE IT MANY TIMES BEFORE AND WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THE TRANSMISSION IS GETTING HOT THE FLUID IS BUBBLING AND SENDING SIGNALS TO THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN.NISSIAN WILL NOT AUTHORIZE THE DEALERSHIP TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE. THE PROBLEM IS THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT TAKES A WHILE OF DRIVING FOR IT TO OCCUR. I CALLED CONSUMER AFAIRS AND THEY UN WILLING HELP STATING THE SAME THING THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME.
VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION CAUSING VEHICLES TO SWERVE AROUND US, AND NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO HAVE TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS WHEN TRAVELING OVER 50 MPH, I WAS DRIVING AND HAD MY GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND MY CAR SEEMED TO HAVE NO POWER. I EXITED THE HIGHWAY FOR SAFETY PURPOSES AND ONCE I CAME TO A STOP OFF THE INTERSTATE I TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN TOWARDS A GAS STATION AND MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I LET OFF THE GAS AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, FINALLY SUCCESSFUL AFTER A FEW TRIES. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND WHILE I HAVE HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 120K MILES BY NISSAN AND SINCE I NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING ME OF THIS I JUST RECENTLY PASSED 120K MILES. IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROBLEM EVERYONE DIAGNOSED IT AS FUEL PUMP/INJECTION ISSUES AND NOW IT'S TOO LATE TO HAVE IT FIXED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY WITH AS MANY PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. SINCE MAY OF 2014 I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS AND NOW THAT I HAVE GOTTEN THE PROPER DIAGNOSIS I FEEL LIKE NISSAN IS PUTTING PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF AND OTHERS THAT WERE NOT PROPERLY NOTIFIED IN TIME OF THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY ON SERIOUS DANGER. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THAT NO ONE HAS HIT ME WHEN I TAKE OFF FROM A STOP SIGN AND MY TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR LEAVING ME STALLED. THIS IS NOT OK AND THEY SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH PUTTING A LIMIT ON WHEN TO FIX OR REPLACE DAMAGED PARTS!

AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD RESUME NORMAL OPERATION FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR AND THEN FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TRANSMISSION FROZE, NO FORWARD GEAR, NO REVERSE GEAR. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED WHEN PULLING INTO THE COALFIELD REST STOP NORTHBOUND ON I-55. AS I SLOWED TO PULL OFF ON THE EXIT RAMP, THE ROGUE JERKED TWICE AND CAME TO SUDDEN STOP. WITH THE TRANSMISSION LOCKING UP IT MAY HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF I WERE TO BE ON THE INTERSTATE (I-55 NORTHBOUND) AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30PM ON MAY 14, 2015. TRAFFIC AT THE TIME WAS AVERAGE BUT STEADY IN FLOW.
I WAS DRIVING ON 95N AND GETTING OFF AN EXIT RAMP WHEN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING FELL OUT OF MY CAR. THE LOUD NOISE THEN TURNED INTO A DRAGGING NOISE AS IF SOMETHING DID FALL OUT OF MY CAR. I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. AFTER STOPPING ON THE HIGHWAY I REALIZED MY GEAR SHIFTER WAS LOOSE AND I WASN'T ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY LONGER. THE POLICE AND TOW TRUCK EVENTUALLY CAME AND MY CAR WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. THE CAR WASN'T READY UNTIL THIS PAST SATURDAY 2/21/15. MY MECHANIC ISSUED ME AN INVOICE THAT SAID "DRIVE SHAFT BROKE FROM TRANSMISSION YOKE RIPPING THE SHIFT CABLE FROM THE SHIFTER AND BROKE THE SHIFTER". *TR
DURING THE COLD WEATHER, AND IT HAPPENS IN EVERY WINTER THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING IN THE MORNING, IT STAYED AT HIGH RPM WHEN GAS PANEL WAS APPLIED. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE MY COMMUTE STARTED WITH A HIGHWAY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 NISSAN ROGUE WHEN I HEARD A BANGING NOISE FROM UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR BOARDS SO I TURNED AROUND AND HEADED BACK HOME WHEN THE TRUCK CAME TO A STOP AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK SO I WENT UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK AND IT HAD BROKE A U JOINT AND THE U JOINT WAS COMPLETELY COVERED IN RUST WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT STILL TURNING IT HAD SNAPPED THE SHIFTER CABLE. I HAVE SPOKE WITH NUMEROUS PEOPLE THAT HAVE WORKED ON CARS BEFORE AND THEY SAID THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED AT THIS LOW OF MILEAGE. I ALSO SPOKE WITH THE PARTS MANAGER FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND HE HAS WORKED ON NISSANS FOR 20 YEARS AND HE SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WORK WITH NISSAN AND THEY ARE TRYING TO SHOVE THE DEAL THAT THEY HAVE FOR ME DOWN MY THROAT AND I AM NOT WILLING TO TAKE IT SINCE THIS IS A FAULT OF NISSAN ON A BAD PART THAT THEY INSTALLED ON MY TRUCK. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER RECALL ON MY TRUCK THAT I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF AND I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK SERVICED AT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN 2011. *TR
VEHICLE'S CVT TRANSMISSION REGULARLY ENTERS "SAFETY MODE," TRIGGERING A SUDDEN LOSS IN POWER AT HIGH SPEED (75MPH+). NISSAN AWARE THAT THE ISSUE EXISTS AND IS WIDESPREAD, BUT WAITS FOR COMPLAINING CUSTOMERS TO COME TO DEALERSHIP TO INSTALL A TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A FAILURE TO REMEDY CVT TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING DESIGN DEFECT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED, THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY SLOW DOWN AND IT WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THE CONSUMER STATED NONE OF NISSAN'S REMEDIES WORKED, DESPITE HAVING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSHED AND REPLACED, AND THEREAFTER, HAVING THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE CONSUMER WAS THEN INFORMED A NEW COOLANT TANK WOULD FIX THE ISSUE.
